I don’t eat sugar for more than a year now and I am still alive and healthy. Eat more fruits and vegetables and good meat. Coffee and tea without sugar at all…. I feel better every single day and exercise 3 times a week 👍👍👍 No carbs No calories No processed foods
Fruits and vegetables have good cards. The natural one. You have to pick the better ones, which have more antioxidants, fiber, and nutrients. Also healthy nuts like almonds, apricots and walnuts. Read the ingredients when you buy the food. Drink pH water. Carrots, beets, pineapple, and apricots are great sources to bring down inflammation. Pain in my body has gone down considerably. Thank God for providing the nutrients our bodies need to heal and thrive 🙏
Bugs nibbling on plants to make them grow better, more polyphenols….it’s like parenting. When I nib at my kids, nag them, they’ll grow better, stronger, more resilient. I’m the bug. ❤
Children are not plants. Nagging them will make them hate you. You need to learn some good childrearing techniques. Children need inspiration to be their best, not nagging. Don’t be a nagging person. Be a positive role model.
Love them by discipline and teach and show them the consequences of bad choices. Love is guiding them and instructing them in the right direction. God bless the parents who have kids. It is not an easy task.
I like this channel because dr Rupy is kind, caring and humble. He always put the book of the person interviewed on the screen, to promote the books. That is what the viewers want and what the person interviewed want. Some other interviewers only talk briefly at the end about the book of the person interviewed, or they even talk about their own book!!
Sugar hides in stuff, I found some hiding in my jar of Peanut butter. 😉 Also why do we have to pay more for sugar free stuff! Should it not be no sugar, pay less.😂 😂😂😂
Food industry and big pharma work together. Peanut jar content has to be tasty in order to satisfy people taste buds to make profit. Excess sugar makes us sick sonBig Pharma comes into the picture with medicine to make profit.
Logical of course however the base ingredients of interest makes up a small amount of the mass. Can't make high profits without making the bulk with refined sugars, starches, etc...
As a longtime resident in Japan, a small correction……Wakame is the seaweed found in Miso soup. The broth used to make miso soup is made with Kombu & fish flakes. Wakame is also used in a common seaweed salad as it’s very thin where Kombu or kelp is quite thick and needs special preparation to be eaten on its own.
Bless all the Doctors, Coaches, and Metabolic Research Specialists, you are saving our real lives with all your podcasts. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. My 8 doctors in two years (never been to doctors before this, and always healed holistically until my blood pressure went up the first time at 63 in 2020) and these people are drones, they are big pharma drug pushes. I so appreciate people like you educating all of us. I've only drank water since 1991.
630am. Dr li has been a fabulous inspiration. At 87am still learning to improve healthy eating habits. My persimmon tree is beginning to now have a bountiful crop that I am anxious to add new and exciting recipes. Thank you
Thank you, Dr. Li for your inspiration. You have such a pleasant approach to teaching us. I love your curiosity about the world around you and your desire to share it with us.
I'm a fan of the MIND (Mediterranean + DASH) diet which encourages the use of a 5oz glass of wine daily. I appreciate the discussion about alchool minimum use. My question would be if there is any beneficial use of alchool due to its interactions with other foods that are also encouraged in that specific diet.
*Sugar can sneak into your diet in several unexpected ways. Here are some common sources:* 1. Processed Foods - Many packaged foods, including sauces, salad dressings, and snacks, often contain added sugars, even if they don’t taste sweet. 2. Beverages - Sugary drinks like sodas, energy drinks, sweetened teas, and even fruit juices can add significant amounts of sugar to your diet. 3. Breakfast Cereals - Many breakfast cereals, including those marketed as healthy, can be high in added sugars. Always check the label for sugar content. 4. Condiments - Items like ketchup, barbecue sauce, and teriyaki sauce often contain hidden sugars that can accumulate quickly. 5. Baked Goods - Pastries, cakes, cookies, and muffins often have high sugar content. Even seemingly healthy options like granola bars can be loaded with sugar. 6. Dairy Products - Flavored yogurts, milk alternatives, and creamers can contain added sugars. Opt for plain versions when possible. 7. Snacks - Many snacks, including granola bars, protein bars, and even certain types of nuts, can have added sugars for flavor enhancement. 8. Fruit - While whole fruits are healthy, fruit juices and dried fruits can have concentrated sugars and added sweeteners. 9. Cooking and Baking - When cooking or baking, it’s easy to add sugar without realizing it, especially in recipes that call for sweeteners. 10. Eating Out - Restaurant meals often contain hidden sugars in sauces and marinades. Even salads can have sugary dressings. Tips to Reduce Sugar Intake - Read Labels: Always check the ingredient lists for added sugars. - Choose Whole Foods: Focus on whole, unprocessed foods like fruits, vegetables, grains, and proteins. - Limit Sweetened Beverages: Choose water, unsweetened tea, or coffee to reduce sugar intake from drinks. - Cook at Home: Preparing your own meals allows you to control the ingredients and avoid hidden sugars.
