You have to drive a mk2 escort sideways to get the best speed out of it. He is setting the car up for the next corner using a technique called the scandenavian flick. Also with hillclimbing the driver is not concerned about tire wear as they will be changed between stages. I will say it one more time, he has the perfect ballance between sideways action and speed, his driving is pure perfection. Enough said.

another 20 -30 hp would make this car perfect at the moment when hes flooring it , the car doesn't power over steer, just a tiny bit more power would be perfect, escorts are awesome cars, even today they still push newer fords around

He is not racing, he is hillclimbing! Driving a car sideways like that, flat to the floor with trees, stone, walls and ditches all around you takes big balls. Vatenan was far more "ragged" on tarmac, he either won or lost rallies, I never seen or heard of Simon crashing. S Loeb would sh1t a brick in that car lol.
