Silky-Smooth American Hybrid Buttercream for Cakes and Cookies (contains heavy cream)

1-cup 2sticks room temp unsalted butter
1-cup unflavored shortening
Beat with a paddle attachment until literally like liquid silk....NO LUMPS.
Add
2 tsp vanilla
Pinch of fine salt
2 lbs powdered sugar
Will be dry and very thick at first but beat for 5 mins
Slowly add 5 TBS of heavy cream until you have the thickness you like.
