I feel like it could really get dangerous

I know I don't think I have ever seen Annie truly side against her dad like this before. Kiyo and Annie were so close growing up. It is too bad Shabani sees it as a threat. I understand the dynamic it is just sad. In The US Winston as old as he would discipline Frank I think his name was. They had to seperste Frank or he was going to hurt Winston he is old. Even so Winston would hear Frank in the other section and mourn him not having contact. Frank's little brother used to go between sections to play with Frank I don't know who the bickering between people who watch the family are. I am here to watch the gorillas. Everyone has a different view of what they see. The people caring for this troop and making decisions are who gets the final say as to what happens. All the bitching and bickering by people on RU-vid watching a gorilla troop won't change that. That is the problem with the wotld these days. People are so busy with THEIR viewpoint, they feel the need to cram in down other people's throats. Gee I don't know how about growing up, being greatful someone takes the time to makes these videos so we can see this family. I have an opinion, and others don't agree with me. I could care less. Some of us have been watching this family since the start and know their dtnamics a little better. It doesn't mean we know what is going to happen, the zoo controls that we don't! I get frustrated at the way things go too. At the end if the day calling each other names, or that they have mental issues ( which is no ones business) and IF true scoffing at people are why people don't get help. Watch the videos enjoy then, and GROW UP!!!! Don't people know how to agree to disagree and respect each other, are people SO self absorbed these days they can't grasp the concept. Gawd

Exactly, Kiyo is a teenager who is becoming an adult. Shabani is a loving but overprotective father.Maybe he is overcompensating because he was separated from his father at a young age.

@@GrandRegentSScratch Western Lowland Gorillas usually only have one-male groups. The behavior of Shabani and Momotaro is natural. This is not bullying. They become more intolerant of their sons and try to push them out. I think that Shabani and Momotaro are quite patient with their sons. In freedom, the sons either leave on their own or at the latest when the fathers no longer tolerate their presence. Unfortunately, Kyomasa and Gentaro have no option to leave and this is stressful for both fathers and sons. The behavior of Gentaro and Kyomasa is also normal. None of the gorillas are to blame.

Agree...if a puppy can be house trained, you'd think these guys could learn to use a hole in the ground

I think they would have to be trained early on to use the restroom in one spot. Unfortunately, the zoo keepers don’t go in their enclosures, while the gorillas are in there, for safety reasons, so they aren’t being trained

I believe gorillas can be taught quite a bit. Look at the numbers challenges the Momataro troop do and the snack box where they use sticks to get treats. Shabani troop needs some challenges like that. I'd put drums all around so they could beat on them with different tones

Shabani is still health and young if he was in the wild his brother kaoyo is older than him and still a very viril and healthy one and Winston that just died at San Diego zoo was around 50 yrs.. age isn’t important if in the wild if the silverback is still strong and healthy!

@@stevemorris6790 You are correct for gorillas who live in zoos, (with the exception of silverbacks being prone to cardiomyopothy). In the wild, gorillas live to around 30 years old. Shabani is strong and healthy _because_ he's in a zoo and has immediate access to vet care, gets a balanced diet and free of dangerous internal parasites. On average, captive gorillas live 40 to 50 years, with several reaching 60+. We cannot expect captive and wild gorillas to have the same lifespans or experiences. Also, both Shabani and Kiyo are experiencing genetic and hormonal processes that were honed over 4 million years. They are extraordinary intelligent, but we cannot explain to them _why_ they feel as they do. So males end up under stress and can develop heart problems. So the sooner they can find a new home for Kiyo the better, so Shabani can continue being the picture of health.

Nene always tried to harm Annie when she was a baby / kid. If Annie really wanted to harm Nene she would’ve by now

Annie was introduced into the family after being raised by humans. Most wild animals will not accept this and Nene was no different.

Served daily are cabbage, lettuce, tomatoes and eggplant. Meals that change with the seasons are Italian ryegrass and sorgo. Served 1.2 times a week is yogurt. Rarely seen on the menu are bell peppers and coconut
