Just found this, wanted to share with you Dewayne - my dad got sick when I was 18, I lost him when I was 20, had to drop out of school and everything to help my mom take care of him (honored to, I loved him dearly). Since he's been gone 14 years now I've been trying to figure out life things largely alone, and there aren't hardly any men out there that will actually sit down and encourage us younger men, or teach us. Videos like this make me feel cared for and it's nice to learn from an older man. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing. Many men are going through the same thing. Many of us have gone through or are currently facing similar challenges. God bless your journey; we love and support you.
You are a true “man.” Caring for your mother and taking your father’s responsibility for any measure of time is truly a selfless act expressing what being a “man” is all about. No matter how long it has been I am sorry for your loss but fight on and learn what you must.
Lads need Dads. If you do not have a Dad for whatever reason, a knowledgeable older man who is willing to spend time and teach or give advice is priceless.
YEP! Haha...i tell them boys i work with they wouldn't be draggin all day or clockin in last minute if they'd go to bed at a decent time and get up earlier so they got time to wake up n eat take a hot shower whatever..no they jump up n throw their clothes on n run out the door
I cook eggs everyday pretty similar to this, except I make an omelette. If you keep the heat down to Medium, the eggs will set with the sausage and whatever you put on them. I flip them, then turn heat to low and sprinkle with cheese. Then fold in half. Cheese will be on the inside. I have Oatmeal with them and a 3/4 cup of yogurt and herbal tea.
most cooking shows are filled with different camera angles, cuts, pre-made food, and yet somehow this gentle man cooking in real time a simple meal was even more captivating
I’m up at 4:30 most every day. Sit with a cup of coffee. Cook my breakfast of eggs and sausage or bacon. Sometimes fried and sometimes scrambled. I scramble them same as you, but I need to add the whipping cream. I put my cheese in as soon as I pour the eggs into the skillet. Melts and blends in thoroughly. No bread. No carbs.
Hey, same here buddy. 4:30 in the morning, I switched to an " american breakfast " in the last 6 months because in France, we have that bad habit of typically eating sweet stuff in the morning. Sugar does no good, plus there is a natural boost in glucose from our body, proeuced by the liver, before we wake up to help us get going, more sugar just results in a spike which leaves us with a down a few hours later, as opposed to good fat and proteins. And a whole fruit at the end of the breakfast. No juice. I go back to my French soul for the rest of the day but starting with sugar in the morning is really bad, I've noticed how it determines the rest of the day.
I wanna see more of Dwayne's recipes. Here in Brazil countryside's workers before going to the coffee fields prepare and store their food (usually rice, beans, meat and potatoes) in an "aluminium lunch pail" called "marmita". They often wrap it up with a dishcloth to keep It warm until lunchtime. When they arrive at the field they eat a bit of that around 6:30 a.m. and the other part they eat around 11 a.m.
Should definitely do more simple cooking videos with a variety of these simple meals. The food looks great and you drop great knowledge in your cooking videos.
We just has this for lunch today, it was really good, my wife’s a real good cook so after we watched the video a couple days ago she gave it a try. We both enjoyed it and will do it again ! Your horsemanship attitude closely mirrors ours and I’ve been a subscriber and follower for a long time now. God Bless you and Momma !
Speaking as someone currently attending culinary classes and who comes from a family that never really valued real, authentic home cooking, videos like this are truly invaluable to me. Something so nostalgic and elegant about simple, hearty meals like this. Thank you. 🙏
Love these videos. So much wholesome knowledge that is forgotten in todays world. Grew up on a farm with cows and horses so this feels like home to me.
Dewayne, that cowboy breakfast lays a good foundation for a day of hard work. I have my own adaptation of this recipe. I use Tennessee Pride Country Sausage (Hot) and three eggs scrambled in a little whole milk. I add some diced sweet onion and diced tomatoes along with some grated sharp cheddar cheese. Plate it up and add a little Texas Pete Hot Sauce. A cup of strong, black camp coffee and I’ve got one of my favorite breakfast meals. I greatly appreciate you sharing your cowboy breakfast this morning.
Start with a diced potato, then add the sausage, onion, baby tomatoes and cheese. Rollup in a tortilla. Wrap one up for lunch too. Don't forget your hot sauce.😊
Another way to do it is just chip the narrow end of the egg on the rim of the bowl only enough to get it started. Then lift off that cap over the bowl and the egg will pour out without making a mess and no shell bits will end up in the egg.
