This is a 2/4 drop. With. 4/6 you don’t do anything with the shackles, but you do need a C- notch in the frame, shorter shocks, and a new tail pipe. I did mine without removing the rear end.
@@ericdata1 if ur stock in the front and just throw 2inch shackles in the rear it honestly doesn’t ride different to me, just did it on mine 2 days ago
Forced to go off of this install video because Rough Country seems to have very recently deleted theirs right after I bought my kit to lower my truck. Coincidence, I think not. Anyways, I am pretty mechanically inclined and you took far too many unnecessary steps but at least it gives me something to go by. Lol
get a tread rod from the hardware store, washers, nuts and from the bottom corner of the bumper to the top radiator support they have a hole go tru there, and I bet it never sag again
so today i started from 8:30 am and finished about 10 at night but i put one hanger and shackle on and the hanger on the gas tank side doesn’t align with the holes where u grind and hit out with a punch and hammer could you help me out by telling me what i did wrong ?
hello i have a 2014 silverado 1500. i purchased 3 inch ndrop shackles they are too long is it good to cut the bed so they fit or just install new drop hangers and is it proper to reuse factory hangers if they are in goo shape ill just be turning them over or should i by new ones thnx so much
I have 02 silverado extended cab I bought rear 2in lowering shackles at autozone and rear lowering 2in hangers online with 2in lowering springs online for the front looks badass..
@@dleyba8074 a lil late but i got a 03 extended cab g and i’m trynna see what yours looked like with all that. if u got a pic or vid of it lemme know plz
Brooo I’ve fixed this guys bumper so many times it’s not even funny. Bad part is all of them weren’t his fault. At this point I told him to just get a complete steel bumper so all he gets is a little scuff 😂
So the rear front hangers u don't do anything, just the rear hangers n shackles change out. I just got a 99 sierra, I want this 2/4 drop too, what is best for the front, drop spindles or drop key? I have both. For the rear I just need the shackles n hangers for it.
Hey bro so I got 2" drop shackles for my 04 single cab chevy. It still looks higher from the back tho. So I order the hangers 2"drop now. But my hangers say they go in FRONT of the rear leaf springs can they be put in the back like you did?
No the hangers are different. The holes on the front hanger are staggered and the holes on the rear hanger are parallel. The front hangers are designed to drop the truck more but the rear hangers will lift the truck. The is because there is not much clearance in the back between the bed and the rear hanger so the rear hangers can only lift it
@@elgallobuilt6841 no bro the 04-07 crew cab front leaf hanger is welded on, so you cant change them youre forced to do flip kit and then flip leaf rear hanger
I’ve preferred to go ahead and do the complete control arm because it’s a lot quicker. Just two bolts 😂 But I didn’t realize the parts store didn’t have any in stock and he had already ordered them so had to wait for them.
I’m trying to replicate a reverse level on my 2015, I installed 3” drop shackles but it still has a rake of 1 to 1 5/8ths will it be bad if I take out the rear blocks to get it level? Will it mess up anything in the long run like with the bump stops and stuff?
Not sure if there is a way to lift it one more inch if you have the drop control arms. You would have to put back the original control arms and swap them for a 1” drop spring and the 2” drop spindle. Only other option is getting smaller tires but that would also give you less ground clearance.
Yes you need to use stock shackles with the rear lift hangers. If you want to do a 4” drop in the rear you just need the 6” flip kit, a stock shackle and the rear lift hangers. Second option is doing front 2” drop hangers and 2” rear drop shackles.
I have a 99 nbs gmc I wanna drop it more in the rear I have 2 inch shackles if I do flip kit would I need a notch? N could I use the oem u joints for the flip kit?
Yes you will need a notch. An flip kit drops it 6” so with your drop shackles you’ll be at 8”. The kit will come with new u bolts to be more secure. I would recommend a step notch is your going as low as 8” in the back 👍🏽
07 sierra classic bought 4 in drop for rear , my question is if the shims are separate from the kit or usually are the ones at the old knes from the truck.?
Alright guys I needs yalls help, I have a 04 silverado thats has a 4/6 drop. Im wanting to go 2 inches up in the back and front. I see that the front has dropped coil springs with 2 inch spindles. The rear has the axle over the leaf springs (im assuming this is the 6 inch flip kit?) Whats the best way to achieve a 2/4 drop
put the stock coil springs back on for the front. for the rear, flip the axle back like stock, buy lowering hangers and 2 inch drop shackles, that will give you the 2/4 drop that you are looking for.
@@elgallobuilt6841 Did they send you the shims with the kit? I have a 2012 GMC 1500 Denali AWD crewcab. I want to do a 2/4 drop on it but not sure about the shim size. I would go lower but I still pull my boat with it.
