Hi Alan, thank-you for the professional review. 👍 Issues are noted and addressed: - We are adding mounting tabs to our controller. And will address the rubber pad issue. By the impressions left in the foam, it appears it was never shipped. It should also have not detached as we use strong 3M adhesive for those, our apologies. - We will inspect the threaded holes in production. Each system is tested before shipping but we do not check each mounting hole, well until this review. Processes have been adapted nonetheless. - The new Standard Bracket (post your DK2 review) has a deeper recess which allows us to standardize the bolts and use the 16mm bolts throughout, both the bracket to actuator and bracket to frame. - You are correct the new 160mm Extended Bracket allows for compatibility with rigs that have a greater channel span (form > function). We just started to ship these brackets this month and have already shipped them to many customers with all three chassis you mentioned in your review. They are also available in red and black anodized colors as well. - The EMI issue is a first one for us (and I am sure we all say that). However we will investigate further with a near field EMI probe and report back. Time to send you a DK2+ for review as well. 😉Many people ask which system to get and we fail at describing the difference. A complete DK2, DK2+ and DK6 review would best help our potential clients! If you could be so kind. Thank-you.

Hi, thanks for once again taking the time to discuss your findings! I'm really pleased to see the proactive attitude you have towards improving your customer experience - it really gives me confidence in recommending your products 👍 I would love to test the DK2+, and who knows I may need to look for an application for a DK-X as well 😉

Ol' mate from Sigma are you saying there are numpties out there who cannot decide which DK to buy? They are all great, tell 'em just pick one ! Ya gotta love the Oz-trians eh !? 👍😁
5 месяцев назад
Just a follow up. We inspected all the mounting holes in all our DK6 actuator bodies and were not able to find similar results with needing to rework any of the M8 screws. None of our other customers reported this either. Hard to verify this and not saying you were the only one that experienced this but we have tested all bodies and were not able to find similar issues with the threads. This is also one of the reasons we ask all our integrators to ALWAYS use us for feedback and support as it allows us to proactively address issues, and there are always issues. ;-) The threads are cut on our Fadal CNC machines as one of the final processes and typically if there is an error in programming or production its repeatable through the hundreds of units we mill each month. Nonetheless! We will still TEST all the mounting holes as part of our new procedure. Many thanks for pointing this out. Really appreciate it.

A bit late to the party but WOW, what a system! Great video review Alan. I have a question to Sigma if you happen to read this. Do you guys offer a traction loss system as an option to support the DK6 platform? I've seen a few systems that have done this. If not, are there any plans to do so? If yes, what would the add-on cost be?

I watch many sim reviewers but your videos are like a breath of fresh air. They're genuine and you actually take the time to investigate, solve and give final thoughts on problems. I find some reviewers don't take the time to give a product a fair go which can really hurt a small start up sim company. Keep up the great work.

Hi Brendon thank you for your very kind words. I am very proud to have this platform where I can share my experience with manufacturer and consumer alike. I feel like I have a particular eye for detail combined with experience in the field such that I can pass on feedback that helps as many people along the chain as possible. Of course my skills are less developed in certain other aspects, and that's where my friends at the other channels are able to provide their input and experience. Very happy to have this opportunity to chat with you too!

You really seem to enjoy excessive motion. As a 38 year Flight Simulation engineer I can’t help but comment that your settings are far from realistic. Not only does the movement mask certain helpful cues, but due to the required travel you are introducing unnecessary latency. And perhaps you could watch some actual race footage and take note of their head movement. Our eyes struggle when the movement is so jarring. Hope you’re not offended.
@DrAlanQuan
@DrAlanQuan 5 месяцев назад
Hi, no offense taken at all when the message is sent from a place of love. For various reasons my enjoyment in the hobby has drifted from seeking competitive advantage to having fun with the equipment - so the bigger the bumps, the steeper the pitch the better. And when this system can actually make me feel uneasy going over crests, or while racing downhill - I'm happy! I'm aware that the traditional wisdom is to keep the motion cues minimal due to latency, distraction etc - but I enjoy having everything turned up at least for now!

