Wow f really has me optimistic. Ragtag team with something to prove like the OG Team Silent. Great that they allowed them to take things that far in the trailer, means Konami will not be holding them back from doing some truly messed up, artistic and terrifying stuff. At first I was a little bummed it wasn’t playing off of the usual silent hill location and influence but I actually think in retrospective it’s great Konami isn’t forcing them to tread similar ground. The writer has written some of the best horror manga from a STORY perspective which is a very important thing for a silent hill game. NG and Death Mark are 2 of my favorite recent horror games largely due to the art and creature design. Let’s gooo!!

I know it was funny how it was worded. But Cristophe gans actually played the game. That's why he wanted to direct a movie about it, he even made snippets that he sent out to konami, in which konami liked. So they green lit the project. Hee actually plays the SH games and he was the one who pushed for it to have a movie not konami looking for a director.

I feel like there was a “wait, Konami is making games again!?!?” Moment that the internet completely missed. Everyone just acts like it’s perfectly normal that Konami is making games in 2022.

To inform 52:32 is a very resemblance shot to Hell Girl, anime. i will say alot of the visuals borrow alot from that series.

Just to clear up the movie confusion, return to silent hill will essentially act as dead space downfall did for the original game. It’s not a movie of silent hill two but something you watch to lead directly into the game and I absolutely cannot wait because I love the first silent Hill movie

I came for Huber and wasn't disappointed lol. Silent Hills fans are really bashing this stuff though, these games look awesome.

I feel like a stone cold cynic when it comes to series and its future, but Silent Hill F at least has me interested to see more. A scrappy little team that's really only been a support studio and might have something to prove could go either way, but Team Silent was initially in a similar position I guess. A proven Japanese horror author with unique style is a good sign, and a new setting and time period sound like the kind of potential risks I wish the series would've taken ever since 4 played with its formula but kept the general SH tone intact. For all the polish on display, the 2 remake honestly doesn't capture my imagination in the same way the potential of the smaller projects does. The Team Silent era really feels like lightning in a bottle and above all else I just want decent ports of 1 through 4.

I honestly don't think I've found a single Bloober game more than just okay at best, and that's not even getting into the much deeper issues with their storytelling others have brought up. Even Layers of Fear, which seems to be the go to "But everyone agrees that one was good at least, right?" game of theirs, was mostly just shallow and tedious to me. That said, I'm not writing off their SH2 remake. They do have the framework of the original game to follow and Konami overseeing them. My expectations aren't high, but from what we've seen so far I think it could turn out to be at least decent. Even if it ends up being amazing though I still just want a good remaster of the original, along with the other SH games.

In my book, the fact that Bloober Team is making the remake is the best possible outcome for a few reasons: - I like the visuals of Bloober Team games. They remind you of Silent Hill, but look much more modern and polished. So in terms of a visual upgrade, Bloober Team is a great fit. - While their games are overall enjoyable, I never liked the stories or outcome in them. They might have some good ideas on paper but fall flat in execution and most of all compared to the greatest Horror games in that genre, which are the early Silent Hill games, their stories are very flat. But for the remake, the story is already there and if they don't change anything of that core, they can't do anything wrong So if they don't change too much and just use the artistry and decency that's already in Silent Hill 2 and only repeat that, but with better graphics and more modern gameplay, this might be a great remake, imo.

Konami we've had Silent Hill 2 rereleased and now remade while Silent Hill one is still locked away on PS1. Please give us a remake or remaster of the game that started it all

It's nice that silent hill 2 is coming back. I'm worried about the other games though. Silent Hill is such a unique horror game and I feel like they are trying to do too much.

I'm so excited, my favourite series is finally coming back. At the same time i'm terrified that Konami is gonna go FUBAR on all of this when they'll have a bad day in the future and cancel everything, you never know with them :P Also, i wish they'd finally port og versions of classic games to modern platforms, so far we still only have: Homecoming on steam, SH4 on gog, and SH HD Collection, Downpour and Homecoming on xbox back compat.

very pessimistic about bloober team being the developer on SH2, they tend to always have strong art design and we can already see that but gameplay… they fall short on. townfall very intrigued have a lot of faith behind no code but not much to go off so far. forte or f is perhaps the one i’m most excited for, having ryukishi07 (when they cry) as a writer elevates it massively again not much to go off of but still.

