They're amazing because just like their sound, they harken back to a day when people were consummate entertainers. They didn't just perform. They gave a full experience. They transported you. They didn't even need a music video. This is also not ALL about sex. It's about love and enjoying each other, too. It's so refreshing.
You said everything I felt so eloquently! Also the women in the video are completely dressed up, nothing sexual, and they look beautiful. They are singing to nothing but beautiful women not demeaning them. Love it!
@@nettie7598 that's EXACTLY what I thought. I'm an older man and I wish that ladies would understand that because you are a woman, you already are sexy, for me, you don't have to show EVERYTHING to catch my eye.
Still no one has got either of the references at the start of the video. First one to get them both right gets pinned.. Ps. Sorry about the annoying high pitched buzz. Need to sort my levels out
I absolutely love how this song was written for a (presumably) female audience but the best "fanboy" stanning is coming from males reactions. I think that speaks volumes about the genius of the songwriting, producing, and, most importantly, the selling charisma of the duo! Thank you for your honest reaction, was a "connective" experience as a viewer to see how delighted you are!💞🙏
Yes!! This is PURE JOY!!! My God!! Bruno Mars and Anderson Paak! Song of the decade!!! Aliens in space are grooving to this too!! Vocals, instrumentals and Oh Lord!! .. those transitions!!! You've just relit this 🔥 of pure happiness in us all.
One thing my wife pointed out about this track, is that it's very sexual but everything is left to the woman to make her own mind up. The boys lay out the options, and she either comes through the door or not. This is the opposite of toxic masculinity. It's not asexual, it's not limp, it's not watered down at all. But respect for the lady is at the fore. Great, great track. Can't stop listening to it. Very good reaction, bro. Your remark about some of the greatest ever being at it right now is so true. People just need to look, and they'll find gold everywhere.
We lose Daft Punk and then this duo emerges! I'm gassed. Both are beasts in their own right but this is a combo I never knew I needed and now I'm hooked! This is bananas!!!!!!!!
I came across this song by accident and I have been playing it nonstop. Silk Sonic is going to run through the Grammys next year. Song of Year, Group, Production, Album etc.
Totally understand what you mean about Bruno being underrated. Is not exactly underrated, but is like a lot of people "lowkey" like him, instead of highkey liking him? Does that makes sense? Like I don't think anybody dislikes Bruno, but not enough people pay him the attention he propably deserves. This guy is a living legend and I cannot wait for this album to drop. It's gonna be insane.
@@andresvimos3040 THE G.O.A.T (greatest of all time ) Sir Michael Jackson , introduced the planet to " SHA MONE " as part of his exquisite singing style . check out his music
I have spent the whole of this afternoon, watching 'reaction' video's, which I didn't know existed, until I heard Bruno/Anderson's track on the radio, and came to UT to watch, and I have had so much fun watching all you guys reacting, and still not sick of hearing the track, I am over 60, so 70's music is in my blood growing up on it, learned so much, Shamone !! so using that from now on, 'come on', thanks for pointing out Charlie, discovered Anderson Paak, absolute heaven I can tell you, even my cat love this track. Not one 'reaction' video had a negative, within the first few bars, they are jigging and moving, just like me, so this is my go to song first thing on a morning, to shake of the arthritis, and groove baby, lol, agree with your comments also Charlie.
This comment really made me smile a lot. Thank you so much. I'm so happy the song has a positive effect on you and that you are enjoying the reaction videos ❤️
This is perfection. All that talent blasting off and it's done in such a fun uplifting video. Who dances, sings, plays the drums and seduces the world with his smile and charm like Anderson? And what happened to Bruno? My God his voice just went to a new level and it's better than ever. I hope they start a new genre of music for the world to follow....Let's call it something like contemporary or futuristic funk. Love it!
You're so right! Bruno Mars is so under rated... his vocals are unreal, he's an amazing writer, producer and dancer! Thanks to him we still get that motown experience that we love 😍 I can't get enough of this track and can't wait for the album!
Agree with you. Bruno’s popularity and appreciation still doesnt suffice to how talented this man is. And Anderson Paak is a new favorite. This world doesnt deserve them together. Sooo effin good!
Good music has never been dead, it was just in short supply. Bruno is an old soul. When I watched Brunos Super bowl halftime show I knew there was more to come. Bruno, and Anderson what a great collaboration. I have to say great music never dies it gets passed down over the years.
