This interview put me over the fence, I’m totally sold on Simagic now. Placing my order today! Tyler is the ultimate CEO! Thank you for perfect interview, so full of information!
Really glad to see that Simagic is getting more and more light on them. They're doing an amazing job with really great products. And always a pleasure to see Tyler 🙏
I had Simagic on my list for my move into Direct Drive wheels. After watching this interview and seeing Tyler’s passion has really pushed me towards Simagic. What a fantastic company. Can’t wait to get my Alpha soon. Great interview.
That interview explains a bit how Simagic has their pulse on the sim racing market. They are run by actual sim racing enthusiasts who know what other enthusiasts want and it's not just show. Mr. Wang having owned and still being able to recall all the relevant wheels from 15 years ago and their drawbacks for sim drifting - that's what I call street cred in this hobby ;) Judging from Sim Racing Garage's disassembly reviews their products are very well engineered. They will definitely be on my radar for any future sim racing hardware purchase.
Before i order my first simagic equipment which was the alpha mini wheel base i had very high expectation, but tbh simagic products were higher beyond my expectation. From the design, features and realibilty. Since that day i have blind trust with simagic proudcts, i have used many products other than simagic in the past but none of them gives you the immersion you get from simagic products. I’m using simagic products almost one year and haven’t had a single issue Last but not least thanks to simagic team for taking the feedback from customers and get’s back with an update for every notes The passion and dream of this team push us the content creators to really support the journey and be part of it. Note: I was not paid or pushed by anyone to write this comment, this was my personal review about my experince with simagic products.
I just spent a lot of money on a Simagic rig based on nothing more than a handful of RU-vid reviews. Some of the gossip that I've heard gave me pause but ultimately I ignored my reservations and placed the order. When I got the parts in my hands it was immediately apparent that the build quality is absolutely top-shelf. This is very high-quality gear. A couple of days in and I can say I'm very impressed at how good these products perform. Now, after watching this interview I feel even better about my purchase. Great interview.
i love my simagic stuff. im running an alpha, gt1 and fx pro wheels, p2000 pedals with every add on, hydro handbrake, q1 sequential shifter, ds8x shifter. i would love to see simagic come out with a 4 dof motion system
currently waiting for my simagic set, but just seeing Mr. Wang talk with true passion about it makes me think I made the right choice. It is very nice to see CEO talk about his products with so much love and confidence is a pleasant change to some corpo rats just talking about "oh you know we have this and that" and they don't even use or know differences in their eco system... I'll be back here in some time to tell my experience
Great interview and very relevant as I’ve have recently purchased an Alpha Mini, 2 wheels and soon to buy a third. As someone with a tech/electronics background I am particularly fussy with my purchases. So far I am super happy with my Simagic gear but I also love Tyler’s mindset, passion and ideas for the future. This is of equal importance to me and came out in the interview. I look forward to the growth and rise of this company which can only lead to better things within the sim racing world.
I really, really like this guy and gained more respect for Simagic in the past hour than I did in the past 2 years combined. A lot of good behind-the-scenes info and far more candid than I ever expected. Very cool interview.
Really interesting interview. Almost all my gears are simagic and i'm very happy with it. I'm from Canada and no other company can compete with simagic on quality/price. Salutation à Sam et Flo 🙂
So im back after A month or so. Short answer, Simagic's CEO didnt lie. Long answer I was using thrustmaster t248 before switching and realised it wasnt simracing back then, it was playing games. Now the trail braking is much easier and more consistant. When it comes to wheel Im using Alpha + GT neo, the wheelbase basically saves my spins for me I have never felt wheel reacting to loss of grip before i can even see it, same goes with braking I feel when Im about to lock up the wheel kinda pushes the steering angle so it helps A lot. awesome stuff, cant wait for my haptics to arrive, safe to say if I wanna be faster its alot easier to improve, if i wanna drive on the level ive drive before i dont have to Focus as much cuz the wheel really helps, 10/10 would buy again
@@GrigoriadisNikos Oh, I think I know which one you're talking about. Nice, congrats on getting it. I just got mine setup 2 days back, it's flipping amazing! I couldn't be happier with it.
Shoutout to Simagic for having a booth at Formula Drift where you could try their full setup. I was already considering upgrading to a DD and after trying it out I was sold. Been loving my Alpha Mini since
I love Shaun’s interviews! I always want to know more about the people running these tech companies. As a tech and sim racing nerd, I find this stuff fascinating.
Great interview shaun all my gear is simagic and never had a issue with any of it, great to see Tyler giving us history of simagic and it's forward looking thinking. Can't wait to see what the future brings.
