Let this be a lesson to everyone, don't trust your life with people that have money and fame, these people usually are the most Reckless people out there. Just because you give a man millions to dribble a basketball does not mean that the pilot he has hired is a responsible person, don't be Starstruck and let that Jade your common sense. This should also be a lesson learning that the media in this country thinks your life is so insignificant and the only person worth mentioning is their so-called star or Hollywood's figure. I hope these families sue the crap out of Kobe Bryant's family, this fool got all those innocent people killed.

@@markkulyas2418 I hate to say it, but I think this is an instance where money and fame blurred the judgement of a very experienced pilot.....and they all died as a consequence. Time will tell, but it certainly appears to be pilot error. I understand where you're coming from...

The S-76 is a very safe helicopter! Don't let what happened with Kobe Bryant's crash scare you. The pilot made a bad decision to fly in IMC conditions not the helicopter! The helicopter only does what the pilot inputs. This was not mechanical error, this was a bad judgment call.

Carolina Foods well said Carolina!!! I pray that people don’t become irrational by the events that took place. It was the actual weather conditions that played an intricate part of the crash that killed the 9 passengers and a detrimental mistake of the pilot.... unfortunately

@H Joseph, I totally disagree with your reply. Most helicopter flights are done in VFR flight conditions making them very safe aircraft. Lack of judgment with combination of IMC conditions makes for a dangerous flight. The Sikorsky S76 has been the leader in safety for a long time. Don't be so quick to judge an aircraft based on pilot error. The TAS system are still too this day optional.

@@tylerhaynes7812 It was all over the news how the pilot was descending down at a speed of 185 miles an hour in the fog. I heard a helicopter pilot say something this week which i think answers the main question. He thinks the pilot thought he was going up when he was going down in the fog. That's why he thought the pilot was descending so fast at 185 miles per hour. The Pilot was trying to go up, but didn't realize the helicopter was going down. The helicopter pilot said in a fog, you might not know if you're going up or down.

@@ericstevens2586 Arrogance? Yes, most likely!! (and possibly some ignorance as well). You have to be very *HUMBLE* in aviation. Otherwise, at some point in your flying career, aviation will definitely HUMBLE YOU!! (as, what happened in this case!)

Every youtube video of an S-76 has comments about Kobe Bryant. Have any of you gone on the comments section of a Blackhawk video and mourned the death of military members for a crash in the middle east? No. Shallow ass people. Ya'll think more of some basketball player than people that have been in harm's way for their freedom.

I just hope Kobe and everyone else in that chopper beside the pilot had no idea what was coming and hope no one felt pain. RIP.

Realistically, They probably had a horrible feeling in the last few moments. If a pilot asks for special permission to fly in bad weather, it would set anyone's nerves on edge; secondly, wasting 15 minutes in a holding pattern is tense, and lastly when all visuals are lost in clouds, it's apparent to everyone onboard. Pretty sure all were in a state of panic. Hillside may have come into view in last second.

Typically, the main rotor is responsible for most of the lifting force on a helicopter. In case you were wondering.

The Sikorsky is a huge copter. Oh my God. I can't imagine controlling that copter the way the eye witness described Kobe's copter at a low level for 15 minutes then flying into dense clouds with no instrument to guide and no co-pilot. Geez.

It was a very said day indeed, a great man died a family is gone and 3 children gone including Kobe’s beautiful Girl. I wish they would have decided to Drive that foggy day. RIP to all 9

He had lots of hours in the air. How many hours did he have in thick fog? There goes our chance of flying cars/human drones in LA! If Kobe’s pilot can’t get him to his destination safely in heavy fog, how will humans get into flying cars? Enjoy sitting in traffic.

Elon Musk is still building tunnels underground. Get you from LA to DC in an hour. Seems much safer until something happens. Imagine getting stuck underground...
@515ventures3
@515ventures3 4 года назад
Malki Tzedek Getting stuck in a tunnel seem about as awful as nose diving in a aircraft. I wouldn’t want to go under ground to travel. That’s not what I envision for future travel. I can imagine myself getting into one of the newly built human drones that I’ve seen on RU-vid and easily traveling just above the height of power lines or tree line. 50-100 feet off the ground. And flying 60 miles away to get some groceries and then flying home. A trip that would take me 45 minutes 1-way is now cut down to 15 minutes or less. That’s what I imagine for the future. Not only can I easily imagine it, but I can really feel it. But we need to master the understanding of gravity and make these drones incredibly safe and easy to use. We’re almost there. I think we need to by pass what we imagined a helicopter to be. I think that innovation has been very limited in thinking, inventing, and planning. The airplane has been a huge success in aviation. But there are still so many helicopter accidents. Just think of all the helicopter accidents in 2019 alone. Human Drones will walk all over the helicopter when it comes to safety and effectiveness.

I realizes you never know how your gonna go, and it's really not up to you, "if you can help it". But the older I get, I like to think of ways not to end up slamming into the ground or catching on fire, especially with someone else's in control. Only way I fly if it's a matter of life or death.
