Thank you for the words. Blondie hacks one is a really gorgeous piece of precision but I think it only fits one size of punches or a limited range of sizes. With this one I can use those that I want with the desired spacing.
whipped one out yesterday with scrap i had. slightly different. works great. a lot quicker and probably just as good or better than the others i have seen. good idea!
excellent idea, I very much like the simplicity of the design and that it is adjustable via number of turns. will definitely build this. thanks for sharing.
I didn't see it in other comments... I was thinking that you could use just the top part, with magnets, to work on Ferrous metals, and double-side tape to attach to anything non-magnetic, so that you could put lettering on any size material, at an arbitrary location... probably want to use a carpenter's or combination square for locating the jig on larger pieces... otherwise, very nice, very simple! I guess that you could add movement in the 'Y direction, as well, for multi-line spacing without moving the base.
This is the best JIG I have seen so far. Thank you for sharing. May I ask? What dimension is the L iron profile you are using? 25 x 25 mm or 30 x 30 mm ??
Wow! Excelente "jig"... Quando precisar irei recorrer ao teu vídeo para ter umas ideias. Muito bom sim senhor. Thanks for sharing! You got yourself a new subscriber.
Great design. I know how to buy all the parts except for two shapes in the top, lets call them the box and the slider. Are they available off-the-shelf, or did you have to weld or otherwise make them?
I'm assuming that you are talking about the piece that makes the punches advance. If so, it is a flat bar (~5 - 1 cm) in which I cut a groove/slot with with the angle grinder with the same width as the L shaped part. Then I welded to small plates so that when you rotate the threaded rod the slotted part advances smoothly.
