Dude it just makes me so happy to see Simon living the absolute dream. Just a normal dude who happens to be really good at throwing frisbees -- and that's taken him on such an amazing journey. Keep it up Jomez crew, this is awesome content
This is easily some of the best disc golf related content. And the production has such a calming and enjoyable quality to it. Thanks Simon, and all of you at JomezPro!
Thank you everyone for booming Matt’s business! He is such a down to earth guy(literally). I’ve been able to talk to him a couple times over the past couple of years and he really is great.
You literally couldn’t find a better person to do this series. I mean Simon is so genuine and full of life. It makes you happy to not only see the amazing places he visits, but to also see how happy he is to do it. Its so wholesome in a way. You get to know Simon and you get to learn about disc golf. What’s better than that?
Marquette MI would make a great Beyond Disc Golf episode! Beautiful Lake Superior, small group of dedicated local disc golfers developing five 18 hole courses, and other pocket 9ers, lots of breweries, miles of mountain biking, and of course jumping off Blackrocks!
"It's so crazy how different places look in photos than in real life." I like to think it's impossible to really capture the spirit of disc golf if you're not there on the course, connecting with people, savoring nature, and reveling in the flight of a disc. But this series comes the closest of anything I've ever seen. Cheers to you, Jomez and Simon.
Matt is exactly the kind of dude I love meeting on the course, just a reall good dude. His shop reminds me of walking into the back door of Gateway discs when they used to be right off the JB course. Just a dude trying to make it work his own way. Really great episode, the course looked wild.
As a woodworker, poor discgolfer for many years; aspiring to have a sustainable and small income as I plan for retirement this is a beautiful episode. I've loved every moment of this series, its what makes disc golf special for me
I love of how far this channel has come with their production valve and content. From the putting game to beyond disc golf. You guys are awesome, keep up the good work!
This show is outstanding! It has been an amazing gift for disc golf lovers during the off season. It’s reminds me of one of Anthony Bourdain’s travel shows, but instead of food, we get disc golf. And just like Bourdain’s shows, it’s always more about the people he meets than anything else. There is no personality in all of disc golf who could do this as well as Simon does and there is no production company that could do it as well as Jomez! What a perfect combo. Thank you and please keep the new shows coming for years to come. This is a definite keeper!
I love the shoutout for Bryant Lake DG course! It's 5 minutes from my work and I would go there a few times per week after I would finish my work day. The hole that was referenced is hole 17, where you tee off of a massive cliff over to a basket that's 700-something feet. It's such an amazing course. If any of you disc golfers visit the twin cities, I highly recommend checking that one out, along with Blue Ribbon Pines, Kaposia, Bethel University (where Jomez shot their segment with Cory Wong), etc (I know I'm leaving out other amazing courses in the area). Great episode!!
Very cool, Bryant Lake #17 is also one of my favorite holes of all time. Doesn't get much better than throwing the disc off of elevated teepad and watching the flight.
These episodes just make me smile for 45 minutes...thanx SO much for going here and choosing someone like Simon to be up front. He's been my fav pro for a long time but this is a different side of his personality that he was made for. Thanx for sharing!
I love the pacing and the general mood of these Beyond Disc Golf episodes. Simon's VLOGs are amazing too, but it's so great to see him in something really professionally done like this. It's a perfect fit somehow.
I just love the border collie carrying around his toy frisbee. And I'm very pleased to see Matt making a living on making great resin minis. I've done a lot of woodworking and lathe work in the past - this is a fantastic and simple process of making useful art.
Ok. jomez and Simon have knocked it out of the park. Truly building even more interest in this sport that has gripped so many. I hope to see this program continue next off season. Kind of fills that void. Great content!
Watching these episodes is literally watching one of my dreams in production. This "behind the scenes" type of stuff is what motivates me to adventure and explore, and often leads to some of the best conversation and experiences I've ever had in my life. Keep them coming Simon and Jomez!
Shoutout to Matt and Treasures of the Forest! I have a trophy mini that he made for the 2020 Rat City Rumble in Seattle, WA. Awesome to see him on Jomez.
I'm really enjoying this series. It is doing an amazing job displaying the passion that people from many walks of life have for the sport. Great job to the entire Jomez team for producing such amazing content!
Woah!! I grew up in Pepin county, where this is, which is the smallest country in the state. I currently only live 27 miles from this place and had no idea it existed.
This is the best disc golf content because it captures more than just the game--it captures the essence of why we all love it. The people, the courses, the creativity, the experience-disc golf is more than a game.
I think this is just the beginning for Simon. I foresee a lot of new opportunities coming his way, and not necessarily related to disc golf. He could literally narrate or star in a wide variety of documentaries. His voice is unique and his cadence is perfect.
This show is so good. Simon’s curiosity and genuine love for all the little things in life is so contagious and really comes through on screen. Jomez’s evolution as a purveyor of passion projects is really impressive. Can’t wait to see what’s next!
That was AWESOME. That's one of my favorite drives to take. I had no idea there was such a beautiful course right up the hill. Excellent story-telling and the editing is top-notch, as always. I bet Twin Cities Public Television would air this.
Great editing and audio as well, such a good series. Real and genuine, people and places I've never been to, yet...still feel like home and family, I wanna hang out with Matt :)
I really enjoy what JomezPro has put together with these Episodes, and to have Simone who it one on the most endearing people to experience these places with is great. To see his appreciation for the courses and to see new and beautiful courses that most of us would never otherwise ever know about is wonderful. Thank You
I had the pleasure of meeting Dan on a local course and when he casually mentioned playing 1000+ courses I was blown away. Really cool to hear his name mentioned.
This is such a neat thing to watch. To see Simon's interactions with people who aren't in the limelight of this sport we love so much, like he is, but who are just as important. It's awesome. What a great community. Love it, Jomez really knocked it out with this series.
This series might need its own YT channel. You can not find better quality viewing than this kind of stuff! Disc golf is going places and we want in that car! Thank you for filming these.😊
I mean this in the sincerest, most positive way: Simon strikes me as the Mr. Rogers of disc golf as he’s doing this series. He takes us on journeys to learn more about the world of disc golf and the culture around it from across the country and he does it with such positive vibes and passion. Thank you, Simon! Thank you, Jomez!