Okay Charlie... I sat for a couple of hours and watched at least 9-10 Reaction videos all morning long of this song. And then I got to yours and that was the end of my journey this morning. After watching your reaction I "liked" and subscribed to your channel. Your channel was the only one I liked and subscribed to. There's something about the manner in which you did your review that was different from everyone else and I don't if it's the fact that you did your research and knew who Anderson was and also the new band name that Bruno and Anderson called themselves. Or the fact that you speak about music and these talented men with so much respect and passion for music itself. Not to mention the quirky British phrases you kept throwing in... I found them quite funny and seems to bring out your idiosyncrasies. So I do appreciate your honesty and knowledge of the subject matter along with the groovy vibe that you seem to bring to the table. Im here for all that!
Wow! What an amazing comment to read. Thank you so much. I really appreciate your kind words and your subscription too. You won't be disappointed. This is a fun channel where we explore all kind of things and my reactions are always 100% authentic and musically/emotionally insightful. Thanks for coming on board and enjoy the ride. I appreciate you 🌟
@@TheCharlieSmithChannel I have to agree with Sane. I've watched more than 15 reaction videos and yours was the best. I was really annoyed by the other guys who only spoke about Bruno and said nothing about Anderson Paak. That really really pissed me off. You on the other hand you acknowledged Paak's work and spoke high about the dude. Thank you man
@@malapemosuwe1751 thank you man. Yea I think a lot of people who aren't really into their music react just to jump on the gravy train. I'm more an Anderson Paak fan than I am Bruno if I'm honest but only by the slightest margin. Been a big fan of both for a while now
Charlie, I have to 3rd that!!! I watched a few hours of reactions and interviews of Silk Sonic and yours was the best one! You want to play that song over and over. The fact you went and put that coat on and shades means you were feeling just how strong that song just oozes sexy, LOVE, and your smile just says it all....almost. "Leave the Door Open" is a song you can't fully describe in merely words. You feel it! And to top it off, the fact that you added Jasmine Sullivan's new album coming out, I think you GET it!! And don't forget H.E.R.!! I believe Silk Sonic has put all other artists on notice they have to step up their game! Great reaction video!
@@TheCharlieSmithChannel Since you did you not correct Helltee, I will. The person Helltee denigrated is Michael Jackson. That slur is racial as I’m sure you know. My first time receiving your site in my inbox and the last. Everything you say from the point of not correcting a racial slur is credibility loss.
You should make allowances for the fact that not everyone knows that nickname within the context of its conraversial past. The actual problematic name was Wacko Jacko. Over here we use it in the same way that the Australians put 'O' on the end of everyone's name to create a nick name. Jacko isn't a racial slur let's get real for a second here. Wacko jacko was a name used by the press who had an agenda against him yes but it's no more a racial slur than crazy Cathy is a sexist slur. It may be insensitive to use it but that is different. But again, have a bit of perspective here and realise that the rest of the world doesn't have/wasn't exposed to the baggage tied up with that name. We just call him Jacko as a nick name. So before you go around cancelling people just realise that your perspective is far from the only one
This isn’t just another Bruno Mars song. This is a new band called Silk Sonic. Bruno Mars is a member of that band along with Anderson Paak. They’re a duo. Paak is half the reason this song is so good.
I love this song because I love the 70's all together and Bruno was preparing himself for this, Paak is the pair made in heaven for him musically speaking, loving that you are grooving and vibing with it. 😌
They've alluded to a potential live show in interviews. Could you imagine? A killer set with Anderson Paak and the Free Nationals, followed by Bruno Mars and his band, followed by everyone on stage for this collab. I'm waiting!
You said you were going to watch it at least 10 more times I love Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak I’ve probably watched at least 30 times since I’ve heard it can’t stop now all the words glad you enjoyed it also
If this isn’t the best song on the album I’m not gonna be able to mentally logically or emotionally comprehend the best song on the album PS. Great OutKast reference. Name a better first 5 songs of an album than ATLiens RU-vid people... I’ll wait.
bruno is one of those people that you will hear like someone complaining about how everyone throws flowers at him and theyll say something like "hes way too mainstream and popular st-" and at that point you cut them off and just say "GOOD"
Ughhh the old school feel it’s giving me plus their buttery biscuit of a voice like you said! Is golden!!! Yes! Bruno Mars is slept on! Lovvvvve him. 💕we need that Album ASAP! 😩😅
First off, love the accent and the eyes:).... I am glad you agree Bruno and Andersen are under rating!!! This song is PHENOMENAL... I have already listened it at least 8 times in one hour!! Have a blessed day too!
