My favorite part of the song: "Don't make a mess of memories Just let me heal your scars" It's impressively well written in terms of melody, rhythm as well as lyrics
Since there is only screaming at the end of the song, I think this line could also be interpreted as Mikasa singing the song beforehand, but the last sentence is pronounced by Eren. Since yelling was also used in Rumbling to explain Eren's thoughts. Consequently, the last line would be a final answer to Mikasa's worries and despair.
Thoroughly enjoyed your review and interpretation of this AoT opening. I remember watching the first episode of AoT around 2014 which was I believe a few months after it first aired in 2013. I had bought some takeout that day and drank a big glass of milk with it. I knew right there and then that this show was going to be an absolute banger in the anime genre!
Hey really appreciate this! That's great that you have that memory associated with the show - probably the equivalent for me was there was this very specific chili oil that I was using a lot while watching the series, so now it always reminds me of Attack on Titan 😅
