Man I like this guy's style. Flat out, period. He's right to complain. full stop. You pay several thousand dollars these days for hyped up guns with poor quality control out of the factory? No. People should've been fired. Don't wanna do your job? Hit the road Jack! Love to see a video detailing the pistol cleaning you just did, and WHAT you used on what parts, THAT was awesome! Man after my own heart. Good job with this video. I've just subscribed.
Thank you! If the gun were only $800~$1,400, I would not have complained. I would even think I'm getting a good value. But with a $2,200+ price tag and a lousy paint job, and the rust, I'm going to bitch to no end. And not to mention that one has to register one's gun to get the soft case and the coin. Why? Sig is collecting info to give to ATF? Anyway, I like the Legion very much; it's so fun. I still want to recoat it, tho, paint it right, you know.
Thanks. I didn't realize the barrel crown was different. However, while I agree with you on all counts I still opted for the legion. I never use the cases anyway.
Well, talk about cases. The Legion case is nice, better than the stock 5.11 case. I use it to take to the range and store the pistol in the safe. The best pistol case is the Bul Armory for their SAS, I think. The 2nd best is the Sauior Specialist that Live Free Armory Apollo 11 uses. I have several Sauior cases, one in each color.
Just picked mine up...mine is also missing finish on rails but i dont see rust or whatever like yours. Finish on rail looks to be on purpose as i have seen multiple xfives without finish in that area...this pistol is Bada$$ i love the feel of it the way it sits in hand...gonna go shoot it tomorrow first time....excited af
I took care of the rust already. That's how they shipped the gun out, so they will just do the same damn thing again if I sand it back. Think I will take it some where else where I know they will do a prefect job for me when I ready to recoat it.
@@AllenTam IT IS A PRESERVATIVE. Contact sig and they will tell you the same. You really think machined parts right out of the factory are rusted? This came up with Glocks a few years ago. It’s a preservative.
@@brianmanning9271 Telling me the rust I had to brush off with a wire is not rust is like telling the pistol I'm was holding is not a pistol but a pillow.
I shot both from the bench, the Legion was about an inch tighter group at 25 yards. The Classic wouldn't shoot as tight as my P226 Legion RXP. The X5 Legion did a little better than the Legion RXP. All have red dot sights
I have found my legion to be one of the least accurate pistols as of now. I need to rule out some things but inside 25y it's been plenty accurate but at 50y I can't hit shit and it's got a dot. 50y is pretty easy with irons and not even a challenge with a dot on all my other pistols. So possibly the dot isn't holding, the aac ammo I'm trying out sucks, or the ergos are just not working for me... or the pistol itself has an issue. It's my favorite pistol to shoot right now but saw a few people saying that after 25y their accuracy was shit so I tried it out and was like wtf. I hit my 12" plate regularly with my 365xl and like taking my 1911s to 100y often. So definitely something wrong just need to pinpoint if it's gun, or other.
Hand down the P226 XFIVE. Because 1: After 400 rounds, I couldn't tell if the integrated compensator reduced the muzzle flip, helping me to get back on target faster than the P226 XFIVE. Both pistols feel the same. So, the integrated compensator is just a gimmick. To really reduce muzzle flip, mount a comp directly to the barrel. But I am not an expert competition shooter, just an average guy; what the hell do I know, right? I recently installed a Holosun 507 Comp to the XFIVE Legion. I haven't had time to shoot it yet, but I'm sure the optic will help get back on target better than having an integrated compensator. The P226 XFIVE Legion now looks sick with the optic, though; l love it. And I'm considering putting one on the P226 XFIVE, too. 2: I'm a sucker for Stainless. Between the Legion Gray and Stainless, I'll pick the Stainless all day long. The only downside on the P226 XFIVE to me is that it didn't come with a stainless barrel. And I like the P226 XFIVE grip much more. I think both feel the same, so I picked the P226 XFIVE for its aesthetic and accessories included at the time of purchase.
Wow a crappy job by Sig for overpriced legion! Terrible qc control! Smh! Dame I'm sticking to the stainless X5 of I'm getting this. Absolutely Terrible work from Sig!
That’s what happens to guns with comps it’s gonna get a lot of carbon build up at the end of the day you bought a tool . The rust is frustrating though
I don't believe that was rust. It was more than likely some type of preventative grease from the factory. Rust wouldn't just wipe off or come off with a cleaning brush for that matter. As soon as you register the gun with sig they will send you a range bag and your legion coin. Although, i think it should of just came with it. I would most definitely have a problem with the missing cerakote on the rails. I could see that happening after allot of shooting but not right out of the box. I'd be contacting sig for sure about that. Contact them, they have excellent costumer service.