@@DrAlanQuan The fact that you answered my post certainly proves your sincerity regarding your wanting to provide information to our community. Thank you for that. Looks like it's leaning the wrong way in the corners?? It should lean outwards, not inwards, surely??
@DrAlanQuan
@DrAlanQuan 2 дня назад
Hi Matthias, I rewatched the video and I think I understand what you're saying. Let me preface this by saying the motion felt very natural when I was driving. In some corners the motion system is leaning inwards and on others it's leaning outwards - the key difference I believe is the camber of the corner, and Bathurst has a lot of variation in camber around the circuit. On heavily banked corners the motion system leans inwards, and on flat corners it leans outwards and I think this is an accurate reflection of what you would feel in real life. With heavily banked corners the reaction force from the road is relatively normal to the road surface which is not felt as lateral g force from the driver perspective. On flatter corners, the reaction force from the road is comparatively more parallel with the road surface, which is felt as lateral Gs and hence the motion system rolls outwards. I hope my interpretation is correct and communicated clearly - maybe the Sigma Integrale guys can chip in. I will say though - that is a really sharp observation and I'm impressed that you picked up on it!

@DrAlanQuan
@DrAlanQuan 4 месяца назад
The plates that I tested I believe are compatible with 30, 40 and 45 series aluminium profile which covers most commercially available aluminium profile cockpits. Sigma Integrale have also been really helpful with advice if you encounter any issues, or want to install on a tube frame chassis from Trak Racer or similar. They are a premium product with premium support - so their product is not cheap but they will get you up and running when you're ready for it, I am confident in that :) get in touch with them and find out!

5 месяцев назад
Our company goal for DK was always to make the best turn key system at the most attainable price. That was the DK2, which was initially launched in April 2020. Since then the DK2+ and DK6 were direct responses to what the market demanded of us (we listen and take in all feedback). I still believe the DK2 is one of our best products. The 3-actuator system can be had for $4400 and is unmatched in mechanical, electrical and software integration as a turn key product (in my bias but hopefully humble opinion). But the main problem in this industry segment is volume. Volume ultimately dictates price over time, and without volume its hard to attain efficiency of scale without compromising on the build quality, materials, motors and support. Its actually a fun and challenging problem to solve. But we agree about the high price and aim to continually improve on the product price. Peter@sigma

I do love good value and I hope to be able to cover topics that are relevant to more people. Hey Alan just got my dk6's YaY ! 😁 Installing now - May I ask what were your distances centre to centre between actuators, front to back length and width !? I want to keep length short as possible but in front of my steering column mount is 42.5 inches which seems bit long, or is ok ? Else behind closer to back is 29.5 inch seems optimal but Peter Sigma says is better in front. My width is 26.75 inches. Your setup looked similar my Trakracer TR160 so is why I ask you, thanks mate Cheers 👍🤠
@DrAlanQuan
@DrAlanQuan 5 месяцев назад
Hi Mark, congratulations! I can't give you any dimensions because everything has been returned to RaceKraft - the DK6, the cockpit, the monitors and the PC as well! My suggestion is follow Sigma's advice. The tighter you mount everything the less stability you have, and since there's a lot of mass at and in front of the uprights (the uprights themselves, your wheelbase, pedals and their supporting hardware) if you mount behind those, the rig may become front heavy and possibly tip if it's encouraged by a particularly forceful motion signal. Probably not, but better to be safe. Also if you mount behind the upright, that's exactly your point of ingress/egress from the cockpit so it would get in the way. The DK6 has so much travel, even what you might describe as too broad/non ideal of a mounting geometry will result in a very good motion experience anyway. Let me know how you go!

HI Alan i am using an sfx 100 motion system and discovered that the feeling is much!! better when you build your seat much lower IN the rig Your ass height needs to be in the center of the actuators That will minimize the unrealistic side an front/back movement of your seat In my humble opinion your sitting position is way above the centre point and THAT makes the movements way to much Anyway good vid thx and maybe you think about it👍

All these motion rigs add ons are way overpriced! 10% of sim racer ever buy motion. And the number one reason is pricing! Companies are stupid they would rather sell a couple motion rigs and then make a new one that more expensive! When if they made them way cheaper they could sell thousands if not millions of units worldwide!
