Mental health is the most neglected health care in the world even here in the US. In Sierra Leone the stigma is so great. Speaking as one who was directly impacted. This conversation is a good start but it will take some time for people to get that mental health is just like your cancer, your diabetes and another ailment and should be given equal attention.

We will get there. A big part will be documenting and sharing. When I was struggling with mental health during Covid I talked about because I wanted people to know that it could happen to anyone. It will take time.

Great first topic. Really happy to join you all on this great platform. The level of drug use in Sierra Leone has now become an issue of National Security. We have all seen members of the security forces on videos being high on Kush and other drugs. Thanks for this inaugural topic.

Very informative and thought-provoking conversation. A national alcohol policy was launched by MOHS last year, so work is definitely being done in that area as well.
