Motorsport Ireland deeply regrets that competitor Simon McKinley of Naul, County Meath, has passed away following injuries received in a tragic accident that occurred at the Clare Motor Club Hillclimb today Saturday 25th April 2015. As a mark of respect the organisers, Clare Motor Club, have cancelled the remainder of the event. Motorsport Ireland and Clare Motor Club extend their heartfelt sympathy to Simon’s family and friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with them at this very sad time.
to put it simply he knows his machine completely...he knows the tracks in and out...and his car is very fast...ive seen some specs..its a 2.4 300bhp 730kg machine...if u have a more powerful car but u lack some balls or some skill he will have u cos hes driving his heart out and using all the road there is...his back tires r huge and still they break away under full power....what more can i say....
i dont agree obviously you have not seen him drive in real life and i must point out that it is rear wheel drive and he is beating four wheel drive machinery , he even beats 5.5 litre pilbeam mp 45 /52's on hill climbs. you probably dont know what these are but believe me they are fast .if you watch videos of other mk 2's on the donegal international rally and compare there is not one corner that he is not faster than even wrc machinery.
Very good driving , it’s this video speeded up a little , most videos of track look slow even do it is fast , this look unnaturally fast or an I going a bit doddery in my old age , let’s ask the experts .
