Those early 80s shows had a certain magic that can never be repeated, the light-hearted shows, the serious shows, and the ones somewhere in between. All of them were wonderful.
@@altha2008Thursday nights were always good for CBS: The Waltons and Barnaby Jones in the ‘70s, and then, yes, SImon&Simon, Magnum and Knots in the ‘80s.
I just looked it up on Wikipedia, it wasn't a movie but a pilot in 1978 called, Pirate's Key and it was based in Florida. When CBS picked the show up, the location was changed to San Diego. Eventually the show was filmed in Los Angeles but the setting remained in San Diego.
Hm, well there was a follow-up TV movie years later, set in Seattle. At the end it implied further adventures were possible (the brothers hinting at getting back together) but... well the movie was as good as the LA Law follow-up. (Bad.) But a favorite show during original run, for sure!
when I was a kid, I thought AJ was so cool, i wanted to be like him - the way he dresses, his car, everything like others, i prefer this theme song , the tex-mex vibe from season 1 was the best
Gotta think. Jimmy Buffett had a touch of infulence for this. I can easily imagine Rick crashed out on his boat, margarita in hand while boiling up some shrimp with Jimmy or another Trop- Rock band cranked up and A J yelling "Turn It Down!!!" while sippin a Mai Tai. Thanks for posting.
