On ScannerDanner Premium I will bring you right into my classroom at Rosedale Technical College. You will find page for page lectures taken right from my book as well as exclusive classroom type case studies. What is so special about these classroom case studies? I pull live problem vehicles directly into my classroom and we troubleshoot them in real time, using and applying the theory and testing procedures we learn during the classroom lectures. There is no better on-line training of how to troubleshoot automotive electrical and electronics systems anywhere!

I always envy you for having a brother you can do projects with and talk cars. Most of my family are pencil pushers that never get dirty.

Important to point out the routing of the brake hoses and ABS harness. Lift is nice but braking is important, thanks for showing that aspect of this install.

A mig weld is and can be as strong as a stick weld if done properly. The only major difference is mig is a lot less wasteful. For something like your doing a dual shield or Flux wire would be best as they are more suitable for welding on frames.

and I'm doing that it creates added Stress on those components leading to premature failure.

I didn't notice any springs, I guess they're using torsion bars instead, right? I never really gave that any thought!

Here we go again. Those uppers are different than on my 96 but everything else looks the same. I hope you extended those shocks mounts or they will top out in a bad way. You should also make sure there is a 1/2" bolt and not a 7/16" bolt going through the top of the shock. You will also need to align the front end after you get the height right. You need about 1/16" between the top out pad and UCA.

Great watching you two guy's working together. I could easily get spoiled . I kept thinking of doing things in a more time consuming way forgetting you have someone to help you. I've worked alone for so many years this is really neat. do you guy's have a video were you really go at it or do you usually get along so well. Keep going.

Click hahaha who even uses torque specs for this kind of stuff. You would be there all day if you did. Typical engineers not living in the real world. You guys are awesome. Wish my brothers and I got along and liked cars like you guys do. At least my dad and I are mechanics and can do this stuff together.

hey Paul, enjoy your vids greatly. I have a good video request for us nooks and DIYers. Can you please make a Snap on Vantage (classis) tutorial video or series from A to Z to how to test certain things on the car with it. I will be purchasing the "classic" as my first REAL tool for diagnostic work. I do know Snap On doesn't support it anymore, but it is a great learning tool and working tool. I have a uScope already, plus your eBook and Print book,as well as many other items I've seen in your videos on site and at Rosedale College. I think the series will give noobs like me the confidence to further their educations. Keep up the great work and I'll keep learning. GB!

I've always heard from a myriad of technicians that Lifting a vehicle is a Bad thing because it changes the suspension and steering geometry
@Blazer02LS
@Blazer02LS 8 лет назад
+treluvsjay1 It will IF you don't correct for it by either using different A arms or dropping the mounts for the arms down. This kit moves all the components down to correct those issues. One thing that lifting does that is hard to compensate for is changing the COG of the vehicle.
@aserta
@aserta 8 лет назад
+treluvsjay1 Those technicians are referring to your average Joe, taking apart his running train, turning the torsion bars (if he has them) adding bigger springs (or if he does the reverse, chopping them), bigger rims, bigger tires. In that situation, everything changes, everything is strained. But with something like this, where a kit has been prepared and everything is attended to, the whole system is reset. Yes, there are some, things that will be affected like the center of gravity, the way the shafting works, if the car is diffed, you will loose some HP (the more differentials you run, the more horses you loose, position is also crucial, you can't just slap a diff anywhere) etc. However, like i said, infinitely better to do it with a kit provided by someone who has done the math for you, then you're assure (within reason) that you will retain more than enough functionality to have a decent car. If you've ever watched the old Top Gear UK and have seen the episode where the three stooges race cars across a mountain (forgot which, it's the one where they climb so fast they loose oxygen and start feeling weird) that episode illustrates perfectly what happens when you lift up your car (even a 4x4, which has some leeway) and don't do it right. Hammond's car loose a ton of horse power for example, it's sluggish, the speed-o doesn't function right, gas mileage is a method of measuring how fast you'll need the next petrol station, the likes. Fun episode. Anyways, hope my rambling helps, that's my two cents on the matter. TLDR: lifting is ok, if you do it the right way, if you don't, well, you've junked the car, sometimes for good.
@shawnbauman5463
@shawnbauman5463 8 лет назад
+aserta Exactly, 90% of lifts are done wrong. I've saw more that are wrong than that are right. People are just ignorant or don't care. It costs more money to do it right as well. I deal with the opposite as well people slamming cars into the ground. If your suspension cannot move it cannot work. A slammed car on stupid stuff coilovers does NOT handle good regardless of what they might think.
