@BabyChili1......Yes my dog was on Denamarin for awhile but didn’t seem to help. I used the liquid extract which helped but not enough. Then went to the powdered form which she is currently is taking 3x a day with her food. We don’t know exactly why her liver levels were so bad. Could have been her food.., I switched to a homemade diet ... or it could have been her anxiety or both . She’s been taking Milk Thistle for 3 years.

I feel like a Silly marine watching this particular episode about this great herb.. Excerpts: Keep in mind that your liver filters out milk thistle very quickly, so repeated doses throughout the day are necessary to experience the most benefits. What makes silymarin in milk thistle a unique powerhouse for the liver? 1. Reduces liver and kidney toxicity 2. Used to help combat alcoholism naturally 3. Counters toxicity related to chemotherapy 4. Prevents liver fibrosis and decreases liver inflammation 5. Modulates insulin resistance and helps reduce liver fat 6. Neutralizes poison from poisonous mushrooms 7. Regenerates liver cells 8. Helps with depression 9. Reduces an enlarged prostate 10. Reduces varicose veins Thank you Dr Berg!

Do you know if Scotch Thistle has the same benefits? Is Milk Thistle native to the US? If you know. I’m interested in knowing. @@donnaml8776 Hi Donna, sorry I cant speak to the properties, benifits or uses to any of the thistles commonly known as milk thistle. Was simply pointing out that different plants can be known by the same common name. I think it important that there be no confusion in regard to which plant is being discussed. Wikipedia lists the milk thistle discussed here as; Silybum marianum has other common names including cardus marianus, milk thistle,[1] blessed milkthistle,[2] Marian thistle, Mary thistle, Saint Mary's thistle, Mediterranean milk thistle, variegated thistle and Scotch thistle (though not to be confused with Onopordum acanthium or Cirsium vulgare). This species is an annual or biennial plant of the family Asteraceae. This fairly typical thistle has red to purple flowers and shiny pale green leaves with white veins. Originally a native of Southern Europe through to Asia, it is now found throughout the world.. While the milk thistle that I refered to is; Sonchus oleraceus is a species of flowering plant in the dandelion tribe Cichorieae of the daisy family Asteraceae, native to Europe and Western Asia. It has many common names including common sowthistle,[2] sow thistle,[3] smooth sow thistle, annual sow thistle, hare's colwort, hare's thistle, milky tassel, milk thistle.[4] and soft thistle.[4] Sorry I can't post pictures here, but a search of the respective binomial name will show the differences. Hope this helps somewhat. 🙂

@@moustafa83hamada milk thistle along with dandelion root. Obviously your eating lifestyle has to be aligned with it which he continues to make videos about. Preferably low meat intake or none at all to give the liver a break from the high protein. IF and low carbs. Why mention what a doctor prescribes when big pharma has not healed anyone? Ginger is an antiflammatory that can be prescribed instead of the deadly pharmekia that fixes one problem but causes 5 others at the same time. I suggest those reading research functional medicine which is basically what Dr. Berg is leaning towards. We have everything we need on this earth and don't need man's lab created concoctions to heal.
