Great video. I just installed the Grayguns P320 Competition Trigger kit on my pistol had your videos running in the background for help. Would not have even considered doing it myself before watching this video and the disassembly video. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Thanks for a great video. It solves problems I ran into when cleaning my gun. By the way, just a suggestion, when you set up your camera, you might put narrow, colored, tape on the mat around what's showing on the screen. That way, when you're working, you'll know what the boundaries of what the camera will catch are.
Really good video, thanks for putting this info out there. I would love to see you build 80% FCU and put it into a Polymer80 grip module. (liked & sub'd)
Some may find it easier, if they have a full set of punches, to use the same size punch as the pin. This allows a smoother push out of the punch with the pin and avoids the circling motion of the punch.
spent an hour looking for a sear spring i dropped .. friggen thing was stuck to my pants leg. good video ...it only took me 2 hours to put this mess back together.. at least its all clean now
One of several other reasons why I have tons of spare miscellaneous parts. SIG sells all these parts individually so they’re very inexpensive and can definitely get you out of a jam. Use the parts picker on Sigs website. It’s pretty sweet.
Do you have any tips or know of any videos on the "slight modifications" for the JSD MUP-1 frame to accomodate .45acp (instead of the standard 9mm). Thank you. Great video.
Love all your videos! Thank you for all the help you’ve provided all of us! I do have an issue. My fcu is from a first run x5 and it does not look like this. I do not have the disconnector between the sear housing and frame and have a small round spring with two tails that popped out from somewhere? I think I found that is called the safety spring. The x5 doesn’t have any external safety for this to operate. Any direction would be grateful.
I have absolutely no idea how the FCU works. I watched the whole video, and I still dont know. But, I was given an FCU in parts for an 80% I am working on and I was able to follow along step-by-step. Did not have any problems, did not have any questions, and it all fit together as it was supposed to. It is very impressive that a novice like me can follow along to this and in under 20 minutes I have a functioning fire control unit. Great work not wasting anyone's time but also being thorough enough to follow along, thats a hard thing to balance
Sig Sauer Guy, thank you for the video. Well done sir. Felt like I was taking a Sig class. Please link where we can find your straight pick (staggered punch).
Just a heads up for anyone having the same struggle I did, I had to end up putting the trigger and trigger bar together then put the trigger into the frame with the return spring end of the trigger bar disconnected. Then you can put the straight(ish) end through the bar from the outside and rotate the hook side up into it's hole from the inside and you're done. Might have just been the AC +10% return spring I was using but I couldn't get the trigger bar to sit behind the trigger with it attached at the spring end.
The way I do it prevents people from bending or distorting the trigger bar spring. If the spring is deformed then the trigger will not operate properly.
You mentioned in another video lubing all metal to metal contact. How come you don’t lube where the slide runs along the FCU catch? Or does that risk getting contaminates inside the striker area?
Somehow disabled the fcu when cleaning. Cannot get the takedown pin to slide in even with moving the slide catch up. I was able to fix it but not sure how... Any thoughts, suggestions or ideas?
That was actually out of a coil building kit but I have. I do make alignment pin tools and they are available on my website if you are interested. Thank you! sigguy.com/collections/tools
How many of these internal parts are interchangeable with the .45? I'm seeing that the only difference That I'm seeing from looking at parts online is the slide catch. Is that right?
Correct, BUT the EJECTOR on the 45 FCU is different than the 9/40/357 FCU. And the ejector is part of the FCU so i wouldn't do a swap if this is a defense or CC gun
I wish i just bought a sig instead of polymer 80 glock19 with the parts that go with it you have to change out ejector extractor guide rod is a jock you get a parts kit that is trash thanks glock gen 3 so much fun have to buy more parts
While reassembling the pistol today (p320 AXG classic), somehow the FCU got caught on the slide and came out with the slide. I’ve taken this pistol down quite a few times and have never seen this happen. When I pulled it out from the slide, the Sear, and the larger pin on the left came out flinging the two little springs on the sear into the air. What a mess! My problem is that I can’t seem to get the sear to clip back into place. I’m assuming you need to get the sear all the way down before the pin on the right (larger pin), can be reinserted? Because I tried inserting the pin before and after trying to push the Sear with the springs attached, and neither worked. This made me believe that I might actually have to disassemble more of the FCU than I’m comfortable with doing. Do you think that this is true? That I will have to disassemble the back end to get the sear back in correctly? Or am I missing something here?
It came out by itself so logically you would have to think that it will go back in the same way. The seer can be removed and installed by just removing the pin and performing that task. Sometimes the takedown safety lever needs to be moved forward in order to get that pin in all the way. Either way even if you completely disassemble the whole thing to reassemble it it’s really not that hard once you’ve done it a couple times. Watching my video and following along you should have no problems completing the task. You’ve for this.
Thank you for your kind words. I’m a big fan of the conversion/xchange kits. I’ve been buying them since the P250 days. I was lucky enough to get the newly released X5 Legion xchange kit. LEGO’s for grownups!
Jonathan Wilfred Michelin of this is a post upgrade p320 the safety spring is not required anymore. For the trigger reset problem I would try a new trigger bar spring. It’s the. Inner one cause if trigger malfunctions especially after disassembly.
My spring next to safety lever is out of position…I can’t see installation of it in the video? (I must have backed out the large pin while cleaning gun)
@@SigGuy Thank you, Knowing where you got it from I was able to find just the tool at Amazon and not have to buy a kit. Hey. Avid watcher because I have a East German 226. But thinking on becoming a gun smith. Is their a accredited school that only does Sig Sauer gun smithing?
I've tried your method of installing the P320 trigger spring and I can't get the hole to match up with the nub on the trigger. I've read that the newer FCU's are more difficult. Can you please give me any hints.
The newer legion trigger is a little tighter fit because the pin on the trigger sits in a cavity sort of speak. While lining up the trigger bar you actually have to pull the trigger bar forward to line up with the pin. Just keep moving it all around as you’re pushing the trigger into the FCU in it will eventually line up. It does take a little extra time and patience. It will go together though. The little leg on the end of the trigger bar instead of being behind the sear housing it’s actually out towards the side so you can pull the trigger bar more forward to get it on to the pin.
Everything is the exact same between the two except the chassis itself. The manual safety chassis has cut outs in it for the manual safety. Everything these is the same.
Half the time your just out of cameras veiw and you keep getting left and right mixed up.....this is the second time I've tried to assemble my fcu to this video only to fuck up my roll pin because you keep getting left and right confused
This was super helpful for assembly of my MUP-1, thank you! One question though, and anyone who knows please feel free to answer- what is the O-ring for? The diameter is equal to or almost equal to the diameter of the notch that the trigger sits in, but I don’t see it in the couple assembly videos I’ve watched. Thanks!
The o ring for the takedown lever just provides additional tension so the lever doesn’t fall out when it is rotated and the slide is removed. It really needs to be there.
Hey i got a question, id like to like message u direct. I have a pic i have a spring creeping out insde my xfive fcu. N none of my other p320s have this. Canni message u to send pic?