Hate to be the Negative Nancy but Bloober Team's entire body of work has me concerned with them tackling hard, sensitive topics. The pessimism is well-earned; The Medium especially makes me worried of how they'll adapt SH2 or the stuff they'll add to it. F has my biggest attention, though; the character designer worked on Death Mark and NG and the writer did Higurashi and Umineko

bloober team mid unfortunately but f having ryukishi07 as the writer should at the very least be pretty interesting; the horror elements of higurashi, umineko, and higanbana's visual novels are very well done

20:09 No. You can't film a CRT image. Edit: After receiving a comment from @Charlie Wood I double-checked and it is actually possible. There is a very cool explanation by Modern Vintage Gamer, which explains how you can do it. But here is the rest of how I though, it was done: to do something like this, you have to put green color on the screen, film it (maybe with two while squares for tracking the movement) and put the video digitally on top of it. They also bended the image around the curved display and added a fake CRT-effect on top of it.

So... Missed the stream (it starting earlier than the listed time not helping), but on watching the Twitch Vod and seeing the reaction to the SH2 remake...? It's disheartening when, despite the valid criticism listed off and mentioned in chat, nothing was said about the 'hate' towards Bloober team aside from attributing 'most' of it to Technical issues. As if that is the only thing anyone has ever stated about their titles. And it smacks of the dismissive tone used around DMC:Devil May Cry's release where rather than acknowledge or listen to the valid issues the game had, people were pushed aside as being 'haters' and their reasons were solely because of Dante's hair. No. That wasn't DMC:DMC's issue at launch, just as Bloober Teams major issue here isn't just 'oh their game don't run well'. Bloober Team has a consistent history of handling mental health issues with all the delicacy of a drunken bull surrounded by red painted fine china. Not just a single game, and not even their oldest... But through multiple releases. And The Medium is THE literal worst example of it. Any game that both tries to make light of the abusers whilst also painting victims of said abuser as irredeemable and broken goods is *REPUGNANT*. That the only 'good' ending in the game argues that victims are better off dead, and the achievement/trophy tied to it practically celebrates and make light of it is abhorrent. Bloober Team makes light of and shows what feels to me an intentionally dishonest and narrow-minded view of the trauma around abuse as well as mental health should be proof enough that they shouldn't be touching a game whose themes are so specifically tied around... mental health, abuse, and trauma... There is a 1-to-1 issue there. They've had time to improve their handling of those issues and haven't, and before one says give them time? The Medium was last year. It's recent. And no amount of budget could fix writing like that. You can like their games, think they're great even. But ignoring and dismissing the most damning critiques to instead give voice to the most shallow and superficial complaints feels... well, shallow. It definitely rubbed me the wrong way, just as I saw a few others in the Chat Vod bring up too. The only... bronze... lining to all this is Konami 'might' be holding them to a very tight leash. But if all Bloober team is doing is just graphical updates and some tweaking? Literally any studio could have done that. And the rumors of them potentially making additional content (endings, areas, etc.) just gives people more valid reasons to be concerned given the above. Imagine Silent Hill 2 having an ending that denigrates and paints Mary as the villain and deserving of her fate, and James as sympathetic. Because that is the fear people have, and what Bloober team's handling of that kind of content have veered towards.

Idk stories that happen all in the characters head or primarily all hallucinations lack weight to me, cos there's no actual stakes. All the perimeters of the story can just be changed on the fly to serve whatever plot they wanna make up, regardless of logical story progression.

I feel like Silent Hill F is a Kojima troll. Why would they give the game to a support studio that made REverse? They are definitely hiding something. And they gave info about all the games except SH F. It's really weird.

People are going crazy over mere announcement videos, but we had an actual DEMO with Silent Hills, and that was cancelled... when we people ever learn to not give a company your excitement and money until they prove themselves adequately. By the way they are having multiple SH titles coming out, how does this not scream cash grabs? What other announces multiple installments for a single franchise at once? But Konami of course would do so because they only care about money and Pachinko machines. The explicitly stated many years ago that they were getting out of the video game industry in exchange for pachinko machines... yet people are embracing them with open arms over... a simple series of announcements... absolutely bizarre. People have the IQ of a goldfish.

I always said the franchise is only as good as the developers. The fact that the guys that made the Medium are in charge of the remake makes me super concerned. I might just skip this unless it on sale.

If Konami really wanted to do right by their fans, they would give us Silent Hills that Kojima and Guillermo del Toro were working on, not these cash grabs. How are these cash grabs? Well you can tell they are because Konami were all about Pachinko machines not too long ago, and the fact that they announced multiple titles all at once for a single franchise... if that doesn't scream cash grab from the notoriety of a franchise's reputation, I don't know what does.
