I got the vid titled "second oldest trick" in my recommendations and now I'm here. He is truly a great showman. It's not just tricks, it's the delivery and his way of talking which is just amazing!
Same for me, i'm now watching all of them, this man is amasing, probably the best magician i've seen, he is able to do his tricks and make you feel something others don't trigger. The story with the shoemaker and this one are probably the best magic tricks i've seen.
Chris, I'm convinced you're the greatest magician I've ever seen after watching this. I was already impressed by your wit, humor, and whole presentation, but this right here just takes it to a whole other level. Your ability to tell a story and touch the audience emotionally is something I've never seen from a magician before. I've never really seen storytelling at all in a magic act before. You're not just saying "Look what I can do! Look at how good I am!" as many other magicians do. The stories in this video make your audience feel happy and at peace. The magicians that get the nods for TV shows have all the big flashy props, the "beautiful assistants," the danger, etc, but none of them have quite the impact that you do. Sure, they are skilled and entertaining, and many have done extremely complex and impressive tricks, but they don't have the full skill set you do. I've never seen someone with the ability to captivate and connect with people like you can. You don't need any extra fluff, because the real magic is you. I hope you never stop what you're doing and you never stop making people happy.
This guy is such a legend!! 1. flawless magician 2. great storyteller 3. quick-witted 4. excellent sense of humor That's why I would not call him a magician. I'd say he is an awesome entertainer that happens to be able to pull off stunning magic tricks while performing. Can't stop watching his videos and I don't feel about it at all.
Well done, Mr. H. I’ve watched this a number of times, some when I’ve not felt the best. But each time a smile comes to me when watching this little segment. Suddenly, from a 63 year old man I’m now a kid again, watching a magician in amazement as they do their magic and holding me in complete and utter wonderment. I’ve always been blessed by not caring how it’s done....simply that it is done. That to me is the magic...
This guy shows that the best magicians don't need to master the most incredible skills to be considered great. Not that I'm saying he hasn't learned them. Hannibal, if you see this, you're my new favorite magician
So I've watched a few of your videos, and I am absolutely taken by your storytelling talent, you are downright genius performer, and I wish you ever visited my homecountry on a tour... But I also finally figured out, why someone so amazing is so obscure. Your talent is personal. It's not a bright and shiny talent that cows and awes masses, not that popular type of performer, relying on baser instincts and nature. You, sir, craft memories. And that strikes true into the hearts of the audience, but also, it does not attract attention, nay, it does not even tries to attract it. It is a bittersweet feeling of nostalgia, a tale shared by the fire side, it is, yes, that elusive taste of summer, a dandelion wine. But just like a good bottle of wine, it can't be drunk by many. It is shared in a close company of good friends, but quickly watered down if given to many, for we are not gods. Not even sons. You have a talent that is reserved to a small stage, and as much as it pains me to admit it, you belong there. So I am left there, on the other side of the world, in the cold expanse of Russia, wishing to share one day a room with you. And knowing it is doubtful, resolving myself to instead create my own personal memories in a group of friends. You had just touched a random man through the years and miles. I had never quite appreciated the gift of Internet as I do it right now. All the best to you.
This man's ability to weave a story is the real magic. The sleight of hand is just a bonus. I don't think anyone else in the business even gets close in that regard.
Usually 1-2 times a year I come back and re-watch all the videos. There are a lot of sides to magic or being a magician, but most are focused on making an impressive big show. While yours are also shows, you are not trying to make a big movie blockbuster, you are the kind of magician that wants to see the shine in childrens eyes, but those childrens are adults. The acts are always so nice, either humorous or with nice stories combined. It's what I would call the difference between working to showoff or working with your heart.
gosh, i love your stuff so much. this is the pure magic, the sense of wonder, the story, the humor.. some magicians break my brain while I try to figure out HOW they did what they did. you go straight for a soul and show exactly WHY you did what you did, and HOW becomes so tiny and irrelevant of a question in the face of magic... amazing stuff.