I always thought the "normal" suggestions were way off: males can have up to three drinks per day? That means I can drink 21 vodka tonics per week and still be within the safe guidelines? That's ridiculous.
Hi Michael! In my younger days I would feel that way how about the brain connection. I drink so seldomly now I don't really have that desire anymore for the alcohol. I love the taste of non-alcoholic Heineken and the health benefits from non-alcoholic red wine
@@fibber2u Apparently you know better than I do what I have and have not eaten. Incredible arrogance. Re-read my original post and let me know which part of it you don't understand.
@@gilessteve I did not mean to offend. For myself I could never go months without drinking any coffee, many teas or milk, or eating (some) cheeses and spices, any nuts, fruit, vegetables, grains, seeds, or herbs : so it seems I assumed wrongly that you had not either. I apologise. I don't eat refined sugar and this means I avoid all highly processed food but do eat sugar in all of the above, as it occurs naturally in them.
It's not sugar, it's glucose that every single cell in your body uses for energy. Your body will get it from carbs, but if you don't eat carbs, your body will make glucose via either glycogenolysis or, gluconeogenisis. The traditional Inuit diet has no carbs, it's fat. Their body makes the glucose
Hello there, would you please be so kind as to list the sugar free foods you have been eating ? I'm sure this will be most useful for the audience. Thank you.@@gilessteve
I didn't drink soda I didn't eat sweets or candy; I still have 3 lbs of a 5 lb bag of sugar I bought in 1997. Sugar per se was not my problem... glucose was. in the form of homemade bread, tortillas, pasta and beans. That's what gave me Insulin Resistance and then the weight started to come on. 6 months carnivore now - 40 lbs lighter, normal BMI, only 20 pounds left to go... feeling good, sharp, happy.
The chocolate I used to eat contains soy lectins and always bothered my stomach. After changing vendors I no longer have stomach issues when eating chocolate.
If you want organic grow your own ! You can’t even trust all farmers markets . Start a kitchen garden or garden towers. - you can get organic nutrients for hydroponic gardening
just found out that big pharma pays about 80% of medical school costs. I doubt that they will allow a lot of nutrition courses in med school anytime soon. Money talks....
With big pharma underwriting 80% of medical school costs doctors in training are going to be taught to use drugs as their primary method of treatment. There are not going to be many courses on nutrition or prevention of illness.
I agree. In one of Dr Li’s iTunes, I think with Jim Kwik, he states healthcare is up to us too. Thank goodness we can do so much ourselves between appointments and for me just being aware or cautious about prescriptions.
At around 1:41:50 he talks about the persimmon fruit.. I love these.. and just eat them like an apple.. skin and all :) in the UK they usually in my local shop around November time but they a golden yellow variety :)
We’re laughing watching you interview Doctor Li watching you bounce your head up and down agreeing with everything he says, but my goodness your head is bouncing like crazy
*Here are some signs that may indicate you have too much sugar in your diet:* 1. Frequent Sugar Cravings - If you find yourself constantly craving sugary snacks or drinks, it could be a sign of sugar dependency. 2. Energy Spikes and Crashes - Experiencing rapid energy boosts followed by crashes can indicate high sugar intake. This often results from spikes in blood sugar levels. 3. Weight Gain - Excessive sugar consumption can lead to weight gain, especially around the abdomen, due to its high-calorie content and low nutritional value. 4. Increased Hunger - Sugar can lead to increased hunger, making you feel hungry soon after eating due to lack of nutrients in sugary foods. 5. Mood Swings - High sugar intake can affect your mood, causing irritability, anxiety, or mood swings as blood sugar levels fluctuate. 6. Skin Issues - Conditions like acne or eczema can be exacerbated by high sugar consumption, as sugar can trigger inflammation. 7. Dental Problems - Frequent cavities or gum disease can be linked to high sugar intake, as sugar feeds harmful bacteria in the mouth. 8. Fatigue - Constant fatigue or feeling sluggish may result from the energy crashes associated with high sugar consumption. 9. Poor Sleep Quality - Excessive sugar can disrupt sleep patterns, leading to insomnia or poor sleep quality. 10. Digestive Problems - High sugar intake can lead to digestive issues, such as bloating or gas, due to its impact on gut health. Monitoring Your Intake - Keeping a food diary can help you track your sugar consumption and identify patterns. - Reading nutrition labels is crucial; aim to limit added sugars to less than 10% of your daily caloric intake. If you suspect your sugar intake is too high, consider reducing processed foods, sugary beverages, and sweets while opting for whole foods like fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.
