I am from Jamaica and very much fascinated with different cultures and languages. I learned Spanish and Persian and now I am learning IsiZulu (Zulu) and the letters C, Q and X are pronounced with clicks. Although she speaks Xhosa the pronunciation of those letters are the same. The C sounds like sucking something from upper front teeth. The Q sounds like one would make if telling the sound a cork make when being pulled from a bottle. The X sounds like what you make when expressing regret or spurring on a horse.

Xhosa and Zulu are the same or interchangeable rather we can hear each other when we speak just that some words can mean different things

Hi thank you for this. Siki Jo-an is Xhosa and the song is sung in Isixhosa. 1of 11 official language in South Africa. The start is Ululatining a african cultural cry. Isixhosa is a language which is spoken with clicks. The original song from miriam makeba is better