I am putty damn sure those are rust. With the guild rod and springs, I have to use a copper brush to take it off. I still have a stubborn spot of rust by the safety lock and a couple of tinny dots on the ejector that would not come off because I was using nylon brush, not brass. Next cleaning, I'll use the brass brush to see if it will come off; I was trying not to scratch the paint. I found out about registering to get the case from the promo card right after I posted the video. I tried correct that with subtitles. It didn't come out right on the first try, but I think I fixed it the second time.
My adjustable trigger only adjust down and not back up lol. It was at 2.5 out the box. Backed the screw out a full turn and still 2.5 one more turn and 1.5 haha so turned it back in and no change turned it in until it no longer turns and still 1.5 lol so its just a 1.5lb non adjustable now.
A few times, I took my guns to where I purchased them and asked to take a look, and they were very helpful, even with guns I didn't buy from them. You could take it to the shop and have them take a look. It could be just a small thing you overlook, or you have to send it back to the factory. Also, check The Sig Guy channel. His videos on the X5 are very informative.
Thank you very much for this video because picking mine up tomorrow and if anything like the problems you had on the phone and sending right back to Sig!!! I love Sig’s and have a lot of P 220 series and P 320 series and rifles but never ever had problems like this 😩. You are a good man for putting that much work in to get handgun right but it was ridiculous that you had to do that with a $2200 handgun. Thanks again for video but I don’t know if I should be excited of disappointment now 😩😢
Good video. I picked mine up a couple of days ago, but I haven't taken it out of the case (standard sig case) yet. At least if you register it you'll get the Legion soft case and coin. I also have the P226 X-Five custom works and I love shooting that one.
You're right, I was wrong. I didn't check the promo cards carefully. I did purchased one extra case for my other XFIVE though. Check for rust, hope is not a rust bucket like my
I don't know if it is just my XFive Legion. I would think Sig must painted all the XFive Legion like this. If they refinish my Legion, they will have to recall all the XFive Legion out there and recoat them, too.
I would call them and ask them about it anyway. I just bought the New P320 AXG Legion and the finish looks noticeably better. Sometimes you have problems like this in production. Two of my cars had problems with the paint and clear coat. When they got older the paint started flaking off and fading out. I know how you feel. It sucks just like Joe Biden.😆😆😆👍
That is a lot of different grease, oils and cleaners from different manufacturers being used on one firearm. I think this might have contributed to the carbon buildup. Mixing all different oils, grease, ect have been reported to cause bad chemical reactions and gunk guns up. Brownel’s did a video about the subject. I usually clean all factory grease with rubbing alcohol and then use just gun oil. I use Clenzoil as a RU-vidr tested a bunch of different gun oils for rust and protecting against metal wear (in a controlled environments with the same parameters) and Clenzoil was one of the best performers. Nice gun, i hope you do more videos on it.
I recently sent x2 Legion slides back to SIG to have Nitrided because the factory finish wasn't finished internally and was so thin it didn't match the frames. SIG did a solid fixing that for me. That said, this is piss poor, and they don 't finish or coat the interior of the of the compensator either. I was looking forward to getting one. Not so much anymore. Not without a slide refinish. Grips should be G10 and not plastic.
Hey man sorry to hear you got a jalopy , that paint job fudge up and corrosion throughout the gun is absolutely unacceptable especially for a high dollar pistol like this you expect the quality to be on par with the cost , how did this pass QC.... I'd be fuming.I really want this gun when I first seen as its a beaut and I adore the p226 but man this got me on the fence....I hope you contact sig and get sorted out brother .
Jalopy... 😆 Well, I don't think every gun has corrosion; it's just my dumb luck I got THE ONE. I cleaned everything really good, twice. The paint job, though. I don't believe Sig will take my gun back and repaint it because they will have to recall every XFIVE Legion to repaint all of them. Besides, I like to send it out for recoating, like in Sniper Grey or Cerakote.
finish not being on rails is good. mine had some break in due to the rail finish as its going to come off under recoil anyways. after about 60 rnds i had some failures to go fully into battery. took it apart and the slide finish was all gummed up on my rails. cleaned it up and it has been flawless since. only other issue i had was mine came with the romeo x from factory that came loose after about 150 rnds. took it off and it was very oiled and dirty underneath. cleaned it up and reinstalled with lock tight and has been fine so far. only personal issue i have is the roll through wall on the trigger was kinda disappointing. would have liked a hard wall. but still one of the best feeling shooters i have now. makes my staccato seem snappy af. paid 2424 out the door with the romeo x. would have been like 2800 to buy separate
I have this pistol and to be honest, it is the best feeling pistol I have ever shot. Also, I don't think that was rust on the slide. It is most likely oil. A q-ti will wipe that off. Enjoy shooting. This makes it so much more fun than ever before, I think. Cheers.