I love your reaction to this song, your love of the music! Men of younger generations...this is what real "panty dropping" songs sound like - unlike what I hear in rap music of today. It's time to UP your game fellas...lol. When it comes to sex..."Men are like microwave ovens (Quick to start) and we women are like regular ovens (take time to heat up)". Fellas, if you want to up your game you need to engage our hearts and brains by making us yearn for you, show us you'll cherish what we share with you, and take the time to heat us up with some romancing vision through your sexy words. Check out the lyrics and vibe of this song...it brings all those points across!! We women want to run into this room with the door open after hearing BRUNO and ANDERSON paint such a lovely memory of what can be. Everything in the studio is from the 1970s...the furnishings, carpets, colors, disco ball lights, equipment, instruments like the tambourine - even the reel-to-reel shown in the opening...all 70's vibe. The clothes they are wearing including on the girls, even the hairdos - vintage '70s. The "La la la la la" done by Bruno in the chorus and the "Woo Woo Woo" done by Anderson.Paak is a classic 1970's Motown sound as is the fade out of the song at the end. Although I am 63 years old and grew up with what I think was the best music of my generation, the 60's, 70's and 80's, I am still in my 30’s in my mind, heart, and spirit due to this kind of music. This song has such a great vibe!!!!! I sort of feel bad for the younger generations as most of their songs don’t evoke romance, yearning for someone, fantasizing of what could be… I sure am glad young folks are making such great music again and that younger people are getting the chance to listen and appreciate real singing.
studying the 70s greats. Awesome!!!!!! Beautiful RESPECTFUL music is on it's way back again.. Thanks Anderson and Bruno. The coat is appropriate Bro. Ready to leave the door open for the ladies after playing this.
whoah ! Didnt expect that after a long years since i heard Grenade and fall in love with Bruno Mars that this sweet feeling excite me again after hearing this song.Ohh i really love BM and i can never imagine Anderson’s voice could match the man sexiness.unbelievable.
Shamone (however you spell it lol) Mj and Bubblin’ Paak two more references in the beginning of the song that probably went over some people’s heads as well😂
Agreed Sir!!!! And I’m 40ish😉 Ed Sheeran..The GOAT Chris Stapleton…HER…Carrie Underwood…Kelsei Ballarini…I Mean Everybody that I listed here can literally saying any genre and they’re better LIVE!! That Is When You Know…
The only musician who his still highly slept on is Anderson .Paak and not Bruno! C'mon, Bruno has been all over the place. I have 1st heard of Anderson .Paak when Dr. Dre released his Compton album which features Anderson. Since then he already released 3 albums and still people just talk about Bruno. Yes, Bruno is great but him & Anderon complement each other vocally on this track and this is why this song is so smooooooooth....
Slept on just means that something about you isn't acknowledged as much as much as it should be. I did say that I acknowledge he is so exposed. Exposure doesn't mean you're not slept on though. Ps. Especially in the UK where I'm from
I Am guilty of sleeping on Bruno... Never heard of Anderson... But damned if both of them ain't done got me pregnant with this song...and I'm a 65 year old celibate woman!!! OMG!!!!....I'M N 💘
Wouldn’t say underrated about Bruno, but perhaps many ways under appreciated, which I think is what people who say that often mean. Bruno is worth like 175 mil bro, nothin to sneeze at. APaak net worth on the other hand is like $5 million. Surely he’ll receive more attention & definitely has stepped up his vocal game for a true collaboration that comes from a deep love of music, in particular, of certain genres. They also have hard times in their past as common ground as well. Great reaction mate! Side note, Michael Jackson said he used that ‘sha-mone’ as a tribute to Mavis Staples of the Staple Singers, who had hits, ‘I’ll Take You There’, & ‘Respect Yourself’.
What Bruno should do, as well as sonic, is a well produced musical tv special where he can showcase his versatility. He can interpret 50s 60s and 70s music with his spin on it. This would be free for the people. Another option might be one of those spectacular Las Vegas extravaganza that could pay to see on cable. So we can our fill of Bruno and company. What ya think?
😂😂 I think if you're going to call me out for then then there is WHOLE lot more work you're going to have to do I'm afraid. I'm not the only one out here haha. Thank you for watching ❤️
For a duet by 2 singers from the Philippines you haven't got around to yet - Sam Mangubat and Katrina Velarde covering Christina Aguilera's "I Turn To You". Many people say Sam's voice reminds them of Bruno, and Katrina's fan base is as loyal as Morissette's. Also check out her cover of "Reflection" from Mulan or Katrina Velarde with BuDaKhel (Bugoy Drilon, Daryl Ong, & Michael "Khel" Pangilinan) covering Boys To Men & Maria Carey's " One Sweet Day". For something a little lighter that shows another talent, see her "Kristina Velarde - Impersonating Singers 3 (Burn) (the one with the baby in her lap).
