I wanted to see what improvement could be made on a $30 AR-STONER MilSpec AR-15 trigger with some simple polishing. The results surprised me! The action is super smooth and the weight dropped quite a bit. It might break in and feel similar after a few hundred rounds, but this was a quick way to expedite the process.

It looks like the hammer spring is going in the opposite direction. You can see the angle difference the way it lays against the trigger pin. Doing that will make everything lighter. Ive done that by accident before.

Woah man good catch! Thanks for pointing that out. After-polish trigger weight will not be an accurate comparison then. The polishing work and resulting smoothness still stands though.

@@dltz for sure, I totally agree with the choice of hard stones to use. The feel makes a huge difference. Also thank you for the quick response I hardly ever leave comments and wanted to say good job on all your videos you have a new subscriber for what it's worth!

@@gabedelgado80 much appreciated! I really like it when people leave comments. People watching can get more information and I learn something.

I flipped the hammer spring over and reinstalled it in my jig and re-tested the trigger pull weight. It averaged 4-4.5 pounds. So the trigger weight dropped approximately 1.5-2 pounds. Thanks again for pointing this out so I could make the correction!

You mean when he reassembled it at 5:20? Doesn’t mounting the hammer spring backwards make a negligent discharges more likely?