Dude I would have never accepted that gun and had the ffl send it back. Why would anyone want an x5 legion over a custom x5? What a waste. I would have been much happier if Sig made significant improvements to the custom X5. Even if they increased the price by a grand. I want the best gun Sig can make, not some remake with something that looks like a compensator. Don’t worry folks, after 6 months on the market all the x5 Legions will be discontinued.
@@AllenTam Naaa. We all want new toys. I’m just not happy with Sigs decisions sometimes. I think I should run the company. Until I realize I’m old. I’d rather just give Sig hell.
Ummmmm....Chinese guy with guns CHECK :) Gun video with no dialogue---BAD. You're one of the few Chinese gunners on YT....your dialogue or whatever you talk about should be better than most..so houo make Chinese-Americans look good...not feed intot he racist stereotypes some might have towards Asians "...quiet, dorky....."....obviously not always true...
Fam you gotta call sig and have them fix this bull shit I just recently got p320 axg legion. It like a cheaper version of your gun but after like 300-400 my comp doesn’t have any scratch like your and only slight carbon built up. This is unacceptable you pay a premium price.
I think the scratches could caused by the Herter's ammo. From my experience with the PMM compensator, 400rds in one go will blast any paint job off. So, I am not all that worried about it. But it's weird to have scratches like that. And I'm sure Sig is not going to repaint my pistol. I will send it out to have it recoat, and I am still deciding which color. And how do you like the P320 AXG Legion? I thought of adding that to the Legion collection, even every hair on my body telling me don't. 🤣 Thank you for watching.
@@AllenTam Sig will fix the issue if you will ACTUALLY send the dam thing back!!! There are no excuses on Sig's part for sending that gun out like that as a flagship Legion model for sure, I would not be happy either!! But the only way they can fix it is for you to call customer service and send it back mister - think you are being hard headed to say the least,,,,,,,,
Well, it is inside the camp, so I'm done being disappointed and angry about it. I have another project to put my energy into. I'm going to get me a P320 AXG Legion, too. Thank you for watching.
@@kevinmcqueen9068 I am hard headed. 😆 Fuck Sig; I'm going to send it out for refinishing ( still undecided on the color(s) ) when I'm done with my current projects.
It shoots very nicely. It's a good trigger, and I think the gun's weight absorbs some recoil, so it is soft shooting, just like its sister, the XFIVE Classic. But I don't think the integrated comp reduces muzzle flip more than the Classis at all, if any; I didn't feel the difference. Both feel the same. I did shot several rounds in normal and slow-mot in the video.
@@AllenTam As I suspected, slide comp does not compare to barrel comp. I'd rather have higher velocity from a longer barrel than a comp that is negligible.
A lot of work but you got her cleaned up pretty well in the end; she looks great! 👍🏼 I recently got the X5 stainless and like mine really well; it's already one of my favorites. I thought mine was worth the money and a better buy than a lot of other pistols.
The soft case? Register your XFIVE Legion and Sig will send you the case and coin free, and I still waiting for them. The soft case here I bought from Sig ( Sig sent it to me fast when I paid them, but for my free stuff they will take their sweet time). The mag I bought from GunMag Warehouse, less expensive than buy from Sig store.
Well, you could be right. I have seen white grease, I have seen blue grease, and even dark blue/green grease, but I have yet to see any reddish-brown grease that I had to use a brass brush to take off on the guild rod and springs. People keep telling me I did not experience what I experienced. So, I must be dreaming. If I wake up and go to the shop now to pick up my gun, my P226 XFIVE Legion will be perfect in every way. 😄
My problem with the XFive Legion other people don't have or don't seem to mind. I'm just a very demanding person for that price. Overlook that; it is a nice looking, fine shooting pistol, and I'm happy to have one in the collection. To buy or not buy, everyone should do their homework. Thank you for watching.
@@AllenTam hi just bought the p226 x5. Can I ask you if the x5 legion’s grip will be fitting on the x5? I was going to buy the legion’s grip for my x5.
I think you would have been much better off purchasing a Glock...and blowing your fingers and thumb off or shooting yourself in the azz. Sig Sauer is the BEST out of the box production gun made. Sig's customer service is second to none. Give them a call and they will take care of any of your issues. I carried a Sig professionally for 12 years and I own 48 of em'.
Look at how offensive you got. Are you the project manager who should be FIRED? Are you the one who did this amateur paint job? Or are you the one who assembled my pistol without removing the rust first? I don't like Glock, I will never buy one. So I guess I can't blow my thumb off or shoot myself with a Glock; thank you very much. The only issues I have with Sig now is waiting for the case and coin to arrive that should have been included with the pistol at the time of the purchase. And the freaking amateur paint job on a 2000 + dollars pistol. Sig painted every P226 XFIVE Legion like that. Will Sig recall every pistol and repaint them all over again to do it right? I don't think so. I own many Sig, and I only bitch about one, this one, that Sig fuck up, and still send it out.
