We believe that both bases will make a nice upgrade over the Mini, since both are capable of delivering more detail and power peaks compared to the Mini which, however, is already a very complete package considering its peak torque of 10Nm. The Ultimate will definitely require you to own a very sturdy, rigid and flex-free rig. If you already have one and you have the budget for it, then our suggestion would be to go with the Ultimate, as it provides the most complete experience among Simagic's wheelbases. If you are more limited on your budget, or if you don't own an aluminum profiles rig, the Alpha is definitely a good choice too, as with 15Nm you'll be able to replicate about 96% of your favorite sim cars, unless you only drive historic cars or cars with no power steering, which tend to produce peaks of torque above 15Nm.
