On our first day of school, we light sparklers and take family photos. My kids fill out an "About Me" paper. We go through what our school schedule will be and do an extremely easy science experiment.

I love this! ❤ We do an ice cream sundae party the night before our first official day. I decorate the table with gifts (some kind of new pens/pencils a fun notebook and something for them to use all year like a new water bottle). I also have them do an “about me” page to keep and I write them each a letter showering them with love and excitement for the new year. We always do first day pictures in front of our fireplace and it’s so fun to see how they have grown over the years (it’s our 4th year coming up)! We tend to jump right into the new routine, but may take extra breaks to head outside since it’s still nice weather, and we tend to have a picnic lunch if it’s nice!

We should do a fancy breakfast for the 1st day of school!!! We love to make fancy labels for books and folders with our circuit or on the computer or with our label maker!!!

Thanks for sharing! In my family make them their special breakfast request. Decorate the dinning table beautifully. A gift is placed on the desk for each of them. We take photos and then introduce each subject and what is expected of them. End with a family dinner.

Hi i want to know how do you show your school district proof of your kids school work? Because im having a problem showing my kids school district proof of my kids school work, i do Time4learning with my kids just started it.

We are not required to show anything to our district but we do keep records just in case. You could print out the table of contents/scope and sequence of the class they are taking and put a date next to each lesson of when they complete it. You can sometimes print off finished lessons and tests, show a reading log of all the books read, etc.
