Carving of a double sided hanging address plaque for a friend out of poplar on the @Ooznest Workbee CNC using @Vectric Ltd Aspire for toolpathing!
You can check out this budget CNC from ooznest here: ooznest.co.uk/...
You can follow me on Instagram here: / wildrosebuilds
Here are a few things i'd do differently next time around:
- Use a proper fixture for aligning the two sides, i used registration holes in the stock to align the piece once flipped but that was ineffective.
-Paint the letters after the Vbit carving before running the final smoothing pass to get a cleaner look for the face edge of the letters and avoid the finacky hand painting.
-Swap my dust shoe and hose for a larger diameter one as this one got clogged during my roughing pass.

Try a base coat first then do lettering. Then finish coat , this will stop bleeding of paint into grain. Gold leaf could look nice on a on dark stained or timber.

Hi, If you don’t mind me asking, that’s a beautiful result but as it’s not an industrial size cnc how many hours can you operate a day. 8 hours is a long time. Did you do this on separate days?

Amazing! I'm alo considering to purchase the same cnc but slightly concerned about the noise level. Is it loud to mill chipboard?
@peterballemy9929
@peterballemy9929 2 года назад
I wouldn't use chipboard as it will chip out all over the place. Routers need solid materials. Also the glue in chipboard will blunt your cutter in no time at all.

It only took 10 hours to do this product isn't it 😅? Not saying that it didn't came out beautiful but probably this cnc isn't the right one if you do this as a business. May take you a few months do to 20 of these 😁
@gal766
@gal766 3 месяца назад
The maximum RPM for a servo motor is 1000RPM (with proper torque), so all CNC have an upper limit, regardless of the quality of your machine, so what is you point? The only way to make it faster in a direct driven system is to attach many spindles on the same gantry...
