Sim Race Commentator App Takes on Donnington Park

I'm trying to make a commentator for my Sim Racing.
Currently this is 100 percent AI running a python code and using data from the game to do the commentary. I still however have to do the video editing and transitions when there is a gap in the lap count.
Right now it's logging accidents too late, not quite grasping the significance of moves to add to the highlights package and is somewhat repetitive. This is due to the limitations in the AI as well as me not spending enough time on this.
This is running Claude and Elevenlabs API's, but will add more models in it soon.

I'm sort of floored by this. Like, the tone of voice is just incredible. Of course there is some artifacting going on but it's mostly engaging as hell - I'm stunned honestly, great work man. Interesting shift in accent from American to English sometimes even mid sentence haha. Would love some corner names mentioned, a more consistent accent and most importantly, dynamics. Commentators deliberately bring the tone down to make the exciting bits more exciting and leave room for higher pitches in those moments. Would also love to hear an AI co-commentator that perhaps focuses more on the technical side of things. Dude this has so much potential, all the very best of luck to you! Subscribed - I'm very interested in this.

It's something that I'm going to implement soon. I need to drive each track to get the positions of all the corners of the tracks to add it so it knows to reference them in the future

Yeah. It gets repetitive and sounds like an AI when it's left completely to itself. When you're manually sticking the information in, there's control over the process. I'm trying to figure out how to make it automatic, while still keeping it's original personality which it's losing this way.

1:02 Yeah honestly we need real commentators to step up their calls. The AI just does too well here. You can sense the intensity that makes you feel like a part of the race.

I think AI Commentary still has a long way to go. It's in that uncanny valley right now. This version, I toned down the craziness of it, so it had to be more of a commentator and less elaborating on a fictional story. And, for me, it sounds like an AI commentating now. I going to ramp it back up again after this. It was a bit of an experimental one, and I prefer it being weird.
