IMO this is THE nor cal gas station ipa. This is what you grab when you spot a gas station and want to grab something cheap, drinkable and high in ABV. Does this make it one step above malt liquor? Yes. But at the end of the day its still an ipa and no seltzer or flavored malt can say the same.
@@DarwinsBeerReviews Absolutely, I'd put them in the same product category for sure. Ranger is a bit hoppier a bit more bitter so if you want a classic double IPA then go for that.
@DarwinsBeerReviews i just drank a pint of it 5 minutes ago, and man, you feel this thing fast. 2 or 3 of these be ponta you are good f9r a couple hrss. Great alcohol feeling.
Man I got two six packs, and I'm buzzing off of 2 lmfao, makes me feel like a light weight, and I can drink more then the average person lmfao, the beer is strong but it's drinkable without the Ipa nasty ass after taste
Were you thinking of Hop Bullet? I enjoyed that a time or two but haven't revisited. SN is releasing so many new beers that it's hard to stick to any of them. As a counterpoint last week I picked up SN Pale Ale for the first time in too long and enjoyed it so much. I doubt I'll try Big Little Thing as I now I focus on flavorful, lower ABV beverages.
I found a tall boy and had to try it out. I think it’s solidddd, I can definitely smell that gasoline hint. It reminds me of SN hop bullet in the way it finishes dry. I agree with your review on the taste cause I’m not sure where their going with it. Could be a little more hoppy, idk it’s missing something. Thanks for the review and Cheers! 🍻
Dang, you just don't like the Little Thing series huh. I loved both this and Hazy Little Thing, for what it is, and I remember you also disliking HLT. I'm reviewing it at the tier of the sort of beer it is, if that makes sense. It's a supermarket beer... and for what it is, and its price point, I think this is great. To be more clear, I think the balance is spot on when it comes to bitterness and malt. I'm definitely in the "A dry IPA would win me over hard" camp though. Sure, this doesn't scream IPA, but it's something new, no? Endless beers scream IPA, so I'm glad this now exists
Yeah, it's not for me. There are certain things I prefer like strong bitterness with malt balance or hoppy aromatic fruit bombs with silky thick mouthfeel, this does neither. Different strokes.
I’ve found this dank burnt rubber / gasoline aroma on several mass produced hazy beers. They’ve all had mosaic and idaho 7. So it’s either one of those hops or it’s gotta be a similar process of bio transformation. Most recently was Revolution Hazy Hero. Really good beer, but just like Hazy Little Thing, I’ll get that gasoline aroma every now and then and I don’t love it
Bit harsh on this one. It was kind of boring mix of East Coast and West cost. But a great value nonetheless. I have payed double for a crappy hyped local NEIPA.
Not sure who this yokel is... But I'd never ask my Vietnamese friend to rate beers for me; just not a strength of his. ...jus' like this guy. I think I'll read the description from the brewery, after all they taste a lot of beer. I might like it, might not. But reading the brewer's descriptions pretty well described what I expected to taste in the two previous Hazys (Hazies?) . The most interesting part of this review: I don't think this guy realizes that this and the Hazy Little thing are the same brewery; he seems to think - by his remarks - that they are jumping on the bandwagon and trying to associate their beer with Hazy. NSS!
@@DarwinsBeerReviews what a fucking dick to just bash you man I love your reviews !!! I'll tell you what after 6 of these in 2 hours I'm absolutely goneeee
Consider the taste vs price factor. If you truly belive this do a double blind test and come back with the results. But for me this is the best cheapest ipa you can get next to ranger.
I love their classic beers and some of their newer iterations of classic West Coast IPAs (Dankful, Hop Bullet, etc.), but their hazy beers are just god awful. I have no idea why Hazy Little Thing is so popular, but apparently it’s selling nearly to the level of Pale Ale, and it and its crappy variants are replacing Torpedo and Pale Ale on store shelves. Admittedly, though, I’m not a big fan of the hazy IPA style, but HLT is one of the blandest, lamest ones I’ve had.
