Scott, I always love to see an exhausted point. Obviously it was a good one and treasured, to be resharpened until it was used up! The other point was awesome! And congrats on the silver dime, your sifter works wonderfully well! And I LOVE your bloodhound!!!😊
Cynthia Swearingen Thank you, I’m not even sure how someone could hunt with something that small but I’m sure it was sharp at that time. Duke will be 9 in may. He’s getting slow and weighs 163 lbs. he’s always been a big dog and my best friend in the world. Thank you so much for supporting my channel. The sifter I thought up myself after a day of lifting the regular sifter, its so much easier. I’m working on new ideas all the time to make this hunting faster and easier.👍
@@cleggsadventures If you don`t have one you should try out the incredible yet inexpensive Minelab Vanquish 340 metal detector. Get rechargeable Ni-MH batteries for it and you`re set. I wish I had a great place to hunt old silver coins with mine. But for water hunting the Nokta Makro Simplex is inexpensive and fully waterproof and has a rechargeable battery.
@@cleggsadventures Check out the Simplex if you have freshwater swimming areas that may contain old coins or jewelry. The Vanquish is an incredible saltwater beach machine and uses a simplified but very similar circuit to the Equinox with its multi frequency. The technology in these two machines has never been available at such a low price point until recently. I`m still testing my Vanquish and figuring it out but so far it has been great. I wish I could detect every yard in the small town nearby for silver coins. Both of these would make a great team for that and have great depth. In areas where the multi frequency of the Vanquish picks up interference the Simplex is usually not bothered by it and some say it`s better than the expensive Equinox machines for finding silver coins in many cases.
Hey I really like your channel. I’m stuck right now watching over a family member so I can’t go searching for a while. I’ll do it vicariously thru you. Thanks!
5am 4/20/24, when I watch your videos it's like I'm watching myself, great stuff. I'm by the Muskingum river near the Y-Bridge Zanesville, Ohio bottle, stoneware and pottery USA.
Found silver dollar size rounded flat stone with a pencil size whole in the middle at a slight slant the same kind of whole on one of your artifacts in the glass covered display case near bottom right beside coin or something.
Texas Lady Had it been bright white, I’d have known immediately but the color threw me off. I felt so stupid afterwards. LOL. I almost deleted the clip, but sometimes I just gotta be able to laugh at myself.😂. Thank you so much for supporting my channel.👍
wvdigrrr Thank you so much 👍. I’m getting out as often as I can and hope to make my future videos better and better. Thank you for your subscription, I appreciate all my viewers.👍
I enjoyed the video, dropping in from Rocks Cousteau recommending you. Nice finds! Also, much respect for clearing up the mystery find in the clean up! I might've been a little embarrassed and conveniently "misplaced" it. Stay safe!
Nice variety of finds today. I am really enjoying your videos. I hope you decide to do some metal detecting. It would be interesting to see what you can find. Lots of early settlers passed through that area . Thanks for sharing.
Brian* Buckley Woods Man And thank you, I enjoy making the videos, searching for history and many other hobbies. Thank you again for supporting my channel 👍
Rex Smith Thank you much, he’s almost 9 years old and my best friend. Would love to take him along on my hunts but he’s a little slower these days, doesn’t get around as well as he use to. Thanks again for watching and supporting my channel 👍
At 1:55 to 2:10 I see pieces of very large rope on the beach; I come across the same thing along the Hiwassee River in SE Tenn. My research shows they were used for warping steamboats over shallow shoals during low water before the dams were built. They would be looped around a fixed point on the shore back to the capstan on the bow which would turn pulling boat over the shoal.
Chris Wells Thank you for the subscription, I hope you like my other videos as well. I am learning more about the videos as I go along and getting a little better each time. Thanks again for supporting my channel.
Anne Drogoul Thank you so much 👍. I’ve had a lot of different jobs, hobbies and interests in my lifetime. I’ve always wanted to learn as much as I can. Thank you for watching 👍
Watch pulling some of them bottles. I gashed myself up pretty good trying to dig one out with my fingers one day. Always be care full and use a stick to dig them out. Love all your videos Scott.
Robert Wise It works great, you can move a lot of material with half the effort. I have 1/2” in screen on it. I originally had 1/4” but went to the 1/2” to shake the material through faster. I realize some small triangles and flakes will go through but most the points I’ve found there have been medium to larger points, so I think it was a pretty good trade off. If you have a lot of small points in your area, you could use the 1/4” so nothing gets lost. The plastic gas line is thick, so I thinned the area where it goes onto the plywood with a belt sander. Then finished cutting through the plastic with a razor knife. Slid it onto the plywood and put a couple of screws to hold it. I think a 3/4” pine board would work instead of cedar, pine is pretty light also. Use some small pieces of strapping on the top corners to make the box stronger. And I put the rope through the side piece and tied a knot. Go through the side so you’re not pulling hard on the front piece of the box. I plan on making one in the future with and 8” board instead of 6” to hold more material. Happy hunting! Hope ya find a nice one👍
Hey Scott. Came across this older video of yours and thoroughly enjoyed watching it. Surprised to see that silver Rosie dime. Always fun to find silver. Enjoyable video!
