My siblings, myself and my mother saw this movie at the end of 2016. It was utterly devastating and yet incredibly powerful, especially as a man of faith. This movie is a criminally underrated masterpiece. Also shout-out to Scorsese for taking time to highlight the Japanese actors.

Mr Scorsese, thank you for allowing us, the viewers, to journey alongside you in your endeavor of faith. His word says, “ if I be lifted up I will draw all men unto Me.” This beautiful work of art is a gift to humanity.

Exceptionally helpful short documentary, helping me understand the cultural complexities of the making of this masterwork as well as how the sets and physical environment became a dominating character.

Scorcese is one of the greatest directors ever. I hope he keeps directing into his 90s, like Clint Eastwood. As he's said, "I'm old. I read stuff. I see things. I want to tell stories, and there's no more time." I hope he has at least another decade and maybe more in him. Because, well, shit.

Watched this a couple weeks ago, very good. The cinematography was phenomenal. I enjoyed the theme and how it was metaphorical in a sense.

This movie should have gotten more support from the studio and theaters, but they love to see religion, especially Christianity, fail.

I don’t agree with that - I think that most people want to go to the cinema to be entertained. This makes you think and work really hard.
