You do know that Simon & Garfunkel are the original artists of this song don't you? Talking about their version vs David's version ... it is no version it is THEIR song!! Love Simon & Garfunkel
Dude also keep in mind the version you listened to here shows Simon and Garfunkel as old men, if you want something to compare to the Disturbed version you gotta listen to an earlier recording, maybe from their central park concert in the 90s.
I love Simon and Garfunkle. They wrote a lot of beautiful music. You should listen to their song Bridge Over Troubled Waters. It is one of my favorite songs. Thanks for playing this song.
La chanson mythique que j'écoute depuis un bail leurs appartient versio' original la meilleur mais j'aime aussi beaucoup la version de David Disturbed merci à vous
Now this is the music I know so well. I love this much much better than the new version. This is not their best version though. However ; Simon and Garfunkel have so many songs that are out of the ball park. Also, listen to original, not a concert version. They are so much better than David that you can’t begin to imagine the gifts these two guys have. There really is no comparison. I’ll have to help you out a little to understand. ❤️❣️🎸❣️❤️🎸❣️❤️🎸❤️
Simon & Garfunkel came in during my teen years... loved their sound and imagery. This song of theirs, and The Bridge Over Troubled Waters, were my two early favorites... but so were many more since that time. But David Draiman... of Disturbed... he's reworked that song, not the music so much, but his powerful vocal range and passion command the attention of ears everywhere, while squeezing tears from the eyes. If David's rendition scares the listener... then, GOOD!!! It should!! S&G wrote and performed this song in the 60's... how many hearts have responded to its message, how much change (for the betterment of mankind) has there been in nearly half a century since? Simon & Garfunkel induce a calm sleeping mode... but, Disturbed grabs one's attention and demands a reaction, any reaction.
@@daddyde24 Remember you are listening to two old men singing here, Art Garfunkle had not been singing for years well over 15 years or so yet he still came out and really knocked it out. Remember also they did not use auto tune in this or any of their songs ever, people seem to forget that newer artists sound very different singing without the help auto tune gives them and that they for the most part rely on. PLEASE listen to the original version all their songs are from the 60/70's when they were even better than they are in this performance. Umm also you do realise this is their song? It is not a version it is how it was written and performed the same as it always has been.
You really really REALLY need to listen to an older version of them singing this and their other songs! They were in their 70's here and Art Garfunkel had not sung for years at all. This is their song this is not their version it is them as they always sang it even if Art's voice is not quite as crisp anymore he is still singing without any auto tune or anything. PLEASE go back and listen to some of the 60's/70's performances of their's you will hear the true them then not as old men who lets face it still rocked it.
You must realize that this is not their version. They wrote the song. It’s from the 60s and is totally from that era. But the song is relevant now. Worship of the neon god- is so happening now.
Thanks! Though I like the original recording from -64 better, I appreciate your reaction to this one. Paul Simon is one of the best lyricists ever and Art Garfunkels voice is purely angelic. Disturbeds brilliant version gave life to this song again. I recommend The Cranberries "Zombie". In the same subject matter.
now you truly know why its almost impossible to compare the original to Disturbed's version.. the original is "magical".. Drevin's version is 'powerful'.. (and both rock.. thumbs up!)
And just in case u didnt know, the greatest Black Sabbath song is "War Pigs". Hes basically bashing the shit out of politicians for starting wars. And he made sure all the lyrics are perfectly clear so they can always be heard by everyone listening. Very very powerful song, especially at the heart of the Vietnam war when the song was made. Back then so many rock bands made anti war songs. Now... nobody gives a shit.. The only anti war song i heard when we ran thru Iraq (which had nothing to do with 9/11) was "Devour" by Shinedown. Never got any radio play, but a fucking great great great song
check out "under pressure" with Mercury and Bowie, then check out the "a Capella" version.. no auto tune: you'll 'get' how good singers in this era were..
Please check out "ENEMY" by Disturbed. He was born in Israel and the song is about the Israel/Palestine conflict. The song "Enemy" is done sarcastically. As in why are we enemies. U know it's a funny thing. Governments of countries are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT than what most ppl in those countries actually think. Even most of us in the U.S. disagree with most things our government does. Same thing in most every other country.
People get taken in by the faux, forced anger in the Disturbed version. It doesn't move me at all. The live version on Conan was better. However, the S & G version never fails to give me goosebumps because within the sweet vocals is the ominous message all too clear..
I've got a great video/song for you to react to if you have the time. Killswitch Engage - Always. The feeling you get hearing the song mixed with the video is incredible. One of the best music videos of all time in my personal opinion.
The live in Central Park version is better, it was the same arrangement as the original. Even though years after the recording Garfunkle's voice was still great and a little stronger than here. Their playing of Bridge Over Troubled Water was Even Better.