Josh Lukie Thank you much, trying to get out as much as possible but winter is making it tough with all the rain. Thank you for the comment and for supporting my channel.👍
@@cleggsadventures , i hunt the banks of ohio river too. I live in southeast in. alot of cultures here. I hunt the laughery valley alot where, lauchreys defeats was in civil war. Check it out. Soliders shot a buffalo in a field and indians made them pay for it. Pretty rich in indian heritage.
hey scott. if i had to guess at what that slate artifact was used for id say a wood burnishing tool. used to rub on wood bows and arrow shafts to compress the wood grain and harden. just my 2 cents.
I'm giving Arrowheads a try, I'm surrounded with history to go along with my bottle hobby and mental detecting. I'm going out to look for Arrowheads in a couple hours, keep up the good work aka. JAKE..... later.
Ordinary everyday guy Thanks guy, I had a handheld one for a while but there was so much sand to move, I had to make something better. New ides to come. Thank you for watching 👍
Bradley Brobst Thank you for watching. Rocks lives a few miles from me. He finds nice stuff. I’m still looking for that granite celt, hopefully I can find one in there.👍
Metal detecting is also great too mix in with native hunting. You have come across some sites with alot of silver . Hoover boys hunt in the water and have found alot of pirate treasure as well. Recently they found some copper spanish Cobbs! Late 1500's coins!
Townsend Walton Thank you very much 👍. I don’t have a huge collection, I’ve only been doing this since March. My uncle used to take me arrowhead hunting when I was little, and I’ve always been very interested in it. Just not sure why I never went. Guess I was too busy with cycling ,running or luthiery. Or some other hobbies. Too many hobbies and not enough time. Not sure if you’ve seen my video a couple weeks back where I showed the coffee table display case that I built. Also some of the glassware I found. I’m hoping to grow the collection a lot more this year. Thank you so much for supporting my channel 👍
Ohio Artifact Dude Thanks for the info guy.👍 I’ll check those out in the Overstreet. So many different types of points in the WV/OH AREA, sometimes it’s hard to match them up. And I think there had to be that one guy, like me, in ancient times that thought...”I’m gonna create something different, thinking out of the box”. Thank you for watching and supporting my channel, very much appreciated 👍
That little rectangular pc. looked like a pc. of soapstone for marking on metal in welding, steel, etc., shops??? They come in pcs about 6 inches long. If that's what it is. ...and I just saw the end where you figured it out. 🤪🤣
was that a soapstone for writing on steel ? Cool video. We have done some sifting for coins too, with a little luck. I also used to look for a lot of arrowheads, axe heads, etc... in farmer's fields when I was younger. Fun video. Take care. Oh, I see you recognize it is soapstone
Not sure what your area is like, but if you haven’t watched this one yet, I give some places to look. How To Find Arrowheads. Simplest Ways ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-k0hgYW-MALI.html
@@cleggsadventures OK ,THATS PERFECT. i found my first point yesterday in a field but it was broken. i really enjoy your videos. i live in clinton county il.. albers.
Thank You for your hard work. I saw that post over on RC;s page. I watched those videos. People are buying views. I did not even see your video;s 1 time. And now I know why. I watch arrow hed videos all the time. Never once have i seen your videos. Wonder Why? We ALL know now
Ron Johnson Yea, makes it hard to get discovered. Hopefully when I get more videos, I’ll move higher up the search engines. Thank you for watching and supporting my channel 👍 I really appreciate it.
@@cleggsadventures I watched some of your other uploads. That Pentagonal piece you found is a Coshocton Chert- Jacks Reef Pentagonal. One of the best I have seen found here. That is a really good point. And worth at least 175 dollars
Yes, it’s a nice one, I found it stuck in some tree roots on the river. It’s in the photos at the end of each video. I thought it was that type flint, black with blu and grey specks. Definitely one of my best point finds
Did you ever find out what type of point that was? I finally found my first ever unbroken point and it looks a whole lot like what you found. Similar size, and color as well. But I'm in Oklahoma
@@cleggsadventures awesome I will look into those! I really appreciate the quick reply! I wasnt sure if I'd get a response or not, so thanks alot! I'm loving the videos, wish I would have came across them sooner. I'm at about 4 brokes and 1 complete point so far and hoping to get some higher numbers after trying out some of the tips!
@@knowbuddy0 Thanks Much! I try and reply to every comment I can. If you watch my latest video, I found all that stuff in 3 years. But I have a pretty good spot. It’s all about where you look. Good luck out there, there’s a nice one waiting on ya
Shelly, I’ve had other people ask me for tips to get started. I will go over some tips that may help in my next video. Right now the river is flooded but as soon as the water is down here I’ll get back out there. Hope you’ll be watching and thanks for supporting my channel 😊
How about making a video about actually findy stuff, and not babbling endlessly. I like videos about hunting and finding artifacts, not bla, bla, bla. Just saying...🧐
William Artifacts don’t come easy and sometimes take hours to find. If One turned up every 10 minutes, I’m sure that I could have clips of just picking them up. But since they don’t, it makes it tough to make a video like that. Finding 2 or even 3 a is a good day around here. If I was to film only the finding part, the video would be to short, and most viewers want to see and have me describe what I’m doing. Thanks for watching.
