Big club as it has fans internationally an has won the biggest club competition that some so called big clubs in England haven’t won. 1967 Celtic won 5 trophies still hasn’t been recreated Celtic still has the highest goal scorer in a league season in Britain. Celtic on a proper European run knocked two too English contenders out in Blackburn an liverpool. Celtic have 60.000 seater stadium was the biggest in Britain till EPL money went crazy. Celtic have influenced the world of football on a number of occasions player wise an competing wise so therefor celtic are a big club who if we had silly money like the top 5 leagues would be contending in the champions league every year

It's not too strange really and the answer isn't money. Brendan's got a lot of money, but it's evident he needs to build his stock back up if he hasn't got any offers from premier league sides. I thought he was going to be a cert to take over Tottenham but apparently he didn't get a wiff at the job. The Championship is too unpredictable to build your stock back. Celtic is a safe bet to win the league and potentially go deep into Europe. Danny's point about how Celtic don't have the depth to go far in Europe yet rangers did only a year ago. It's a good opportunity for Brendan, although I do doubt he will go far in Europe, his record in Europe is poor.

I'm a Rangers fan, and I'd personally be happy to see Brendan Rodgers he never really faced off against a proper Rangers team he was up against Warburton, Murty, and Pedro I don't think he's anywhere near the level of coach that Ange is who I think will do wonders at Tottenham we've had a decent start to our window and the discontent amongst fans over Rodgers only plays into out hands.

European progress is a must, as well as brendan and ange did at celtic both under achieved in Europe. O'neill, strachan and lennon all got big results that they never did. A celtic manager and team should always be judged on how well we do in Europe. Hopefully brendan gets the full backing this time. I truly believe when the board messed up the john mcginn deal that was the moment brendan wanted out.

I didn't say it's all his fault either, I said he's largely responsible. The board should've sacked him much earlier than they did and should have had a clear plan to appoint a successor. Leicester let a player that Brendan said he wanted go to villa because they didn’t want to pay an extra 300k and that was before Brendan even had his debut managing Leicester, English boards are notorious for not listening to managers and choosing the players themselves.

Rogers took the Celtic job the first time as a way to rebuild his career. The minute a Premier League job was offered he took it. If he goes to Celtic again expect history to repeat itself. If I were an owner I wouldn't touch him with a ten foot pole. I have never heard anyone who can talk for 10 minutes like Rodgers does and say absolutely nothing.

They often say that you should never go back, especially if you have been particularly successful the first time as it's only human nature to compare and it rarely works out. Having said that, I might be tempted to add that Rodgers probably has an easier task this time round because I don't know how many people really rate Michael Beale across at Ibrox but one thing's for sure he's no Steven Gerrard.

Why would he drop down to championship when he has tye opportunity of Champion League football. EPL may have money but only 4 clubs have CL and it certainly never gonna be the Diddy mid-table English teams... and make no mistake, that is what they are Diddy teams! The English Championship would find out just how good he is . Leeds United are a big club with massive expectations and he obviously sees it too difficult a challenge and would rather win in domestic finals against the likes of Inverness.

I honestly can’t stand 99% if you snobby English. Celtic are a bigger club than most of the PL. We’re in the Champions League, we don’t get 100s of millions of pounds every year. We get around 6 million pounds for winning the league . English teams get around 100million for being relegated, unfortunately we can’t compete money wise.

I think Van Bronkhorst proved at Rangers (with less money and arguably worse players) that the gap in Europe can be closed on the Park by better game Management. Neil Lennon and Gordon Strachan both took Celtic into the last 16 of the Champions League with less money and sides assembled on a lesser Budget. The issue at Celtic since 2012 hasn’t been money it’s been due to to the lack of a Plan B or more pragmatic approach to problem solving in Europe. Deila ,Rodgers and Postecoglou all set up teams with the same Formation every week with the same 11 playing the same way ,now whilst that may work playing against the mediocre sides on the Domestic front you cannot hope to rock up against the likes of Barcelona ,Madrid or PSG with the same 11 ,same setup and same tactics. That is the issue Brendan has had at Liverpool (even with big spending ) Celtic and Leicester hasn’t been money ,it’s been purely down to a stubborn belief that one system or approach will be successful regardless of who he plays. That needs to change this time round at Celtic. If Rangers can reach a major European Final then there is no reason Celtic can’t. We have the finances to improve the team we have. That’s a Treble winning side btw who went toe to toe with Madrid for 60 minutes in the Bernabeu.

Celtic were always a bigger Club than Leicester City. Surprised Brendan Rogers thought otherwise. Did well too help Leicester City beat Chelsea 1-0 in FA Cup Final two years ago, won a charity Shield & finished 5th twice & Europa League Football. Rogers may feel there is unfinished business at Celtic & best option available now.

The fact is he has no other options because he’s messed up in the English League. Do these guys not do their research? Brendan isn't coming back to win league cups in Scotland. He's asked to be backed in Europe. He wants the board to to invest in the players and infrastructure necessary to drive the cub forward in Europe. Rodgers wants to see the football operation reshaped. If he does come back that means he is getting backed heavily and Europe is his main priority. If he wasn't getting backed he wouldn't come back which throws out those comments saying he wants an easy job to win trophies.