The difference between Simagic and Fanatec is that Simagic is made by people who want products they want to use themselves, Fanatec is made by people who want to grow the bank account. The quality of materials shows.
Bought an Alpha U and love it. Never going back to Fanatec especially with the nice selection of wheel rims you guys have released. Looking to grab that awesome set of pedals next.
I am a month into own my Simagic Alpha U wheel base and the only real complaint I have is the software and game support is kind of lacking, granted they are making improvements and do try their best to help you (at least in their support discord) but their software side of things has some maturing to do. Otherwise I couldn't be happier switching from Fanatec DD1 to Simagic Alpha U. Their wheels and quick release system are lightyears ahead of Fanatec though, I can confirm that!
They really need to work on the software it's so bad. Now you can even update the wheels while there on the base which you could due before with simpro. Need to have the frequency tuning option that moza have ffb is very personal.
I went from a G27 to a T300 for years and years, recently went to a full Fanatec system because I thought they were the only ones that would work with PlayStation 5 and Xbox plus PC. Only found out later that Simagic has an adaptor. I regret my choices (and I love my Fanatec stuff. I just am reading reviews and know Simagic owners LOVE what they have). Can’t wait to get a set of P2000 pedals as soon as I can. Then motor and wheels, but I really really must after those pedals. Wonder if Simagic will get into the motion systems game?
in canada simagic is cheaper than everyone except moza and after using my kit i'm so glad i chose them over moza, within a month the pedals have made me get multiple top ten rankings on richard burns rally. everyone talks about the brakes on pedals, but nobody talks about throttles(other than lauwrence dusowa) and this is the best throttle on the market by far and is just complimented by the absolutely excellent brake and clutch.
Wow what an awesome interview! he feels just like just one of the guys who is passionate about what he does and the hobby of Sim Racing Tyler is a cool cat man
Sadly, no further discussion on motors were made. Nm is not so important, while slew-rate (amplifier and controller) - that's matter. Asetek and Fanatec now are more open about it. What are the numbers for 10/15/23Nm of Simagic bases?
Did a lot of research and landed on Simagic as what I wanted, but here in Australia the Distributor and Shops that sell Simagic have no stock of DD bases, Is this another Fanatec situation?
They already got my money. Product is decent. Based on brand representation in certain areas though, I may have gone with a different brand if I had to do it again.
The Sigma Cortex Converter works perfect. Made a little video about it, it's just great. Real DD FFB since the beta in march. Great FFB, details and so strong and smooth. Got the GT Neo about three weeks now and maybe a video about it and programming the buttons and knobs will follow. You can use even the thumb rotaries for GT7..
I can't help but wonder how much Simagic has benefitted from using stolen IP from other sim racing manufacturers. It's not hard to imagine how companies like Simagic, Moza, Cammus, etc... are gaining traction in the sim racing market so quickly. They steal IP from other companies, thus considerably reducing any R&D time and cost, undercut the competition with lower prices and there you go. I'm proud to say that not a single piece of gear on my rig is from a Chinese company. I know some of it might be made in China, but not by a Chinese run/owned company. I'd rather support those in the industry who actually innovate and create, instead of copy/paste.
I don’t know from where you get your information. Since you never used their products you can’t judge it. Fyi simagic have introduced features that never exsisted before so it’s not copy and paste.
back your claims with evidence. seriously. direct drives are not wizardry, they are really just well picked (or customised in some cases) motors packaged to fit our hobby. most of the other stuffs are in the software department. We consumers should love competition, i mean have you SEEN what simagic did from the m10 especially the quick release? before that all the other companies are crap designs that just doesnt make sense. If anything, these chinese companies are embarassing the other mainstream brands before.
What exactly has Simagic stolen from other companies ? The Alpha base just simply doesnt have on outer shell like a Fanatec DD or something just a basic shell for housing the electronics and the motor.. All of their products look and work like nothing else that was on the market before them. The only other company at the time that had an entire ecosystem that produced a direct drive wheelbase in 2019 or 20 was Fanatec. Moza as well did not copy anyone before coming out with their products either. So where exactly did they steal IP's from ?
Saying a company steals IP just because they are from China is just racist and ignorant. A lot of these companies that you think are so innovating hire companies in China to come up with the innovations and to do the R&D and then take all the credit.
Great interview👍👍👍 Got one question and hope someone could help me out I bought simagic wheel, base and pedals today but i cant download the simpro manager? Does anyone have the same problem and do i need it? Thanks