Man when this pandemic calms down and I can visit the US I will try to catch one of your shows. They are very pleasing to watch as you manage to not speed trough them and yet be able to make them work!
There is something so mesmerising about Hannibal. I stumbled onto him two days ago watching Penn and Teller, then a magical trail opened up where I wandered from one video to the next...lockdown is doing some terrible but wonderful things like rekindling my desire for stories. So few of us have memories anymore - our lives are weirdly bound up inside our cellphones, and few of us still remember what it was like to just let yourself be drenched in someone else's words, to zone out of the world's woes for some little while. Thank you for the story Hannibal.
Just discovered your work. Absolutely amazing work and captivating wit in your performance. So glad these are archived for more to see, I hope you continue doing what you love! Mad respect!
A couple of hours ago I found your channel. I do not know if you're gonna see this, I've been feeling down for a couple of years, rarely I find something that cheers me up, but your charisma, magic and comedy made me laugh for the first time in quite a while. I really hope you are good and away from any danger. You are incredible, talented, charismatic and seem like a wonderful person. Thank you very much mate and take care :)
Hannibal the Magician I just recently found this channel cause i saw your tell me a lie trick, and i just want to say that you’re one of the most versatile comedians/magicians i have ever watched. I look at the time as it dwindles till i have to go to trig and i see one of these in my recommended and i cant stop myself from saying “i know I shouldn’t but one more wouldn’t hurt.”
When I was a little kid, I gobbled up magic tricks and learned how to do them myself. These days, I find that part of me has faded, and I simply enjoy the ride. You, sir, are a magician in the truest sense of the word; no sleight of hand or misdirection can conjure the magic you have mastered.
I can't really put into words the impact that these performances have, but this one in particular hurts almost as much as it heals. Hannibal seems equal parts stranger and friend; he's captivating and genuine in a space that could easily lend itself to rote parlour tricks. I'm two days in but I recognize the need to space this out for both proper enjoyment and to respect the dedicated craft we get to see. Thank you Hannibal.
The genius of his magic is that he’s taking age old techniques that we’ve seen done a million ways and he’s putting his own spin on it. The story and the showmanship is what makes the tricks feel amazing
It's always amazing when an audience member "does" the trick for the magician, but that was one of, if not the single, best use of that trope I've ever seen.
If you're still checking comments on this one, thought I'd contribute my appreciation. It's all in the delivery, and you know that delivery doesnt have to involve fireworks and fancy in order to be impactful... brilliant stuff.
Its super humbling that there are still people like this, i used to know a few but they are no longer with us on this earth. with all the bs this really does bring me back to better times and better feelings of when i was a child.
I just want to have your power to connect emotionally with people like you, that's your magic. You don't need tricks for people to love you, you are the person they love. Tricks here is just what you love doing.
That is so sweet, you are such a talented, thoughtful person. Not only did he immortalize himself in your memories, but you immortalized him into the memories of many others.
This is so touching, thank you so much for this. It made me feel sad in the happiest way, thinking back to family that I’ve lost and the memories I have. I’m lucky enough to have memories with family like my great grandparents and I will forever cherish the smile on there faces when they saw me.
This video really moved me. I recently lost my dad, and now all I have is memories. How strange that youtube decided to point me to your videos, because this is exactly what I needed. Thank you, sir.
All the magicians and tricks I have watched over the years...and RU-vid kept Hannibal from me all this time🙈 great tricks and even better comedy - love the videos 💯
I tip my hat to you sir. Performing such jaw dropping tricks and yet being so humble, funny and captivating is marvelous. I have seen a lot of your videos and learned about your street days and how hard life was for you. The precision and accuracy with which you do the magic is a treat for the eyes and is a testament of the hard practice that you did to achieve this level of excellence. I am not sure if I can face my problems with consistency but I am definitely sure that your videos will continue to guide and inspire me. Thank you.
