Man, recently I was hoping you'd one day post about trailer bearings, and this morning one busted on me at the marina, ended up paying $680 for a guy to come out and change 3 of them on my trailer at the marina
You didn't pack the bearing! "Rubbing" grease on the bearing is NOT packing it. Anyone watching this video make sure you pack the bearing properly with grease. Rubbing grease on it like that will do little if anything to greasing the bearing properly.
Paul, thanks for the feed back, I did mentioned several times to pack the bearing with grease and dont go cheap on packing. I usually rub grease and then do packing. Unfortunately, it is missing the packing part. If you have a short clip on packing, please share, and I can add it to the description for reference, or I can do another video sometime soon with all the details. In my mind, I focused more on bad bearning part and diagnosis and neglected to add the packing shot. Thanks again for watching and sharing your experience.
Breaking axle nuts free with a crescent, beating the brake drum with a claw hammer, throwing away what appears to be a good part because it’s rusty, all done by a guy wearing crocks 😂
You must be a nickle and dime kind of a guy, the trailer hauls a load and its better to spend money and buy a new part and be safe. Its easy to sit and comment, doers make jobs happen regardless of tools and proper attire. Look into what was discussed. Grow up man !
