After their plane crashes in Alaska, six oil workers are led by a skilled huntsman to survival, but a pack of merciless wolves haunts their every step. Movie name = check first 10 seconds of the video.
If you are interested in full immersion of the ending + bonus scene after the credits, you can watch this 2:40 min video : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rRJurUdJF48.html
🧡 End-credits scene revealed the real ending of the movie...Liam and the Alpha slowly seem to succumb to their injuries after he fought gallantly...both of them still breathing, Liam's head resting on the Wolf's body.
The recap forgot one important end scene: there is an after-credits end scene where you see the aftermath of the fight between the Alpha Wolf and Ottway. They are both laying down breathing hard; it is implied they both died.
Maybe I'm a glass half full guy, but I always assumed the final scene implied that he killed the wolf and survived. After all, he is still breathing and the wolf is down.
@@raksh9 What happened to the rest of the wolves then? Realistically even if they backed off for a while they would eventually sense he’s still alive and rip him apart
This movie was truly depressing, lowkey traumatising even. Every moment of it is like being trapped in a nightmare. The only glimpse of hope is Liam's memory of his wife, and seeing she passed away and it's all in the past, that makes it even sadder. Only watched it once, back when it was just released, and I still remember the void it left in my soul for a while.
@@jac1207 That is true! I was wondering why he wouldn't just give up as he has nothing left to live for (and he tried to kill himself earlier), so I guess we never know how strong our will to survive is until the time comes.
Liam's movies have a depressing, surreal yet hopeful vibe to them. They are more grounded in reality, which is what makes them good. Tom Hanks is a good actor and Tom Cruise is a meme.
He is Dead, He is Alive, He is Save by Hunter, He kill By Alpha, He Passed Out, He Left Alone, He Kidnaped By Alien (Bruh), He is Wolf New Alpha (Meh?), The End.
crazy that even in movies.. when a plane crashes it actually leaves a wreckage.. not like in america that planes disintegrate on contact and just leave a misterious hole..
The pain of my divorce journey seems bearable after this movie recap. Beautiful movie. I need to show courage to fight this Alpha wolf of Divorce. Amen!!
whenever the wolves pack attack, worse thing you can do is scattered and run like these men. Inexperienced men in the Alaska wild, i'd understand; but the main character is supposed to be a veteran hunter/tracker and suppose to know this basic. Also you dont try to jump off a cliff into pine trees like morons and expect not to die or get impaled. wtf?
No, the worst thing you could do is sit there during a fucking storm which will result in either freezing or starving to death. Freezing will probably come first. Also, if your options are to jump towards a tree or walk back towards a pack of hungry wolves while you’re injured and treading through snow, then the option is quite fucking clear unless you do not mind being food. You don’t seem to understand at all or are just so oblivious to everything else that’s happening around them. It’s like you watched but didn’t pay attention to a single thing except two moments that or you are just god almighty and are not affected by snow and cold weather
@@chiefbologna5719 you are basically repeating the narrative presented in the movie which indeed has a semblance of logic. This semblance of logic could be enough to satisfy an inexperienced person. Why don't you eat some humble pie ----> go and read realistic accounts from wilderness experts on IMDB reviews, saves me typing the info
@@chiefbologna5719 You misinterpreted the original comment. He didn't say they shouldn't have left the crash site. He said that when the wolves pack attacked at the different moments, they all should have banded together rather than running. Wolves or any predator's instincts in the wild are to give chase when you run. So the best course of action that a lot of Herbivories in the wild sometimes do is band together and stand their ground until the predators leaves. There are multiple videos on RU-vid depicting that where Wild Bison are not running and the Wolves are simply too confused as to what to do and then they leave after a while.
The end was the biggest reason humans are peak species on earth. Despite the odds and everything, he scraps together everything he can and looks death straight in the eyes for a last fight
That's what I love the most about this film and the main character. He literally had nothing to live for, yet in the end, he chose to fight for his life until his last breath, unlike Dias, who chose to give up and let himself die beside the river.
