Hannibal at the Magic Castle in Hollywood, CA. Filmed 12/8/10 at the 11 O'clock show A portion of the 'Strange Engine' Set Thank you for watching, Please like, subscribe and Share ... linktr.ee/MagicArtist17
I love that trick because he could do it in less than 2 minutes but the actual trick itself is the he tells jokes for 10 minutes before finally having the women count out the cards.
In my personal opinion, he is the best magician when it come to audience management. Card tricks aren't all that great without good storytelling, but he takes it to another level. You sir, are amazing.
Angelo Serrano Angelo I hope this comment finds you well but I figured I would expedite the answer... Ricky Jay stands alone in theater performance or close-up Magic and he's a student and has almost every Magic Book written from the 1600s and has read them all and has memorized 90% of all of them thereby elaborating on what he's learned dot-dot-dot throws Cards into Watermelon guy Ricky Jay
This guy did my work party and he was absolutely amazing. I thought the best tricks were when he made people's thoughts appear in the deck, similar to what he did with Leonard, but much more developed than just the material shown here. He did a trick that seemed to be 10 minutes long, every few seconds unleashing another prestige. During it, he used information acquired from the audience to direct him to the card he needed from the deck. I study a lot of sleight of hand, card setup, flips, multi-card pulls, etc... and he's the first magician I've seen that I haven''t been able to piece together the combination of tools required to execute his tricks. Its almost enough to make me think he had shills, but they were my friggin' coworkers and I even I gave him information that led to a card needed for the story. Great stuff Hannibal!
In the other video with the other ladies, it's funny how he mixes do you want magic or sleight of hand, which will work with any trick. Very clever to grab a laugh.
Thank you. How could you tell that Mr. Lovick was in the audience? The very next night, Jack Goldfinger and Max Maven were in the front row ... that's intimidating!
3:28 he loads the King of Hearts from the Deck (I lie sometimes, e.g. the card wasn't in the deck) and places it below the card on the table. Great sleight of hand, but easy to spot if you know what to look for.
"I lie sometimes" I feel like this is the key. I won't spoil it for anyone else but I'll just say this was an amazing trick and your charisma and banter are top notch. You've earned yourself a fan. I wish you the best.
I love the fact that his magic is great and he’s so laid back, it’s almost like the tricks work by accident, I personally hate these big build up sequences some magicians use with fancy lights and pyrotechnics and stuff, it’s much more relatable and enjoyable when you can watch someone just doing great tricks care free. Only found you this morning Mr. Hannibal, if you ever come to England to do a show I’d absolutely love to come and see you. Keep up the good work!
Me (2020): "Three of Hearts" Leonard (2011): "Three of Hearts" Hannibal: "And here's your card!" I didn't think magic tricks were supposed to work across time and space. I guess this is subliminal messaging??? I'm really impressed you can make people's choices that predictable!
Same here! First pick was 2 of diamonds. When he said "Pick a completely different card," I CLEVERLY thought to myself: "Hahah! He's expecting me to pick some number far away from my first pick, like a 10 or a face card, so I'll be Smart (TM) and pick the very next number, a THREE!" Then I also said to myself, "And I'll change the suit to really mess with his brain, but I won't go for the other color, no, because that's what suckers do! I'll keep it red and pick Hearts! THREE of HEARTS, that's my new, incredibly sneaky, ultimo-obfuscated choice! Now HE'S the Sucker! Enjoy those fava beans and chianti, Hannibal! They've been deep-frozen, like the best dish of revenge....EVER!!!!! HAHAAAHAAHAAA" Then he shows the 3 of hearts and I cry. Bravo, sir. Brah-voh!
Came for the magic, stayed for the entertainment. You carry yourself well, and the way you interact with your crowds is just fun. I've only discovered you within the past hour of posting this comment, but know that you've made yourself a new fan, Hannibal. I'm actually pretty shocked how small your base seems to be (in the grand scheme of things), but seeing that other people apart from myself have found you in the same way of random RU-vid recommendations within the past month or so is very encouraging. . . You're a talented man with a passion that brings many people joy. Keep at your craft and never lose the love.