Simplicity in cooking is my thing too. Words of wisdom in here for all ages. Great recipe too and tips for not damaging the skillet. Howdy from Athens, Greece
Lol Momma's gonna hit me over the head ... Cause she's a mean one. 🥰. I enjoyed your cooking and as always your life advice. Thank you Dewayne you and Momma have a great week.
Thank you for sharing such important life lessons with us. Totally agree! It's all about having patience and taking/ making the time for this and that.
Dewayne - Hey man, thanks for the good cooking show today. I am stuck in the city for work, but this really put me back in the cabin sights sounds and I swear I could smell the kitchen. It was encouragement to make myself lunch today and skip my microwave goto. Thanks buddy!
Yep i just started the carnivore diet listening to Dr Ken Berry and Dr Anthony Chaffee. 4 weeks in i feel great and have lost 14 ib and no craving sweets.
Hi Dewayne, Just looked up your channel again today. I cussed myself for not watching you every week. You are inspiring and just a down right good bloke. Cheers from Australia
The school now teach crazy stuff but they don’t teach basic cooking and budgeting/how to daily finance. Like some common sense living that maybe they’re parents are too busy working to get the time to teach.
Love this kind of video. I've rewatched the breakfast at the campfire and coffee one so many times. I know how to cook, but it's the relaxing factor that I love. Thank you for making these!
I just found out your channel and as a Spanish teenager I must say (said this just as an excuse for any misuse of the english language), man! I didn't know there were still people with such good values and right minded in this crazy world we live in. You gave me great inspiration to just enjoy things that I love and stop caring about what society thinks about me. Greetings from El Campello (Spain).
You’ve got perfect English sir. If you’ve ever got the time and money to travel, try out Custer South Dakota. Not far from some big US monuments like crazy horse and mt Rushmore but also not as well known as Montana and Wyoming. Just as beautiful without the traffic
I learned how to cook as a man from watching my grandma and grandpa in the kitchen. The reason I subscribed was you had wisdom in your words like my grandfather. So many men and women need guidance today and you’re someone who can help them in simple ways from your videos. 🙏🏽
That's how I was my grandpa used to always cook the dinner and I would watch him my grandma would cook breakfast and I would watch her and then my mom was really good person to learn cooking from and she used to love watching cooking shows back when I was growing up in the 80s and 90s. I took everything I learned and then put my own twist into different things. At this point I can pretty much cook anything can I make up a lot of recipes with no cookbook I can just go through what's in the kitchen and what would go well together and just create something because I grew up poor and that's a survival skill that you need to know.
Words of wisdom while cooking a solid breakfast. I will be incorporating this into my morning routine and not grabbing something last min as I have been doing. It's not good to a microwave individual. Thanks for making the video.
I like the cooking video. Cooking is calming for me to watch and a healthy meal is so important. I have cancer and limited how long I can stand and the recipes looks nourishing and simple enough to make for myself as I live alone. The cooking and the stories help me not focus on my pain and how I can make myself better by doing a simple meal. Thank you so much. God Bless.
What? I cook A. lot. Many varied recipes. Chicken Booyah. My favorite soup. I appreciate your response. I am not a senior. I am a young. No where near a senior.
In my opinion, no young person should leave home without these basic skills. I am thankful that my mother and father taught me how to cook and clean. It has helped me throughout my life and in the raising of my own children. I learned something here too. Never seen eggs cracked on the inside of the bowl, but it makes perfect sense. Alot of wisdom shared here about patience and doing things right. Nicely done Sir!
This is amazing I made some simple cowboy breakfast this morning for breakfast it was delicious I wanted to say thank you Dewayne for showing us how to make simple cowboy breakfast this video has helped me today to remind myself to take the time to make it and never be in a rush and I already subscribed to this channel and I'll give this video a thumbs up thank you once again ?
As @FrammerBros said earlier, it really brightens the day when there's a new video from Dewayne and Momma waiting to be enjoyed! Great people, great channel and im a big appreciative fan. 👍🖖
I loved watching you in the kitchen Dwayne it’s so different from what I normally see you doing. It’s good to see a good man cooking a good meal not just leaving it for mama. I loved your skillet and how well seasoned it is, it was a site of beauty! Mama You do a great job on that camera. Don’t let anybody tell you different.❤
Thanks Dewayne & Momma. Saw the Wrangler coffee on the counter ☕😊 That's how I make my eggs ... I put in some cream to make it creamy, but learned that some folks put in water, to make it fluffier. To each his own. Have a great week!
