The Teutonic Order is surrounded, and must prepare for a great battle! We are in the middle of the Polish-Teutonic war, and after many victories, the Teutonic order sent home 1/3 of their army. But Polish spies have noticed the movement of troops and have set up an ambush! Poland must use terrain to beat their foe, and the Teutonic Order must use number to survive the Ambush! This battle is fought using the Medieval Kingdoms Total War Mod for Total War Attila. Enjoy the Ambush Battle :D

btw, I have no idea if you'll read this, however the 1300s or the beginning of the 14th century was already the start f the Late Medieval Period you coulod've realized this if you had noticed that in around 36(from1301) years the 100 years' war would start which was characterized mainly by full plate armor worn by both french and english knights

Reconstruct Battle of Grunwald 1410! Teutonic Order led by Grand Master Ulrich von Jungingen vs Poland and Lituania alliance led respectively by King Władysław II Jagiełło (Jogaila) and Grand Duke Vytautas (Witold). Biggest knights battle of that time.

Eh Pixelated Apollo, Even though i love the fact that you like role playing in your videos, If an army in the 13th century would be marching they would never put their archer units at the tail of the army. They would be put around the middle of an marching army just for protection against ambushes. If they would be in the tail they could easily be attacked directly and killed in mass numbers. Just wanted to put that out their. Love Your Vids!!! :D

respect for your choice of battle. Polish - Lithuanian Commonwealth won against Teutonic Order 1410 battle of Grunwald / Tannenberg (north east of Poland today) and Teutonic Knights were kind of "best army of those times". So victory was great. Polish Army was greatly helped by Rutheniens for example units from Smolensk which helped against Teutonics Knights.

Any questionable tactics in this replay can be put down to roleplay. It ends up looking like a normal land battle if you're not as aggressive or flanking too much, seeing as there were three ambushes instead of one big one. Glad it was enjoyable to watch!

I love watching total war playbacks but I swear, second it becomes a virtual reality Mass battle server where we can actually fight against actual players in massive battles just like this just with all player controlled soldiers! Historically Teutonic infantry and cavalry were both heavy and well equipped. What they lacked was mobility, endurance (due to heavy armor) and numbers. Poland had mostly light lifantry that was mostly composed of lowborn Poles and Lithuanians, light Lithuanian cav and heavy Polish knights. In the famous battle of Grunwald where Teutonic forces were ultimately defeated, Poland relied on first denying the battle while Teutonic forces stood in the heavy sun for hours, pits that Teutonic heavy cavalry was unable to jump over (lithuanian cav could), and later on a massive all in assault on the tired, heatstroked heavy Teutonic infantry.