The best magician I’ve ever seen and only 25k subscribers? Just goes to show that numbers don’t mean everything. Also a 7 year old video and you’re still active in the comments, you truly are an awesome dude
I hear you, should have many more followers, but to get RU-vid numbers these days you have to be affiliated with Chris Ramsay it seems like, He’s kind of revolutionized things a bit, although not a great stage performer even though he is talented
@@lokitakahashi3042 thats why he has millions of followers. always adapting his content. im a fan of ramsey but have massive respect for people who continue doing the same content they did 5-10 years ago because its their passion regardless of views
the less talented you are, the more subs you seem to get tbh..youtube is a joke. i mean like what fucking talents does jake paul, pewdiepie and all them idiots have ... nothing, yet this guy is arguably one of the best magicians in the world and doesnt even have 50k subs
Just randomly came on this and just wow. The showmanship and crowd control is absolutely top notch. This + your other videos show you're and absolute wizard of slight of hand. Amazing sir.
Best trick ever..no not the cards. The fact that Hannibal makes an amazing video and it stays hidden for 9 years only to be seen in a bunch of feeds within the last month. AND...still likes the comments...Bravo!
I cannot like this hard enough. I don't know why RU-vid is suddenly showing me these recordings nine years afterward but I'm very thankful I got to see them now! Hannibal you're AMAZING and brightened my day!
"I love you because you're watching every move and really following this and I do appreciate it". You sir, are a true magician, one who doesn't get a thrill from people laughing or making polite eye contact the whole time but you get a rush from knowing you fooled someone who was trying their absolute best to catch you. I think that even if I never saw any of your other work, that line alone makes you easily one of my favorite magicians.
I have never seen a magician with such a conversational style. It's like you're doing this with friends every time, it works best in these more intimate settings I imagine
Just found you tonight, because the Algorithm suggested the Second Oldest Slight of Hand Trick. I've a lot of catching up to do it seems. This, my most excellent sir, is nothing short of amazing. Truly, a more wonderful bard I cannot envision. Like a cross between Jack Black and Orsen Wells.
A decade on this pops up in my recommended and I couldn't be happier. I *think* at one point he finds any card at any number but other than that I'm pretty much bamboozled. What a sickeningly talented and funny guy.
There are no words on this planet that could possibly perfectly decribe the beautiful and amazing experience that I have just witnessed while watching this video. This? This is blessed!
I found him on accident when I looked up magic on RU-vid. He's one of the most talented magicians I've seen. The thing that differentiated him from the rest is his story telling. It legitimately makes me laugh and it makes all the tricks all the better. Good luck and please keep up the good work.
Chris, I just want to say that while I have never had the pleasure of going to one of your shows, I love every video like this. The charisma and humor in this routine is so enjoyable it is unmatched. I love it so much!
I don’t know if you still read the comments, but I just wanted to say what an absolute pleasure it was to stumble upon your YT channel. I used to be an amateur magician back about 10-15 years ago. I gave up the hobby many years ago, but I still fiddle around with a deck of cards every now and then. By complete coincidence I found your performance of the cups and balls, and I have gone down a rabbit hole of watching all your performances here. This has given me such a wave of nostalgia - I forgot how much I loved watching magic shows when I was a teen. It’s hard to explain the feeling, but it almost reminds me of being a child completely mesmerized by watching their first trick. Thanks for bringing back so many fond memories. ❤
I believe this is the 5-6th video I've seen, of your great routine. *flawless* and so *dynamic* i love your crowd control. Have a great time, and all the best to you in the future. -Best Regards Thomas
I've been binge watching videos from the Magic Castle, I can't stop smiling magic just makes me feel so happy I felt the need to write this comment and let y'all know :) Greetings from Mexico!
Ok this performance was actually perfect. I like the small audience and this kind of more intimate feeling. Like its just a few friends hanging out having fun.
