I was thinking of saving up and buying the Silent Night 6820EVS. Is it a good fire alarm panel and worth $3,500.

I would never in a million years spend that much on this panel, it's cool and all but no where near worth that price. I've had a few problems with them lately

I thought you already had one. Or was it a different series that looks remarkably similar.

he had an IFP-2000ECS which is the more proprietary version of the 6820EVS

@@vrryan6 why would silent knight make a more proprietary version of the same panel? Maybe they are trying to please security paranoid clients by making a panel option that is programmed in an overly secure manner. It honestly wouldn’t matter. Hackers broke into JCI (they’re definitely more proprietary than silent knight and Honeywell); who knows what they stole.

Simplex is not more proprietary with their panels more than honeywell, atleast with gamewell fci that is. The IFP-2000 came way before the 6820EVS did as well. The replacement for the 2000 would be the 2100. The difference between the 2100 and 6820EVS is huge. Not only in device count but the things it can do and the amount of Flexputs it has. It also has 2 SBUS terminals (4 if class B), 6820 has 1.@@achannelwithnopurpose1977

@@FireTech7 I was only saying they were more proprietary mainly because Simplex is not really friendly to third party companies. They like customers to use their proprietary service and have little to no 3rd party distributors depending on what country a client lives. They have made a big leap away in Australia and New Zealand with the 4100ESi. But everywhere else is still proprietary for non high end equipment. Honeywell has many dealers and is generally more friendly with certifying 3rd party companies to distribute, service, and program systems.
