Nice review. Both trucks are pretty nice. The Trail Boss is a smash hit for Chevy though. I don’t know the sales numbers but it’s got to make up a huge percentage of the 1500 sales. You see them everywhere. As for acceleration, well it looked pretty close. So I’d say regardless of which one actually won it would be too close to call it based off seat of the pants. You’d have to use a stop watch or actually line them up to see the difference. The fuel economy thing is a little bit of controversy for the Ram. It uses as you said a standard non Rebel Ram to get its EPA rating. TFL made a big stink about this when they had a long term Rebel a couple years ago. Chevy on the other hand does rate the Trail Boss separately from a standard Silverado however and they say it’s due to the 2” lift, different lower air dam and the tires.
@JB_WhoWork
@JB_WhoWork 2 года назад
Good stuff, I believe I heard from you that RAM uses the standard fuel numbers from the Rebel 👍🏾

@@JB_WhoWork Yeap. Interesting that Chevy actually went down a half size in tires now for the 20” wheels for the Trail Boss. A typical Silverado with 20s has a 275/60/20. The Trail Boss though had 265/60/20. I guess they done that to keep the tire diameter closer for the 18” wheel options (275/65/18).

Great review…. I had a 2018 Rebel, loved the truck overall, I sold it due to the constant recalls and issues. I now have a 2020 Trail Boss and absolutely love the look and drive of the truck. The Rebel, hands down had better interior but overall the Trail Boss is a better ride and looks great. Enjoyed your video.

The RAM looks better, the GM probably is better (longer lasting), and I'd take a Ford or Toyota over both of these options any day! 🤣🤣🤣
@abeg9959
@abeg9959 2 года назад
You definitely don't wanna get s Toyota right now. They have so many problems with the new Tundra 🤣. Ford is good but not compared to the interior of the ram. Reliability wise, you'd wanna go with the Ram if you had to pick between the Ford or Ram. Ram definitely has done an amazing job on there newer vehicles.
@wartowne
@wartowne 2 года назад
Everything you described on the Ram stability and steering feel is related to the those GoodYear tires. I had the same tires and hated them for that exact reason.
@billjamison2877
@billjamison2877 2 года назад
The Rebel was designed as an Off-Road truck as is the Chevy. The tires on both trucks require nobby type tires for off road use. If you put less aggressive tires on the truck, its performance off-road will not be as good. When you buy an off-road truck, this is what you get. If you don't like the tires, get a Bighorn or a Laramie with typical road cruising tires. The Rebel and the Chevy are designed that way for their intended purpose. I think you missed the point of these vehicles, off-road fun not highway cruising!

Two American trucks? ... where? RAM was Italian owned before it became "Stelantis" (-owned) or whatever. GM is around only because of bailouts and Ford's not here today, therefore at best you have 1/2 an American truck 🤣🤣🤣

Nice review JB. I like RAM trucks but also GM vehicles as well. Love the Tahoe & my wife drives an XT6. Know the road well. Rt 15. Drove it every day for three yrs from Frederick to Harrisburg. I used to stop at the store at your turn around periodically to pick up some adult beverages. Loved to eat at the Shamrock which is just up the road a little further. Great food! I have a 2wd Ram Bighorn quad cab. 5.7, no e-torque, 3.92 rear, street tires with 18" rims. My city mileage varies wildly depending upon where I am. Some areas, with higher speed roads and shorter stop lights, I can get 15-16 mpg. Other areas it will drop to about 13. I've recently taken a trip of 450 miles and averaged 21.4 mpg. Averaged about 73 mph, cruise control set for most of the way.

nice review... i had a 22 trail boss custom and i loved it until i saw how much a full tank of gas got me. 345 miles to empty when i traded it in for my 21 rebel on a full tank it marked 495 miles to empty. that won me over because i drive to work everyday and the trail boss turns off at 95 mph when the rebel hits112 before shutting off. i have to pass semi's on daily at 2 or 3 at a time too

You are right about the gas mileage I get about 11.5 average but I have a heavy foot lol, and have installed 34.7 inch tires aftermarket tires and 20inch wheels, pulsar lt and muffler and resonator delete. The traiboss 6.2 with 10 speed is an absolute rocket souch fun to drive. Not to knock on the Ram but to me it seems way way faster iny current setup than my buds rebel.

The interior of the Chevy trailboss sucks even with the new digital upgrades. If you going from a 21 to a 22 trailboss then yes it's a good upgrade but it doesn't stand close to the 12 inch screen and other features of the Ram Rebel. Chevy was late with the upgrades

First, great comparison, love both of them. I use at least 87 octane in my Ram for better mileage. Need to compare 6.2 to 5.7 for a more accurate mpg comparison. Rams up 45 hp and 20 tq. Interesting to see engine rpm at 60 to compare final drive ratio as well. My 3.92 Ram is a gas guzzler. It does about .5 mpg better in town compared to hwy due to the eco mode engaging which it never does on the hwy.

No I dont think you should compare the 6.2 to the 5.7. It more like if they would put the 6.4 hemi in the 1500 then you would compare that motor to 6.2 motor. I think 5.7 compared to the 5.3 is right on the money comparison. Just my opinion
