Simple Moosor Dal Recipe
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons oil
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1-2 dry red chilies
1 medium onion, chopped
2-3 garlic cloves, chopped
4-5 green chillies
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 cup boiled moosor dal (red lentils)
1.5 cups boiled water
Instructions:
Heat Oil:
In a medium pan, heat 2 tablespoons of oil over medium heat.
Add Spices:
Add 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds and 1-2 dry red chilies. Fry for a few seconds until the cumin seeds start to crackle and the chilies darken slightly.
Add Onion and Garlic:
Add 1 medium chopped onion and 2-3 chopped garlic cloves and 4-5 green chillies to the pan. Fry until the onion becomes golden brown.
Add Spices:
Add 1 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder. Mix well to combine with the onions and garlic.
Add Boiled Dal:
Stir in 1 cup of boiled moosor dal. Mix everything together.
Add Water:
Pour in 1.5 cups of boiled water. Stir to combine.
Simmer:
Bring the mixture to a boil. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for 5-6 minutes.
Serve:
Once the dal has thickened slightly and is well-mixed, remove from heat. Serve hot with rice or bread.
