Thanks for your reply. I will check that out. iv been going through extactly what you speak about in your early days about going on forums to try to learn and seeming to get conflicting or worthless advice and also watching youtube videos that either have no volume and your just left watching a cursor moving round a screen or they may as well be speaking outer mongolian, lol. But yeah.. great 'start with the basics' advice. Also i absolutely agree with your attitude on the rat race.

Sue, I normally apply the transfer first and then apply the vinyl after. It doesn't matter if you double press but just make sure you place a teflon sheet over everything. Regards Martin

If we want bigger words that are 11X10 or so, do I need to rotate the lettering so that it doesn't run off the edge of the vinyl? This is all new to me! Thanks so much for your videos, they are very detailed!

Hi Martin thank you for the videos had my machine a while and was about to give in before I found YOU. Can I use a tattered lace memory stick in get some images in my PCs to send to the cameo and can you use just a domestic hot iron to transfer an odd t shirt or is it a must for the heat press thank you Helen (Dagenham)

Hello. Thanks for the GREAT video!!! I wanted to ask your opinion... My wife and i are getting married in July, and decided that it was better to buy a set up to make some t-shirts and vinyl sticker decals. I am also a drone and rc hobbyist, so making vinyl graphics would not just be fun, but hopefully cost effective. I wanted to ask what you thought was the best option for around 5-600 or less? If you are wanting to make stickers, you'll need a vinyl cutter. I use the Silhouette Cameo and it's great for this. If you want to do T shirts as well, you'll need a decent heat press. You may want to check out my t shirt training dvd before you invest money into the t shirt biz. Does it matter what material the shirt is made of? Does 100% cotton work best or a 50 50 blend? Also, do you need a heat press? Is it possible to do with an iron?

Most people prefer 100% cotton t shirts so that's what we use. You really need a heat press for this. Cheers Martin

I came away with only one question, what brand name is the material you used for the slogan to be cut on? I'm in the US and the actual product name would be a big help. Hey Jay, Glad you enjoyed the video the clothing vinyl I was using is basic Hot Flex Clothing vinyl. There are many makes so to find a good vinyl, just Google a "clothing vinyl supplier" and look for a reputable supplier instead of just buying the cheapest on Ebay. This way, you'll be guaranteed to have the quality you'll need to last. We buy our vinyl in 330mm sheets but you can also buy them on rolls, we just find it easier this way. Cheers Martin

Hi. All I'm trying to do is learn how to print some club t-shirts for a kickboxing club. Plain club name and small logo, onto a medium weight plain white t shirt. I prefer vinyl. can you print onto vinyl from a home computer, and use a cheap press to attach it? yes, I'm a complete beginner looking to save a few quid :) help appreciated.

You can't really print on vinyl but you can print on Transfer papers using your home computer. I have plenty of vids on my channel showing this. You can also use a vinyl cutter to cut out vinyl but you can only produce quality t shirt graphics with a quality heat press. Anything else will peel off and not last.

corey diev I have never had one peel off. I only print on 100% cotton t shirts as these are the most popular so I can't comment on other materials. Regards Martin

i reversed my design using the object mirror tab b4 i sent it to the cameo but when i cut it the cutter starts cutting on the far right of the machine, not even on the htv. what am i doing wrong or do i have to load the paper on the right side of the machine instead of the left. mr. butler reverses his design b4 sending to cameo and it cuts it on the left side

the problem i'm having is, that it wont cut the entire image i have. it cuts 90% of it...as in leaves out certain letters in between....it's weird and random. it's cutting for example - "USA MEDIA DEPARTMENT", but the cutter is cutting it as - "USA M DIA DEPAR ENT" the a random piece of the image is missing also..any help would be appreciated. (this was my first time cutting, i followed your instructions, everything worked perfect, just the not cutting full images problem)

Try and update the software or try a different font. If not, contact the silhouette helpdesk.

The bluetooth functionality is still glitchy and silhouette is working on it. When I called the recommended using the cord to connect it to the computer directly. I haven't had any missing letters since!

when i send my design to the cameo to be cut it is always in the top left corner just as yours is but when it cuts it out it cuts it out of the top middle of the sheet and not from the top left....... anyway to fix this?????

Its probably because you click the "send mirrored" icon before cutting. Try reversing the image first and then clicking "send as is"

hi there, can you only use this heat transfer paper with a big press or can you use an iron?seems a lot of money for a few t shirts for yourself thanks

There are some transfer papers that you can use with an iron but theses don't tend to last for long. If you want to go into business selling printed t shirts, you will need a quality heat press and quality vinyls or transfers that will not peel, fade of crack. Cheers Martin

+Christine Maramis I have not used vinyls on 100% polyester but it depends on the vinyls you use. They all have different ratings and you get that info from the supplier. Cheers Martin
