I sprang for the scalar Works 1.93 mount for my romeo 4T, but they don't have anything to raise my Juliet accordingly. I've been working on making some custom spacers but I really like the unity magnifier amount. However I'm worried about it suspending the magnifier too high. Do you suppose that using the spacer Plates provided with the Juliet it would lower the magnifier to the appropriate height?
That’s a great question!!! I’ll measure it all out and see whether or not it should work. It sounds like it would in theory, my worry would be when you flip it down, does it hit the base of the mount? I’ll check though.
Alright, the difference in height between the risers is 0.13 inches. There is a spacer in the Juliet 5 box that is 0.119 inches. The 0.011 inch difference shouldn’t be noticeable at all. It’ll be closer but it’ll fit when it flips down too. It should work but I’m not giving you a guarantee. Worst case scenario, you have to return the mount.
Bro, thank you! I just got this same setup and wanted to raise them in my new 300 blackout shorty. Is there a specific size of the raiser for the optic you recommend?
By size, I’m guessing you mean height? For my neck length, height, and goofy egg shaped head, the 2.26 from unity is my preferred height. Absolute cowitness and lower third are too low and then the 2.91 from gbrs are super tall and somewhat uncomfortable but I also haven’t used those too much. Now leaps from scalarworks are nice too, I’ve used the 1.93 risers and those are nice, I just prefer the unity for my body type better. Unfortunately, it’s more about your height, neck length, and head shape. But I think most people should be in the 1.57-2.26 range.
Any issues having to mount the magnifier upside down aside from the centering being opposite? Ive had a unity fast mount collecting dust for a while but i see the magnifier mount on sale atm. Considering grabbing it and putting it to use
Good to know thanks. Yea I like the flip to center over the flip to side plus I hate that the juliet 3 and 5 micros have that push button mount instead of the flip.to side mount my juliet 4 has
Can you cowitness with a juliet magnifier? When using an eotech magnifier, the turrets for windage and elevation block the rear sight so you can't aim with the irons underneath
@@DigitalArmory_ the irons in the unity riser, underneath the optic. Normally, you can look under your optic to see the sights. However, when using a magnifier like the eotech, the magnifier's windage and elevation turrets will block the rear sight, making it impossible to see the irons, even with the magnifier up. The same goes for the Vortex. With the Romeo magnifier, is there enough clearance to peek through the irons? I ask because the Romeo 3x doesn't appear to have any large turrets that would otherwise get in the way of the irons underneath the optic.
@ALee-if6ld okay cool, just wanting to confirm before I say something stupid. So I have not found any magnifier that allows you to see the irons on the mount while having the magnifier mounted. The only options I’ve found are take it off since it’s got a QD, or flip it up.
@@DigitalArmory_that's what I mean. Could you see the irons with it flipped up? Due to the turrets of the eotechs, even flipped up, you can't see the irons because the magnifier is upside down and the turret blocks your ability to view the sights underneath the optic. If you can see the irons with a Romeo mounted in any way shape or form, that's a win for me.
@ALee-if6ld well dang, that freakin sucks. Yes, at least with the Juliet 5 (I don’t know about the other ones) I can see the irons with the Juliet flipped up. But, Juliet and eotechs use the two different mounts that unity make, so you would need a new mount (I believe)
