Medieval Kingdoms Total War 1212AD Gameplay - Today we have a massive siege battle in Medieval Kingdoms! I command Sweden and my ally, Jackie Fish, commands Despotate of Epirus. England has Invaded our land, and now we must fight! The armies are on large, and I decide to sally out in this battle, it's quite interesting :D Enjoy the Battle.

The Varagian guard for much of its history were made up of Scandinavians that had come to the byzantine empire to serve in such a famous unit. After the battle of hastings, many Anglo-Saxons came to join, and they were referred to as the "anglovarangoi"

Italy was very much divided during the medieval age, for there were many kingdoms that were named after a major city, such as the Papel States, Venice, and many others. And since all of them were divided, most of the time each type of kingdom/ city state fought against the other.

They even fought each other inside the cities lol. Like in Bologna where they shot each other from tower to tower inside the city because of family rivalries and other stuff.

I would love to see a siege battle where one of the defenders has a whole army based on infantry that he can only use outside the walls, that would be cool.

OMG this is so cool!!! please, please do more area specific battles like: Caucasus area, choose Kingdom of Georgia with ally Armenia, vs Sultanate & Persia (place could be Kutaisi for example) and such are/faction specific battles. and pleaaase do more 1212 AD videos ^___^ thank you. You are making me want to rebuy my Alienware to play this :D :D

Yes! Fighting outside of the walls is the most noble thing you can do in a siege battle. Protect the peasants and their homes and take the fight to the enemy. It also allows you to use the arrow towers and walls a lot more.

That would be cool if in the campaign too we can play as a condottieri with our chosen units and fight for the paying prince or polis or the most influential merchant or banker family.The European warfare allways prove gold for a warlord and can find home in a castle or in a town and later take his own kingdom of course.

Love your vids Apollo! However, I must say I get a bit frustrated when you stop to watch archers/catapults/cannons then move the camera right before they fire, mainly because the catapult/cannon destruction is my favorite... That's my only complaint, I enjoy your videos and narration of the battles so much. Thank you for taking the time to do this for us :) (I especially enjoy when you look over the army comps and uniforms, the total war franchise is awesome)

anglovarangioi means in greek that they are acually varangians from England!! In difference ofcourse with the other varanian guard of the byzantine emperor where the merceneries where from Scandinavia or from Island!

Apollo a friendly advice all the -oi suffixes in greek fuctions are pronunced as -y (scutatoi ->scutaty) like victory or surgery (sorry no better example). Keep up the good work, we love it !!! P.S. I'm Greek

How do you zoom in so close on the units? And also how do you see where your forces are moving to so you can line them up? ( example you move a line of Spears to a position on the map, then you want to move swords behind... so you press a key and see the yellow dotted deployment on the map so you can make sure swords line up behind Spears)

Apollo, skoutatoi and all byzantine units ending with an -oi are pronounced like the "e" in email. Being Greek i know what i'm saying...keep up the good work
