@@JoeExoticReddo what makes all of this so funny is that earthrise seekers are voyager-sized versions of the old deluxe figures (for proof, check the feet of both figures and you'll see that they both have the tail fins on the bottom.
It wouldn't be that far off from what they've done in the past. I don't know if you've ever heard of the game Darkened Skye, but the entire thing was just a marketing stunt by Skittles to sell more candy. Thing is, the game's actually pretty well done.
Hot take: G1 accuracy isn't really what we want. Accuracy to our internal concept of G1 is what we want. So, Transformers designers, take what was good on G1, add joints and polish, and while adding detail, keep the greeble to a happy minimum.

I know you're joking, . . . but . . . The Prowl mold seems to borrow heavily Combiner Wars while also having pegs in all the right places for combiner bits, and the Astrotrain engineering seems suggestive of what might be done with the Masterpiece Raiden project that Takara has announced, and the Sideswipe and Ironhide molds have potential for being a specific limb.
I switched Starscream and Thundercracker's heads. I also used 91% alcohol to rub out the silver splotches on the wings to clean them up. Focused on the leg area, the fists, the back wings, and the nose. There's still tiny splotches of silver paint in the cracks but it looks SO MUCH BETTER. I'm surprised you didn't mention Thrust when you talked about Red Wing. Thrust is a red Seeker. This could be his pre-conehead seeker form. Before he was upgraded into a coneheaded Earth Form. Maybe in the old days, he was shot down, and they had to repair him.
Man, I was kinda miffed by the scalping going on with the Skywarp set, keeping me from grabbing one. Then I saw the Earthrise Seeker Mold, and forgot all about the Siege ones for a bit. I am so stoked for the Earthrise Screamer!
El Gordo Bandito, it’s literally the classics one but slightly updated Unfortunately they didn’t appear to fix any of the kibble issues or the hollowness of his main body on his sides You can’t even hide the nose cone from view in robot mode, they could have made it bend down
honestly im just gonna wait for chapter 3 given how naff both of the current wfc seeker molds look. hopefully the inevitable third screamer in a row will look better.
That's pretty much where my brain is. I've passed over the Siege lads (although I've been tempted to pick up a Starscream out of sheer pity; my Smyth's has a load of them completely failing to go anywhere...), but I may well be pulling this "get 'em all" schtick with the Earthrise crew...
Fun fact- thundercracker was actually the first figure desgined back when he was called jet robo in diaclone. So in a sense starscream is actually a repaint of thundercracker.
"Bitch, G1 never left." You're not wrong. I grew up with Beast Wars, and the Unicron Trilogy and I still knew about G1's existence through reruns in the 90's.
I hope you're happy. I bought the Rainmakers. Then I bought Skywarp. Then I pre-ordered Earthrise Starscream. Thankfully I couldn't find Thundercracker or Red Wing.
Redwing was already an existing character before shatter. It was meant to be a reference and extra little funny thing for fans who remember them. (If you want more details, check out baltmatrix's video on the figure)
The funny thing to me is two years later and it's still THIS mold getting new figures and not the ER one after playing through the three seekers and three conheads.
I actually really love the blue on Thundercracker. It's so chewy and delicious and it pleases my eyes. Also, you're gonna hate me, but my local nerd shop had some Classics Seekers and some Movie 'bots a month back, and I managed to snag Nacelle and G2 Ramjet for about $8 all together. I feel like I was playing life with all the cheat codes on that day.
I'm so glad they revealed that earth mode Starscream before I pissed away a load of money on Skywarp and Thundercracker. The earth design toy looks so much better so hopefully I can get Skywarp and Thundercracker in that mold.
Not really my loss as I'm saving money by not buying something I don't want and then getting something I do want. Though it cuts me to the quick that I am no longer a true fan. I shall go burn my collection of 35 years in shame.

Siege Starscream was my first return to transformers, and his entire backpack broke off mid transformation and now he's permanently in bot mode. It's like he's got himself a broken t-cog.
Thew pointing out Starscream's movie decepticon badge has caused me a mild crisis in faith where I constantly find myself inspecting all my decepticon figures looking for the 4-sided eyes. Seems like it was a limited run misprint though, since my own Siege Starscream has the standard G1 badge.
Love the look at the Seven Seekers So far! Fingers crossed we get enough Earth Rise repaints to get another weird one like Redwing. My prayers are that if we get the main 3 and coneheads, we get a Nacelle as a 7th repaint!
the feet took a page from the Shoji Kowamori design playbook. the VF-1 from Macross does the same. 6:50 they could have fixed it if the legs connected with the nose of the vehicle mode.

i really do like that, even with modern animation technology and cell-shaded CGI with dedicated models, seekers STILL get accidentally recolored as each other. 'hey what gives i thought this acid storm model was the one we were using. what do you mean you just shipped the episode.' at least they ran with it!
i mean if there was a Netflix 3 pack with Hotlink, Bit Stream, and Sunstorm, then the entire original G1 Seeker Set from the first 5 episodes of Season 1 would be complete. 9 total seekers man Starscream, Thundercracker, Sky Warp, Acid Storm, Ion Storm, Nova Storm, Hotlink, Bit Stream, and Sun Storm. Red Wing does NOT count
fun fact: Acid Storm is so much the green one, that there was a storyline in the comics where he was cast to play Starscream in a biopic of his life, but quit because he was afraid the paintjob he had to get to play Starscream would hurt his reputation as "the green one"
Considering Fracas and Shrute are canonically Scourge's and Spinister's respectively, my headcanon is that Terror-Daxtyl is now Skywarp's partner, formally promoting him to a Targetmaster. I got a 3D printer, so if I ever get a G1 Skywarp, I'm making him a pseudo retro buddy.
I recently got my first ever Starscream Siege Starscream that I keep in plane-amid mode and the anniversary studio series earth rise sculpt with the throne and coronation gear which I keep in bot mode

Sorry for the late post but; I made sure I got the main three because they looked like Battlestar Colonial Vipers and I also bought Aimless so I have stuck a Battle Master under each of their nosecones; makes the feet less obvious. Mind you I will have to take some blue paint to Fracus so he matches Thundercraker.
Would be cool and hilarious if, for the Collaborative line, they do an official Colonial Viper Transformer that uses the Tetra Jet as an alt mode but with a completely different looking robot mode that’s nothing like the Seekers.
You know, the cockpit on the chest not being the jet's is technically accurate, at 6:14 you can see the seekers' chests simply being covered over by two panels 😂

I have a hard time with all the schmutzy 'battle damage' paint but the mold is so awesome, that I couldn't stop myself from buying all seven as well. Fingers crossed for the coneheads in earthrise.
