I once listened to a speech by a General where he explained that the leader of a fighting force needed all of the truth to lead, but his soldiers didn't, and in fact, having all of the truth made them less effective soldiers. If a squad is a diversion, so the rest of the force can win the battle, knowing that they are a diversion causes them to behave so noticeably differently that the opposition can tell it's a diversion, resulting in the diversion not working, and losing the battle. If you turn that around you'll see that an argument can be made that having all of the truth makes you a leader, in that your decisions are influenced by the truth, not by the misinformation and half truths fed to you by someone else. You are the follower of the person who provides your truths. Simon is giving us all the truth and he has a special ability to make complicated truths easy to understand. And this is why his speeches make us feel good. He's not manipulating us. He's allowing and enhancing our ability to effectively choose our own direction. All that remains is for someone to choose to follow us, and we're leaders. Ain't it cool?

The millennial generation gives me such hope for this world. I’m a boomer, just to give this comment context. At one time our generation was full of new and wonderful ideas about how things are done in this world and how we could make things better. We kind of forgot as a generation about the truly important things in life. Hang in there, you young, brave souls. I believe in you all!

Simon should be on mainstream television. But no they don't want people to learn this. I'm spreading his name as much as possible and I hope everyone is doing the same. Peace!

Justin Time333 You can send a petition to your leaders (politicians) saying we want the things on RU-vid to be state sponsored if it do reach x amount of viewers? This is public and all can see it? Spread it to one at a time and say that they can not tell any one about it. There are to many videos that all have to see that makes you not help others for you have to watch the videos. He did reach 8milion in 3 days and does it sell?

Why? Simon is selling his books more than anything. He's not that different from evangelists that sell food buckets.

I can listen to Simon's wisdom for hours and so glad we all have the ability to listen to his talks in the comfort of where we are. Few of my key takeaways 💥The best leaders are great followers. 💥They follow a cause bigger then themselves and see themselves in service for that cause 💥It's not about being in charge but taking care of those in your charge 💥Major events in the world and how we grew up will have an impact on that population

I’m currently reading ‘The Infinite Game’ and it’s definitely philosophy that can be added to your personal life as well. I find that there is a correlation to fixed mindset to the finite game and growth mindset to the infinite game. The growth fixed mindset comparison if from work by Carol Dweck and Angela Duckworth who also have great books to read.

4:35 - "It's not about being in charge, it's about taking care of those in your charge. And it has nothing to do with your rank or authority. And I think we very often confuse a position of leadership with being a leader. And so everybody has the capacity to be a leader. And anybody can be a leader regardless of their rank or position. And not everyone who's in a position of authority is a leader despite what we call them." - Simon Sinek ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_ty_wLlOoyM.htmlm35s 6:48 - "So let me unpack that." - Simon Sinek ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_ty_wLlOoyM.htmlm48s 13:22 - "I met a ton of Millennials who had come up to me afterwards and thanked me. And some of them were brought to tears because they thought it was them. They thought they were broken. They thought there was something wrong with them. The struggle to form relationships. The struggle to form trust or deal with stress. They thought it was them and they understood that they still have to. They still had that struggle that the problem doesn't go away but they're not broken. It's it's largely because of how they grew up that impacted their view of the world." - Simon Sinek ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_ty_wLlOoyM.htmlm22s

24:56 We should all learn what it means to be humble and how to always be honest enough with ourselves to remain open to criticism. A person's greatest strength is being able to recognize and acknowledge his greatest weakness. Be open and receptive to criticism @ all times. If you're willing to acknowledge that it actually does happen to apply to you (whatever "it" may be), then start working on yourself by altering yourself, your lifestyle, your circle of five, and/or your life as deemed necessary. This typically always requires growth and change; do it for yourself and for your own personal betterment. And if it doesn't apply to you, then toss it aside and continue working on the criticism that does apply to you so you can be that much closer to becoming your best self and in all your attempts @ becoming successful by actively pursuing whatever goal(s) that you're currently trying to achieve. It's not easy, but it is simple. Be Blessed !!!

27:01 Simon, I'm a big fan, but you forgot to acknowledge the elephant in the room. That being the rise of high skill, low wage, part-time only work that came out of the Great Recession. We're talking about therapy managers at clinics working part-time for $10 per hour (real-world example). I love your work, but that seems to be a consistently overlooked factor when it comes to your talks and I'd love to hear your thoughts. Again, big fan, just pointing that out.

The "flow" concept does seem to have a level of tolerance to interruption once you're there, as long as the interruption is something you can make the choice to ignore, or that doesn't require a real shift of primary attention.

Anyone who has said that Reggie Yates is stupid etc, clearly are stupid themselves, the man is smart, successful and is very passionate about what he does and no one in this comment section should have the audacity to talk down to him.

Simon (57:41;42): "As a kid I definitely had ADD but it was never diagnose ..." I am so glad he revealed that piece of info, coz I've been observing how anxious he seem to have become a few times, almost kicking his feet. Hmmm. lol

Point of Delicacy: The Host really should sit down AFTER the guest is seated: a mark of respect. No matter; ettiquette has long since been thrown out of the window...........alas, to our own detriment. Note how the host starts the presentation speaking about himself first.

My question some of these comments quote Reggy Yate stupid what do you regard as stupid in the question and answer in this interview with Simon Sinek and his ideal for the world we live in? he has found his purpose and calling and he is happy living it so does Reggy too. Who has not found their purpose tends to criticism when they do not quite get it or fully understand when the information is received. We all have a purpose when we found or discover it we are at our happiest. We do the thing we good at and make us happy it is not always pleasant and hard work but ever so rewarding patient, diligence, discipline, consistency, and persistence in action and speech are attractive and does attract followers and believers. Negativity hurts and it does not bring joy or fulfillment but hatred because of ignorance.
