"PInetop's Boogie-Woogie" was the boogie-woogie that really turned the style into a long-lived international favorite. The original was recorded in 1929 but it really took off in popularity when Tommy Dorsey recorded a big band version in 1937. After that, it never stopped.

I went to an art school all of elementary, and high school where I played the trombone right through. Now in year 4 of college, felt I was missing something, it was music. Started piano lessons, and it's Boogie Woogie I want to master in 4-5 years time. This is inspiring

Boogie Woogie at its best - he is best at what he's plaing as he's doing it his own way. Be it boogie or jazz in general its always a very personal interpretation that come to play and he is demonstrating it as a master.

Nice ! For those who have been around a little longer: German boogie player Hans-Georg Moeller did Pinetop's BoogieWoogie very well too, unfortunately he died quite young. Have never seen any vids of him, he used to play at major boogie festivals in the 70's. Together with fellow Germans Vince Weber and Axel Zwingenberger as well as Austrian Martin Pyrker he was among the leading figures of the post-war European boogie woogie revival

with all fair respect : it is an original composition from Pinetop Smith : the very talented pianist, and singer, Pinetop Perkins covered it, and played great piano for /with Muddy Waters and many others and Silvan does a superb version of Pinetop Smiths' boogie woogie : so facts straight and hats off to all the forestry commission
