@@justlilyanne Simone even said it’s a redemption tour I mean it kind of is cause she probably felt like oh why did I have to have this happen now but at the same time she had been through so much up until that point it all just came to ahead, unfortunately at the team finals at the Tokyo Olympics but she did what she needed to to get her mind right now she’s gonna get to write her ending how she wants. because she retired after what happened in Tokyo, but she didn’t wanna end her career on that disappointing note because she didn’t want to. She knew she couldn’t compete and she knew how dangerous it could’ve been if she tried to continue.

@@joancowanjones5308 I agree, but unfortunately that’s always gonna be a part of her story and there’s gonna be people that wanna address it and I think if you watch her new documentary, it should be enough for give enough answers. Hopefully people won’t keep asking about it just sucks it was to the point that her first thought is oh my country is going to hate me. My team hates me, and she did the right thing. She did help her team back when she knew she couldn’t compete. I saw somebody talking about it and they said in the end had pushed herself to keep competing in the state she was in the team probably would not have gotten a medal at all because she would’ve been making a lot of uncharacteristic mistakes. You try putting yourself in her shoes. Most of the critics probably couldn’t do any of the things she does let alone cartwheel.

Your body wants to do one thing with the mind says otherwise Simone said it’s like you decide to get in your car out of nowhere you forget to drive and you start flailing your arms.. However, you want to describe it it’s it can be dangerous

@@jm7804 I was so happy for her, especially with all that she’s been through the last few years with her health. I remember watching the post trial interview when they interviewed the girls that made the team and for her this was something she was told might not ever happen again so I know she’s putting it all out there and giving her all so I know she’s happy with whatever she gets medal wise. I can’t imagine how hard it would be there’s a chance you won’t be able to do one of the things you love anymore

I know there is a strong debate over whether mental health is more important vs. perseverance and some people criticize her for quitting in the last Olympics, but looking past that, I have never seen anyone tumble with so much power. Her tumbles have so much speed and height. I think she's really the queen of what I call "power-based" gymnastics. The other style of artistic gymnastics is smooth like ballet which I think gymnasts like Nadia Comaneci, Andreea Raducan, and Nastia Liukin (for example) exemplify.

She didn't quit, she withdrew. And everyone who thinks she should have continued is okay with gymnasts risking their health and lives because when you lose track in the air, you can get hurt very badly. Gymnastics is way too dangerous for that.