Hannibal, I was lucky enough to watch you do your excellent version of the cups and balls about ten years ago at Reynolda Gardens. Flawless, and thoroughly entertaining. It is so cool to see you at the Magic Castle! Fantastic. I love your presentation style.
I have to say I have only just gotten into preforming magic and you are my inspiration for a lot of the jokes and rise and inflection I have worked into my act I am so excited to preform it in front of my friends and family I wanna thank you soooo much for making me laugh each and every time I watch one of your performances it would be an absolute dream of mine to eventually get to meet or even preform a trick for you thank you so much for being the awesome performer you are
May I suggest for your first trick you learn to perform magic rather than preform magic? That red squiggly line that is under half the things you write before you hit reply? That's not a decorative thing you know. It means you ballsed up. :)
This is so enjoyable! I don't know what brought me here, but now it's Sunday night 3 a.m. and I am binge-watching your videos for the last six hours. You, sir! Are! Amazing!
This man was made for entertainment I can barely sit through most tv shows for more then 15 minutes and I've been binging this guys tricks for the last 2 hours. Class act
WHEN HE ASKED TO RETHINK OF ANOTHER CARD I WAS THINKING 3 OF HEARTS AND HE SAID THAT OOOOOHHHHH AND HE JUST HEARTED IT ON A 9 YEAR OLD VIDEO JESUS CHRIST THIS LEGEND
Such a master! Not only incredible magic but excellent command of the audience. Everyone is in shock at the tricks that he has to remind them to applaud, I keep realising I'm sat here with my mouth wide open lmao!
Mate you are epic, just been watching your video's and well the cup trick and this one are really the best! Hope you will get to where you want to be mate cause you are awesome!
Pure entertainment from start to finish. The corny jokes are as good as the slight of hand, and together, they're simply brilliant. I could watch you all day. One of the best magician's I have seen in a long time. I'm guessing there's more practice on display here than one run through in the McDonald's drive thru on the way to the show.....There must be at least a weekend's worth........
Hello Chris. Not sure if we have met before, if we have its been in passing. I came across this clip and just thought I would drop a comment. When someone has a routine that has clearly been thought out, polished and is very powerful ....it deserves praise. Very good job, j thoroughly enjoyed it and encourage you to keep moving forward as its obvious from this clip...your heading in the right direction. Keep up the good work. Tremendous props my friend. Have a wonderful holiday.
Ben...you're giving me ideas for when I'm rich! Why the hell not have a school of witchcraft and wizardry? Lol. It will be a regular middle and high school, but also instead of regular sports and other extracurricular like drama or whatever, it's magic and acrobatics. Then we release those witches and wizards on the muggles and their real special power is the ability to get laid a lot. 😄
Now that's what I call entertaining! He knows how to put up a great show and that's one of the key parts of showing sleight of hand. Truly amazing and inspiring for young magicians like me.
I am blown away. Your skill and charisma is amazing. Every presentation of yours is so entertaining. Thank you very much for cracking this grin on my face.
@@thesubhranil1 that's a cheap explanation. is that the only explanation? is there not a "psychology" to this thing? like the common cards that people think under pressure kinda thing? because i thought of 3 of hearts too, you know? i wanna refrain from audience plants especially with this guy's tricks
How the hell did I find out about this guy only now. Amazing storytelling, hilarious, and the tricks are really well executed. He deserves much more recognition!
Do you *really* want to know? cuz if so, make 9 other comments after this one, I'll explain the last trick after, so that people don't just see it on showing the reply. But, really, why not enjoy the magic?
This guy is just so polished and engaging. I don't even try to figure out what he's doing when I watch his videos because it's so enjoyable to just watch. And at the end of each performance I realize that I've been smiling the whole time.
Hannibal, just wow. I saw your cup routine yesterday and could not stop watching. You perform from High-level magic to even some of the low tier stuff, but your comedy, charisma and just personality are the best. I love how you tell the stories and how you fit jokes in almost everywhere. Well done, I think I found my favorite magician.
Between the cards, the humor, and the quick wit this has to be the best act I've seen in a long, long time. Thank you sincerely for the laughs, they came at a very good time.
