Awesome! 22 Hornet is one of my favorites, and Lee's new presses are pretty cool. Thanks for the video and keep on loading!

I use 35 grain Vmax or 34 grain dog town over LIL Gun and get great velocity and accuracy. The Lee factory crimp die is key as it allows for a good start pressure with the thin Hornet brass.

12 gr of lil gun with a 40 gr v-max. cases are tumbled ,lenght sized and chamfered, full lenght sized. Even new cases.

No flash holes de burred....no case necks chamfered...each charge should be weighed individually..Lee powder thrower not accurate enough , the smallest variation in powder charges will effect the accuracy in such a small case.

Sounds like years of wisdom! I no longer have any of this stuff but would you debur and chamber new brass as well?

@@dostuffchannel Always have done my friend.... especially with the hornet having such a thin neck....just goes towards aleiviating the possibility of the dreaded crushed neck with the bullet having a bit of 'leade" in. Always de burred the flash holes and uniformed the flash holes....all helps a bit towards accuracy in this cracking little cartridge.... Still got a hornet in my cabinet sat alongside my 6mm/.22br's😉

I agree. This is a very poor example of reloading. It's apparent that this guy is an an amateur of the lowest order.

You can do what You want but I would take off that primer system and place them in by hand. I been doing it that way for years. The primer system is a pain.

I agree, the primer system is finicky at best!

Their.444 brass is short too so that you pretty much have to load their 265 grain flex tip bullet.

That was lame. What was one of the tricks to improve accuracy?

The Lee factory crimp die is the key, as it allows a good start pressure.

Did size the case length?

Question.. on new unfired brass would you full length size and neck size?
@dostuffchannel
@dostuffchannel 7 лет назад
That question is a bit loaded, (no pun intended) I think that it's going to depend on the quality of brass. If you buy premium brass then you only need to neck size to get the bullet to seat, but if you the brass is not great then you may want to full-length size to ensure proper chambering. But, don't take my word for it, there's plenty of information online!