My wife is lactose intolerant, so I use about 1/4 cup water with 2-3 eggs. To a hot skillet add 1/4 tsp olive oil, crushed clove fresh ajo add diced onion (1/8 inch), diced bell pepper (1/4 cup), diced tomato (1/4 cup) and the broken corn chips from the bottom of the bag. Two plates of Migas.
Sir dewayne thankyou for your videos, i grew up without knowing what a father is and i felt like i have a father once in my lifetime because of your videos, I'm a young man who is lost and don't know what to do in life but i found you and your videos, and felt that i have a mentor, father and friend genuinely help me and i thankyou from the bottom of my heart.
Cooking is my hobby, been doing it all my adult life and I’m 64. I guess I’m ok at it, my friends and family are always asking me to cook. I am personally about 90% carnivore but will have a few vegetables once in a while and fruit on rare occasions. Always intermittent fasting (18-6) Never felt better.
I remember that campfire cooking video. Loved it! Glad to see you back cooking again. Incredible how much you can learn about life from preparing a meal.
Awesome. Next, I want to see those ranch hands make some beans. Hemingway's Big Two-Hearted River has the fella make campfire beans, if I'm not mistaken.
I will eat it like you made, for sure, but if I have fresh veggies, I have been known to add chopped mushrooms, chopped onion, minced garlic or garlic powder, chopped green, orange, or yellow pepper, and even some leaf baby spinach. So good! Nancy from Arkansas
That looked great, Dwayne. I like to taste my food, too, and for the most part use butter, salt, and pepper to do any flavor enhancing and browning. Thanks for another food video. God bless you and mamma. Hey, Mamma.
I'm a seafood processor a lot of this applies to what we do too but we have a cook who feeds us like five times I really just show up for the breakfast eggs and bacon and Skip all the other meals
Oh cooking channel and wisdom packed!!love it lol I’m carnivore so that meal is perfect for me looks so good and you cook in a cast iron pan as well ,thank you so much for sharing❤❤
Never understood when people say cooking is hard, I’m 17 and I taught my self how to cook when I was 15. For most meals, crank the heat up to medium, flip and stir your food here and there and just take it out once you have a nice brown color. And for the seasoning really all you’ll ever need is some Salt, Black Pepper, Garlic Powder, and Paprika.
I have a pretty decent flock of chickens so we eat a lot of free range eggs. My kids won’t really eat store bought anymore. They are to polite to tell anyone they don’t like them, they just won’t really eat them, but my two year old daughter has three of our home eggs for breakfast every morning.
Dewayne, thank you so much for sharing so many life skills and lessons with your followers. Your calm and steady demeanor, with your willingness to help others sets an example I am excited to follow as I grow older. Thank you.
I learned how to cook from a young age from my mom. I never had to rely on anyone to cook for me since I was young. Now that I’m in my 20s, when nobody is around, I can always cook something for myself
I do the same breakfast with a microwaved potato half dice it and fry it crispy and add everything to the top of a couple pieces of toast or burrito. Seasoning varies everytime.
I use that same skillet and don't have usually have that problem. I season it well with flax oil and use a Dexter-Russell small spatula. I do have a slight amount of sticking every so often and use the hot water as well, but it's usually pretty minimal.
I make basically the same thing every day. Quick, easy, filling and affordable! Good way to use up leftover vegetables from dinner too like peppers, mushrooms, onion and tomatoes. Ill crack 3 eggs in the morning and will be full till super time
I like some diced onions or even some bell peppers in mine. Been eating this way for almost 10 years now. Cast iron all the way I have about 12 pieces and nothing I’m missing to make almost anything a person needs to make. Hell I even baked my son a cake from scratch for his birthday quite a few years back. Man I really do miss my gas stove though.
I love how you apply a life lesson to every day activities. 👍👍 I've learned much from your videos. Thank you and many blessings to you and mama Noel. 🎚❤️
Sending this to my almost 18yo grandson. The recipe is good and the wisdom is great! Every young man should have a man like you around! I loved all your words 💯
The eggs n sausage keep ya going till lunch🙌 Not a doughnut or coffee cake, that’s just fluff to your stomach and you’ll be hungry in an hour. Thank you so much! For that cleaning egg on a seasoned skillet. Love that.