Wolves are smart. They know how to coordinate an attack. The Alpha is terse but their tactics always work. I had an experience with an wolf attack when we were hunting with my grandfather. There were 9 wolves. My grandfather pulled out the spas and the M16 and fully loaded them just in case. He gave me the his 1911. When the wolves started walking towards us, my grandfather put the safety off. The wolves heard it and start to split on both sides. When I put the safety off, the wolves charges while the Alpha watches. My grandfather fired a warning shot but the wolves kept coming so my grandfather had to shoot them. Then he noticed that a third wolf was behind us ready to get me so he pulled my hand and my grandfather got bit on his back. Then he took my gun and shot all seven rounds at the head of the wolf that was biting him. Then my grandfather went on a mayhem and took the M16 and started shooting the wolves. After that terrifying event, I drove my grandfather to the nearest hospital because he was severely bleeding. I didn't know how to drive at that time so he taught me while rushing to the hospital. When we got ( nearly hit the ambulance) he was rushed to the emergency room. He got rabies and lost a lot of blood so he spent 3 weeks in the hospital while my dad who is a ranger went to the place 2 days after the wolf attack. The guns were still there all rusted, cover in blood and dead wolves all around when he inspected the camp. They are fluffy, but they are not bright either. Never outsmart them because they always outsmart you.
Ottway helps Duke to get up before he dies of his injury & goes looking for more survivors Dwayne thinks this is all a dream and he will wake up soon before Ottway & Dwayne find Todd who is lost - 1:50 - 1:53 Ottway is called to Luke, who is bleeding profusely. Ottway tells Luke the sad news that he is dying and he tries to comfort him is his final moments. - 2:03
That movie actually inspired me to keep it up and never give up even if it leads me to lost everything. At least I am still alive. Just like at end credits he is alive after fighting the Alpha Male wolf
@@Moviecaps Why would nobody find them? They not go off course. They had Shelter, Food, Water, Fire, Defense.. Guy was Suicidal and he wanted to take everyone out with him.
tbh, no it wont take a week if a plan crash, the blackbox is there unless pilot purposely turn it off, it will take immediately after pilot noticing they gonna crash and the head quarter gonna contact higher up to starting the rescue immediately unless they are in bad weather storm and the plan can't flight And wolves don't attack humans , same as Shark it's just hollywood want to pain them that way, and most of time you die from bleeding rather than their attack
I feel like this movie wasn't supposed to be depicting a realistic portrait of wolves and their actions. It had to be something symbolic about what Ottway and these men were going through. The wolves did not behave like normal wolves do. It might be a stretch, but the end fight where he solo'd that alpha male was like, I don't think this is how it is supposed to be, and it's gonna turn out there were no wolves after all. They were all just hallucinating from the cold and being hurt from the crash.
This is a very good movie. Lot's of nail biting action. I not usually care for action movies but I've seen this one like 3 times! Watch it while you are bundled up in a warm blanket with a hot cup of chocolate.
...... a *deranged* man thinks this is all a dream and he will wake up soon. Honestly. Probably one of the most sane things a person would think in that moment. 🤔
Even if he killed the alpha he wasn't making it out of the wolves den. The other wolves wanted to kill him but the alpha silenced them and chose to fight him alone
The film was about how there is no grand meaning or purpose, just survival...the fight against the forces arrayed against us...and how in the end, we're all just all alone in the wilderness!
an advice i was given as a Mongolian whos been wolf hunting: If you don't have a gun, carry two large sticks. When the wolf attacks you offer the stick and let it bite on it. Then slide the second stick along the first stick (the one the wolf is biting on) and hit the wolf as hard as you can and as many times as you can. Their snouts are sensitive and after a few hits the wolf should whimper and run away. wasn't given advice on multiple wolves lol probably because an unarmed human probably does not survive those.
Yup. No such thing as alpha, omega or beta wolves. They run as a family. But yeah its a movie, which movies dont tend to make certain animals look good, instead misrepresent said animals.... Except that one movie with Di Caprio where he dealt with a Grizzly, that is somewhat accurate, THEY WILL KILL YOU. Back to wolves, attacks on humans is low and they would usually want nothing to do with us. Not saying they're friendly, just saying leave them be. As for the humans.... humans are gonna human, I suppose.
I think we all won, on this one "Once more into the fray, into the last great fight I'll ever know, live and die on this day, live and die on this day."
Why would you cry at someone for looting the dead when you are in a survival situation where you need everything useful to stay alive? Thats not looting the dead, thats gathering whatever you can to survive
@@Moviecaps I was more talking about taking the watch that he was trying to get.. it can be a really useful tool depending on what features the watch has
@@Drnken229 I doubt he was taking it for the utility, but yeah, it might come in handy if it did have some useful complications or wasn't broken in the crash and they can use it to tell time/days, though.
