Thank you very much ma'am I thought I had already learned loud from the book I had bought, but apparently I was doing it wrong.

I'm curious about the sign you learned. It may not be wrong. Sometimes there is more than one way to sign a word. The way I showed is the one I know but that doesn't mean that there is not another option out there.

Thank you!! I use these videos to learn for the students in my care. Alot of kids know sign language to fill in their language gaps, figure i should adapt for their comfort and convenience.

@@ASLLOVE alot of our autistic students are learning two speaking languages but often know sign language, even if only understand and not use themselves much yet, it bridges the language gab as I myself am ADHD so I understand language difficulties. 😀 Edit: Also comes in handy with hard of hearing students! They help me refine my movements lol

@@Justignorekas I’m sure it is useful in many ways! It takes time but it sounds like you have a great group of students to work with and learn together.

Hi! I've been learning ASL off and on from you for a while. And tonight I watched the new Avatar movie. They use sign language in the film but a bit different because it is supposed to be based off the alien language. But still close enough I know what they meant without reading the subtitles! It was so cool! I think it's gonna be a treat to watch for anyone who signs. Especially those who can't hear as for once they don't need the subtitles while everyone else does. It's almost like an accent on ASL I think. Anyway, could you watch the film and see how it relates? From what I could tell as a novice, the signs for boy, girl, understand, sign, and beautiful are extremely similar. I would love to get an expert's perspective.

That is so cool!! Yes I can check it out. I’m curious to see it on screen. I’m happy to see ASL and signing being incorporated into more storylines. Thanks for letting me know about it. 👍🏼

I am a bit surprised that the sign for noisy isn't simply covering both ears with the hands. Since I am deaf in my right ear and have permanent tinnitus in my left ear, I always do that when the fighter jets fly overhead here in Yorktown, Virginia. Merry Christmas!!!

Merry Christmas to you too! While covering your ears with your hands conveys the meaning of something being too loud or noisy it's not the actual sign in ASL. Similar to how a "thumbs up" means "good" in the US, it's not how you would sign the word "good" using ASL.

@@ASLLOVE Interesting! It would be cool to know how Gallaudet decided on all the signs way back in 1817.
