Despite advances made in SC4 and even more advances in Skylines, I have to say that nothing ever topped the aesthetic of SimCity 3000. Everything looked so beautiful - from the epically dirty industry to the incredibly pristine look of upgraded residential. It just had a fantastic, utopian feel to it that nothing ever replaced.
Dude u just got back in the sim city 3000 game lol I built an island city first and now I'm wanted to implement farms and make it super realistic. With the older sim city 3000 tools I guess.. I love watching your playthrough as I build my cities ahaha. Good stuff man! By any chance have you played airline tycoon deluxe? That's the other game I'm on too lol would love to see you do a playthrough if you're familiar with that game!
Damn dude!! How did you managed to build zones directly across from farms?!?! I thought that farms had to be constructed in a very specific way. Like 9x9, nothing across from it, farmers market ordinance, no water, no pollution. Gonna have to try what you did, because I love farms! Best damn early game industry by far.
Hey brother, I LOVED SimCity 3000. It was one of the first games I ever played as a kid. I’d be forever grateful if you could tell me how to get it. Unfortunately I lost my original disk like 15 years ago.
I bought it online a few years ago. I think it's now on steam. It's better without the disks because on the original game, the changing of tracks sometimes glitched the game into crashing.
There are very specific conditions you have to meet to get them. First, what I do, is I enact the farmer's market ordinance. And you may have noticed I enacted ordinances that punish polluting industries, so it reduces the likelihood they will develop there. Second, I start in 2000, because if you start in 1900, you don't have all the ordinances available and you will get a lot of them not developing properly. You need 8x8 size of light industrial. Sometimes you can do like 8x16 or whatever, but I generally get less consistency with larger farm sizes. I can generally only keep them on the edge of the city. In some cities, in the early development, I have tried putting farms on both sides of the road, but as the city develops, the light industry takes over, and adds smoke stacks, which then destroys your entire farm sector.
If I did that, then it would take so much longer to get the city started, and it wouldn't be at the edge, and a whole lot of water would get polluted. Where I have it in this format, is that the pollution will generally only affect power plants, jails, business deal buildings, and later a few government buildings, all of which aren't affected at all by the pollution within the game rules.