*Summary* The video discusses the impact of sugar and carbohydrates on energy levels, health perceptions, and dietary habits. Here’s a summary of the key points: Lethargy from Sugar Overload: While sugar is typically associated with energy, consuming too much can lead to feelings of tiredness and lethargy. This paradox is explained through glucose spikes and dips. Soda Consumption: Many people underestimate the sugar content in soda, which can contain 7 to 9 teaspoons of refined sugar per serving. This hidden sugar contributes to health issues without individuals realizing it. Healthy Appearances but Poor Diets: Some individuals may consider themselves healthy but consume high amounts of sugar through sodas, snacks, and processed foods. The discussion highlights that even athletes can overconsume sugars through fruit and sports drinks. Calorie Misconceptions: The notion that "calories in, calories out" is overly simplistic. Calories are just a measure of energy, and the quality of that energy matters significantly for overall health. Alcohol Consumption: Alcohol is presented as part of human culture and celebration. However, it’s also important to recognize its potential health impacts and the need for moderation. Caffeine in Coffee: The video also touches on coffee, emphasizing its health benefits beyond caffeine, such as chlorogenic acid, which supports circulation and metabolism. Mushrooms: The distinction between culinary and medicinal mushrooms is made, suggesting that both have benefits but should be approached differently in terms of consumption. Matcha Tea: Matcha is highlighted for its unique properties, including varying caffeine levels depending on harvesting times and methods. Overall, the video stresses the importance of understanding food choices, recognizing hidden sugars, and appreciating the complexity of how different foods affect our health.
Legumes and soy I have read cause inflammation. As well as chick peas ? I’ve tried to find a diet to help inflammation and combat Hashimoto’s thyroiditis
Re sugar...when you recommend tea without sugar...coffee without sugar Dr Li ... does that also take in the use of honey? I thought honey was beneficial... i.e. local honey or Manuka honey...please expound and enlighten us, as needed ... thank you!
😢why the ads are so LOUD?🔊i already have problems with hearing and use headphones,so are you trying to make me deaf with all those LOUD commercials?!😢please don't make them LOUDER than the video! If u want us to be listening at all😢
The analogy of cheap petrol against more expensive fuel is incorrect as the octane rating of more expensive fuel is designed to be aligned with the combustion efficiency due to compression ratio differences and the emissions control mechanisms of LOW and HIGH performance vehicles. Putting high octane fuel in your family hatchback is both a waste of money and can also be detrimental to reliability of certain components that make up the power train. The ECU is programmed to optimise maximum efficiency of all parameters in differing conditions based on a recommended fuel type.
In regards to organic, let’s talk about all the horrendous chemicals that are used in traditional farming, they are carcinogenic. I will always choose organic and NON GMO
Interesting. You’re a lucky one. I got fatty liver disease from no alcohol! I’d hate to see where’d I’d be if I had added alcohol to my lifestyle. Good for you for quitting. That’s hard with any addiction or just changing what you’ve been doing if you weren’t addicted! For me it’s cane sugar.. I can’t have one bite
Persimmon is rarely available where l live. It is not ripe when you buy it. It can shrivel up before it gets ripe unfortunately. Caci fruit is another name for it.

Like many other listeners, PLEASE make these videos shorter and get to the main points and info alot more quickly Most of these videos could be done in 20 min. Is there a point of pay off if you creat such lengthy talks with a lot of filler?
Man has TAMPERED with Everything GOD created- from Food to Weather to Animals- to Genders, etc. what is has been and what has been is. Satan was in the beginning
That would mean he created all of the awful things in the world. The terrible things that are out of our control. And yet you get on your knees and thank him for this broken world. You must be a crazy person
Non alcoholic beers taste very close to the real thing nowadays, it si constantly being improved too. What's missing is the reward our brains expect after swallowing the liquids.
